Something you're holding in your hands...yes. Also being able to run games better in general would be nice. Opens up more possibilities.

I don't think the old plan is changing any.

We're getting Double Dragon II, Volleyball, and City Connection added to the NES thingy in June.

I find myself wanting to buy a yellow one

This I can see being a good reason. For the time being, there are good enough sales regularly on the original that the lower price point is not really that attractive.

I guess you could zip tie that thing down. I don't know about the older kids, but Tyrion will definitely break it in whatever 2 second span you aren't watching him.

I got a Turquoise one! But I haven't played it much yet, and may not until Pokémon comes out (I got it on pre-order because we could get it at a higher Argos discount for a limited time, which meant I saved £30 on full price). First impressions of the hardware are good - it has a nice feel to it, and the size difference to the original Switch is such that you don't feel the screen size suffers much, but it's more comfortable to hold and definitely that bit more portable. Also, with the OG Switch in handheld mode you do occasionally feel like the joy-cons are at risk of clicking off the main body of the machine without you meaning to, which isn't a disaster but it can be a bit awkward and it's just something you're quietly aware of. With the Lite that isn't an issue. Although the Primary/Secondary Switch setup business is still confusing and a bit of a nightmare (especially re: saves and so on), I was relieved to learn that although you need Wifi to play games downloaded onto your primary Switch from your secondary Switch, it literally just uses it for a second to check the game isn't in use. You don't have to maintain a connection the whole time, which is what I initially thought they meant (which would obviously be pointless and awful). So it seems like you can literally just set up a wifi hotspot on your phone for a minute, let the Lite connect to it then disconnect and keep playing.

Yeah, as long as they don't get rid of the old plan, I won't holler too much other than my own laments. If they were upgrading all this to dash away the old plan, I'd be a bit more up in arms about it.

My sister's already got it pre-ordered, she's gotten in collecting Nintendo handheld shit

Yeah, don't need an OLED Switch with a slightly larger screen.

That Direct was somehow hype without the big guns and now the N64/Genesis expansion feels worth the $$$

Thanks folks! That's good to know. Same! ...I'm one of the minority who really liked the GameCube one too, even though it took such a different approach (it didn't get all the gameplay right but it was so sweet and atmospheric). Though those two came out at around the same time, I think...the games have been more confused since then. I do have the 1st Story of Seasons on 3DS but I don't think I really got into it for some reason. I'm a sucker for aesthetics, though, and this one looks great.

Have a system dedicated for handheld and TV separately. It would be like having Gameboy and Super Gameboy/Gameboy Player or Vita/PS TV. Mainly it's because personally I don't like the dock., which is why I use my system 90% of the time as a handheld.

3 Wins on Mario 35 so far

I disagree, but in the same aspect if you already own a standard Switch then the Switch Lite is pointless to begin with. Just like the 2DS was pointless if you already owned a 3DS. Honestly I rather have a Switch Lite + a device that allows me to just put in a cart instead of docking my system every time.

Ohhh, I gotcha Also I knew I recognize the LA style from somewhere

Wow, that's pretty brutal timing for otherwise important annual life events

And less of a loss when they inevitably find a way to break it.

I never played any of the others, because the gameplay never interested me all that much, but the last Hyrule Warriors wasn't canon, so I have a bit more incentive to give this one a shot.

According to Nintendos website it supports any game that supports the mobile feature.
