I figured this would be a cool place to just share what new things you've been trying/cooking lately.  Since we're home all the time we've been cooking more (we still do takeout because we're fat but we're also trying new stuff).

Jovanna made this last night and it was legitimately awesome:

I love lasagna and this is a way to do it that's low carb and doesn't just disappoint you by using something dumb  as a replacement for the pasta. :rotfl:

That's a lorra lorra cheese  Bet it was good. :liplick:

Speaking of cheese, we like this (esp if we have leftover halloumi from wraps or burgers or want a fancy starter):

It says slices but we usually do little cubes. :) Good quality honey and the oregano and sesame seeds = yum yum yum. (and really ridiculously easy to make for how good it is.)

Ginger butter Noodles:

ingredients:

- Salt

- Noodles of choice

- Butter (at least 2 tablespoons)

- Olive oil

- Powdered Ginger

- Black pepper

- Garlic powder

Cook your noodles to your preferences, drain then re-add to the pot that has had the butter and oil added (not too much oil) stir until the butter and oil has emulsified together (make sure the pot is on the same eye you cooked the noodles in but with the heat turned off to aid in the process) into a pseudo-sauce coating the noodles. Add the remaining seasonings and stir it all together.

optional: add powdered parmesan after plating

Time for something sweet!

These are to die for. Green food coloring is optional.

Awww, I'd try these but a certain person I live with doesn't like mint chocolate/mint desserts. :nono:  :screwy:

Edit: he does like whisky, though... maybe we could try some without the mint :liplick:

I don't hate mint, but mint and chocolate together? No fucking thank you.

Honestly I find mint better with dark chocolate vs milk.

I've done this "low and slow" wings recipe a couple times with good results: https://www.macheesmo.com/slow-roasted-chicken-wings/

Definitely not a summertime recipe if you don't have air conditioning though! We are trying to avoid using our oven at all costs right now, much too hot in the apartment.

I know this is basically the same recipe, but these 3 are what I have tried to resounding success.

I've got a version of that but it's more fun when you bake it at the end to get the tots a little crispy. :O

Tots get pretty crispy in a slow cooker up top.

Really?  Interesting.  I wouldn't have expected that.

It may depend on the slow cooker and settings. I'll track notes next time I make it.

We just got our first hellofresh box and Lee made us this tonight! It's really really good. Shame we can't make the other recipes since they fucked our box up :sweatdrop: I mean, we can, but it requires a trip to the grocery. They only gave us 2 meats and one of them was steak and our box was supposed to be 2 chicken recipes and 1 fish so.... oops. They comped the whole box cost though so I ain't mad. I will report in here with other recipes that strike our fancy from there as we go!

Oh yeah I should start dropping HF recipes in here too.

I really preferred them to Blue Apron so good choice!  I'm sure you're going to like their shit.  We saved a stack of their recipe cards. :D

Made this lasagna, didn't do the "layer of basil" shit, just added some basil

18 confirmed "Best lasagna I've ever had"

edit: every time he recommended a change, I did that
