This is a general topic for all things Game of Thrones.  I'm a huge fan of this show and can't wait for the 8th and final season to begin.  

 

Question to start us off: What's your favorite emotional moment from the show?

Hey I have a question.  So I caught up to this show rapidly like right after the last season ended.  Then... I had to sit and wait for 2 fucking years lol.  You know any really good recaps for the series so I can refamiliarize myself with it? 

 

On that note, for the longest time I just didn't really care about this show because I've never hugely been into like... Medieval stuff and all that.  Also GoT fans can be really obnoxious about how much they like the show so that was off-putting at first.

 

God damn though, this show is pretty good.  I should have known because HBO is doing it.

While I understand the need of all the extra stuff since a lot of it ties into the main storyline. The only thing I'm still angry about is being deprived of Zombie Catlyn Stark. It's the only change from book-movie I'm truly pissed about.

To answer my own question, two moments from the show wreck me emotionally:

 

1. Sansa and Jon reuniting.  Kept apart for 5 seasons—so cathartic having the Starks re-assemble the remnants of their family.

 

2. Dany naming Tyrion Hand of the Queen.  IMO, his entire story arc climaxed at that moment, getting the recognition he truly deserved and desired.

I still have to watch last season and maybe the one before, I forget if I did. I think I did, I remember feeling like the showrunners were like kids whose parents left for the weekend, they were free of GRRM and went nuts doing everything they've ever wanted to do, felt really "off" compared to how the show had flowed before. Almost like fanfiction, except for that thing about the door.

Seriously since it'll be forever before the book series finishes but they do have GRRM's permission and direction so the possibilities are endless.
I will legit raise hell if Tyrion dies tho. Like I've been Team Tyrion from the beginning.

My honest to goodness list tho in case they don't just kill everyone:
At least 1-2 Starks survive. I'm about 40% sure that it will be Sansa/Arya/Bran (sorry Snow but dying once already doesn't save you as we've seen in WD)
Sam Tarly
possibly Brienne (If not then more likely Tormund trying to save her)
Jorah doing his duty (followed by the rest of Danny's servants)
Jaime for sure. I feel it itching with where his story has been going. But I'm honestly hoping for sibling suicide pact with Cersei.

Legit just figured the ending of GoT would be that all the main characters are just ashes blowing in the wind and the people wail "WHO WILL RULE US NOW" and then suddenly the clouds at sea part and Gendry the Kingy in the Dingy majestically rows to shore

 

I also like how the crew of people going beyond the wall all gets together at the end, sort of like the Fellowship of the Ring except if you knew they were going to fail miserably
 

TBH I'm half expecting the white walker they bring back to be the reanimated corpse of YOU KNOW NUFFIN girl because that's how lame the showrunners are

This episode is like an hour and 12 minutes long and all of it should be devoted to Tormund and The Hound bullshitting with each other

 

I'm imagining Sam sitting on that wagon he rode away from the library with, humming the Game of Thrones theme to himself. Seems like a Sam thing to do.

They're fighting a monster bear with fire swords, this is manly as fuck

 

Not wearing their fur hoods at night in the snow, wouldn't they have frozen to death?

 

Is it smart to take all three Dragons? The Night King will kill one of them and use it as his undead steed

I've been soft-complaining like a bitch (or maybe hard-complaining and it just reads soft to me) about how fanservice-y this is, but they gave me Bronn, Podd and Tyrion back together again and the word "cock" was uttered like 5 seconds in so FANSERVICE MISSION ACCOMPLISHED I GUESS

That's the best way to watch it.  The anticipation for each episode builds across the week, which you don't experience if you're just binge-watching it.

There was so much shade being thrown between Sansa and Dany that I had to turn the heat in my house back on.  

 

Also, episode should have been titled "Awkward Reunions". At first they were alternating the super awkward ones and the heartwarming ones, then they started doubling up, and by the end they told the feel good reunions to fuck off and cranked the awkward up to 11.
