Mera'din 306 Posted February 14, 2022 They were in MI-13 together for a bit. Other than that, they could easily lean toward vampiric qualities or origins for the Ebony Blade that would encourage a connection for the MCU. It did feel like a pretty weird choice either way, but they've made weirder things work so I'm just going to roll with it at this point. XD ISO Share this post Link to post
Galeigh 278 Posted March 7, 2022 Desi and I watched Free Guy, and holy shit that was fucking hilarious and oddly sweet and endearing. 1 ISO Share this post Link to post
Tassifox 404 Posted March 7, 2022 Seriously there wasn't a single thing that I disliked about Free Guy. I love the range thay Waikiki(?) has in his career. ISO Share this post Link to post
Tassifox 404 Posted April 9, 2022 Saw Sonic 2. Way better than 1st one. Knuckles is best boi. Go see. Spoiler Legit if you take out the stupid wedding thing with the humans. ( They can totally find a less conveluted way of introducing G.U.N.) and shorten a couple other scenes. Hands down great game movie. ROBOTNIK MAID WUT Loved Carey amping it up on his role and Elba basically made Knuckles Drax 2.0 and i am here for it. They definitelt embraced a lot of the nods to games/comics and some of the looks. I wouldn't be surprised if the Knuckles series is him finding the scattered emeralds. Sonic 3. EMO SONIC! Give us fat Eggman! Carey says he wants the fatsuit!!! ISO Share this post Link to post

webhead 518 Posted May 23, 2022 Watched both Sonic movies. Honestly they were just really fun (stupid but fun) movies. I went back and looked at ugly Sonic again and I cannot thank those animators enough for fixing that fucking nightmare. But seriously just a ton of fun. It's about the best you could ask for from a Sonic movie honestly. Sonic 2 credits spoiler: Spoiler I really don't think a movie about SHADOW is really the best direction but I guess we'll see. I only remember him being in garbage games I didn't want to play. 1 ISO Share this post Link to post
MT 879 Posted August 7, 2022 Bullet Train Pretty fun movie, good action and some interesting cameos. Don't know if I need to see it again, but I had a good time. I bet it would look amazing on an OLED in 4K. ISO Share this post Link to post
Tassifox 404 Posted August 7, 2022 I enjoyed it a lot. The fight scenes gave a good classic Jackie Chan feels, dialogue was fun and witty. Soundtrack was top notch and overall it was just a fun movie. Pretty much what I expected out of it from what the trailer showed. Fucking 🍊 ISO Share this post Link to post
MT 879 Posted January 29 Glass Onion I didn't like it as much as Knives Out, but the characters made it a fun movie. ISO Share this post Link to post
Tassifox 404 Posted February 2 The characters were super fun. But i felt the sluthing was more fast paced than the first one which probably took out some of the big mystery out. The Menu This was sooooo fucking good! Got my 2 favorite things! Horror and food porn. Def recommend it. Amsterdam Been wanting to watch this and i got HBO free this week so playing catch up. Great story, phenomenal cast. And remember folks, fuck fascists. ISO Share this post Link to post

Psycho666Soldier 254 Posted February 2 I saw Birdman for the first time last night. What a ride that is. Definitely one of those movies that has a lot of replay value. ISO Share this post Link to post
MT 879 Posted February 5 Finally got around to seeing Nope. I really liked it. Definitely better than Us, but I didn't like it nearly as much as Get Out. The sound design in this movie is INCREDIBLE. That scene inside the alien after it eats all those people at Stephen Yuen's show, holy shit that was horrific. The sounds of their screams, even as the alien thing flies around, only to have them suddenly cut off with a crunch was intense. ISO Share this post Link to post
MT 879 Posted March 16 6 Underground Typical Michael Bay action movie, starring Ryan Reynolds. Enjoyable action, if a lot over the top. Probably a 7/10. 1 ISO Share this post Link to post
Tassifox 404 Posted March 16 Oh yea it's one of the few Michael Bay movies i enjoy. I won't lie it's mainly because of Ryan Renolds being in it but it's pretty straight forward too so i agree with that scoring. ISO Share this post Link to post
h2ojunkie 84 Posted March 18 Took me three nights because I have been tired but I watched Everything Everywhere All At Once. It was pretty good. I can see why it won some awards. ISO Share this post Link to post
MT 879 Posted April 9 The Super Mario Bros Movie I liked it quite a bit. Went into it expecting a kids movie, which it totally was. There were lots of easter eggs, and I'm sure I missed a bunch. Its an entertaining hour and a half. Jack Black was the best out of all the voice actors. Chris Pratt I didn't mind nearly as much as I thought I would, oddly enough Seth Rogen as DK was my least favorite. I went into it thinking he was perfect, but not afterwards. Vic Boss 609 Posted April 9 Loved the shit out of the Mario movie. Loved the references, easter eggs, IRL old music choices, the philosophical Luma, Jack Black as Bowser (those fucking songs), how they made you not care in like 2 minutes that Charles Martinet wasn't the voice, and how it was only 90ish minutes so by the end you wanted more. Favourite Easter Eggs The F-Zero and Punch Out fighter posters in the diner Charles Martinet playing Donkey Kong in said diner The Donkey Kong Country Returns rocket barrel Mario power-sliding into boosts during the Rainbow Road kart sequence How Mario's dad looked like Talon from OoT ISO Share this post Link to post
Mera'din 306 Posted April 9 Took my son to see it. Was definitely better than it seemed like it would be. Also, that's the first time I've seen a line going out the door to get into our small town theater since the 90s. O_o Definitely agree on Seth Rogan as Donkey Kong. He was one of the ones where I was like "this seems like it will work" but it just didn't. Didn't feel like he was really trying that hard. Christ Pratt still definitely just sounded like Chris Pratt most of the time, but he seemed like he was at least trying, and it didn't feel like a distraction. The rest were pretty great overall. Definitely loved all the little references and stuff too. The story being simple really worked for it and let them fit in a lot of stuff they might not have otherwise. The Luma was definitely my favorite character. I loved that it never even explained it or why it was like that too. Also watched Dungeons & Dragons last night. It has a few issues, but overall it was really well done. Wasn't feeling it much in the first 1/3 or so of the movie, but it improved pretty quickly after that and ended up being a lot of fun by the end. There's a lot they did right in it overall, so I'm glad they finally figured out how to make stuff like this not suck between it and Vox Machina. XD ISO Share this post Link to post
h2ojunkie 84 Posted April 11 Sounds like my kids want to go see the mario movie this weekend. ISO Share this post Link to post

MT 879 Posted June 6 The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent I'm not sure what to think about this movie. I didn't hate it, didn't love it. Maybe a high 6/low 7 out of 10. ISO Share this post Link to post

MT 879 Posted July 31 Fast 9, or F9 or whatever it's called This series has been over the top for a bit now, but I think it may have fully jumped the shark in this one. They actually had the audacity to mention sticking to the laws of physics in one later scene, when 90% of the stuff they've done earlier in the film totally throws physics out the window. It was enjoyable for a stupid shut your brain off type movie, but I couldn't shut mine off enough I guess. ISO Share this post Link to post
MT 879 Posted August 4 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem Such a great movie, I loved every second of it. The turtles felt like actual brothers in this movie, and they nailed everyone's characters so god damn well. I'd heard the actors playing the TMNT were in the recording booth at the same time to make them riffing off of each other pretty natural. Lots of good pop culture references, without seeming like they were trying to hard to fit them in. Paul Rudd as Mondo Gecko was a fucking awesome choice, and i'm really looking forward to the sequel. My only real "complaint": Is that Baxter Stockman didn't become the fly character. I think it's sort of implied the baby fly and Baxter sort of merged together with the mutagen, kind of like he did at the end with all the animals in the park. I'm assuming it was so they could have a bad guy that dies off and not have it "wasted" on a character like Baxter. ISO Share this post Link to post
MT 879 Posted August 20 Gran Turismo Wasn't really excited about seeing it, but my partner and his friend are big into driving so we all went to see it. It was enjoyable for what it was, outside of it being 100% predictable. The driving scenes were really well done, and it had some cool shots of the action, but it's definitely not a movie anyone should rush out to see. I also didn't realize it was based on a true story. 1 ISO Share this post Link to post
Tassifox 404 Posted August 23 I mean true stories are one of the last resorts for movies since there hasn't been anything original out. But that's my thoughts on those since, like much of anything that gets a film adaptation, "Based on" is a very loose term. I watched Game Night on Hulu since i've seen a few friends speak good things on it. And holy crap it was more fun and insane than i was expecting it for. 8/10 for sure. Rulkster 47 Posted August 23 Haunted Mansion Took my niece and nephew to a movie and apparently they were really looking forward to seeing this so off we went. It's a kids movie obviously but had a decent amount of humor to keep me entertained. I'd recommend watching it with some little ones. ISO Share this post Link to post
MT 879 Posted September 9 Uncharted it was fun for what it was, once you don't worry about it not being based on any of the game stories. There were some fun action sequences, especially the final one. I wish they picked someone other than Mark Wahlberg to play Sully, it's too hard to think of him as anything but Mark Wahlberg.
