Bungo Dogs keeps being great! Big reveal was good and i can't wait for the upcoming fight!

Yeah, I forgot to mention that one. Atsushi is in tough right now. The reveal and the end of this week's episode was very exciting to see and I am hyped for next week! Also, Ranpo continues to be awesome. Kinda mis-read the situation with Fukuchi though :uhoh:

  2. Wouldn't it be wild and crazy if the Rays (or the O's for that matter!) swung a deadline deal for Ohtani and then won the World Series this year!

Also, how about that dumb injury for Kelenic? Not looking great for the M's this year.

  3. JJK #3 - Glad that I didn't have login issues with Crunchyroll last night!

Seeing this fight animated was awesome. Gojo got absolutely wrecked by Megumi's dad. What a vicious dude

:O.O: I am hyped for the showdown with Geto next week!

  4. Yeah, the shrinking chapter phenomenon is a bit of a bummer... but, like you say, as long as it's quality, who cares about the page count. On the other hand, if this went to a monthly release schedule like DB Super (or SnK before) and each new chapter was 40-something pages, I would absolutely love that too!

  5. Otoboke Beaver are indeed fantastic. Very fun and infectious!

I went down a bit of a YouTube rabbit hole list night on the Domi & JD Beck channel watching a bunch of their videos and shorts. Holy cow, Domi is a talented pianist.

  6. re: Chainsaw Man

Yeah, totally just a distraction. Denji is really in a rut right now and needs to break out of it. Asa is easily the more compelling character since the manga came back, not Denji. And I was pretty on-the-fence about Asa at first. She has since won me over. I'm sure Denji will get his groove back soon enough.

Another new DB Super chapter today, more of the movie of course, but I'm still looking forward to reading it. Related: DB Super: Super Hero is streaming on Crunchyroll now, so I think I'm going to re-watch it soon. I really enjoyed it at the theatre.

  7. Online reaction to the latest patch in advance of Season 1 of D4 seems to be universally negative... so that's not a good sign for the game... but maybe they will fix all of these problems by the time you guys actually find time to play the game!

Someone give him the badge that says "I did the thing everyone else did 10 years ago"

More like 20+ years ago at this point :rotfl:

I am bringing back the retro posting style from simpler times of the Internet :nerdy:

  9. :tumbleweed:

I still don't own anything capable of playing Diablo IV, so I don't have any hands-on experience, but I've watched a lot on YouTube. I've seen enough to know I won't love this game, but I do still want to try it out someday.

Did any of you guys and gals actually buy it? Play it lots? Thoughts?

  10. The first bit was giving me some shoegaze / my bloody valentine kinda vibes (which is of course a good thing!) but then it swerved a bit (though also not in a bad way). Cool track. I will search for more :music:

I have been listening to quite a bit of DOMi and JD Beck this week. When you listen to the entire album it all starts to sound a bit same-y to me, but they are a couple of talented kids doing some cool stuff. Their collabs with Thundercat are great too.

It goes under the radar a bit, but Thundercat's bass line in "Bowling" is awesome IMO

  11. Hooray you're back

Glad you're enjoying Skip and Loafer so far. It is truly one of my favourite shows in a while.

And, yeah, you've gotta give Hell's Paradise a go. Even if it mostly seems weird and dumb and bad, it sucks you in anyways. And it legit gets better, actually quite good, in the latter part of the season. But even when you think it might be bad, it is still compelling somehow.

  12. JJK has been very good. So has Horimiya  You gotta catch up on it sooner or later!

I decided last night when I couldn't sleep last night to Ayaka one more trying. I made it through all three episodes, and it does get a bit better than my bad first impression where I dropped it after like 90 seconds  But it's still not that great. I'm gonna keep watching to try to will a good original anime into existence this season... but it's not looking great...

  13. Maybe the whole point of the Culling Game is to actually kill all the manga readers :rotfl: :rotfl:

I didn't check out Ice-Head Gill. I kind of got out of the habit of checking out every new series. I'm already following quite a few. Sort of waiting for something to end before I start on yet another new one.

  14. Sorry to hear about the pain situation :-/ Hope you're doing better these days.

I agree that some things needed more breathing room, more time. A lot happened in this series. Particularly the second half. I am also curious about Miorine's mum. Part of me likes the open-ended-ness of that, where we can all use our imaginations to fill in the blanks. But if there was a special or OVA that fleshed that out, I'd totally be up for watching it

I totally agree with Lee re: the first half. I wanted less school and more big robots in space. I thought the second half of the series was FANTASTIC overall! :shiny:

Outside of a special or OVA, I wouldn't mind just leaving this timeline alone, one series and done. This was a very good series. If they continue the timeline somehow, I'll definitely still watch; I guess I'd just be a bit worried that a sequel or prequel series doesn't live up to this one and then kind of taints the whole thing for me. Though they managed to get to 50 episodes total with Iron-Blooded Orphans, which I remember liking a lot, so maybe there is more room to work with this timeline yet.

  15. I haven't yet but maybe I will.

A few other titles I forgot to touch on in my last post:

Choujin X has had some more somewhat regular releases lately and I have still been enjoying it.

:rotfl: at this week's chapter of Chainsaw Man. That was super random :fup:

  16. Sheesh, no replies since May 20. We all need to do a bit better, it seems!

. @Psycho666Soldier and @Anelle -- are you still keeping up with anything in Jump? I have kept up with everything that I was following, though I haven't checked out many new things in May/June/July except for the latest new one...

The new one this week -- Wild Strawberry -- was off to a pretty decent start. I'll keep reading it. It's interesting, having watched the Hell's Paradise (Jigokurako) anime during the spring season, to see the whole flowers-blooming-out-of-people thing happening again, albeit in a different context. There are some very beautiful (and gory) visuals in both!

This week's Sakamoto Days (#127) was harsh. RIP Hyo ??? What a bummer man, he was a great dude :(

I have really enjoyed recent chapters of The Elusive Samurai. Kinda weird to see Tokiyuki and co. basically beg forgiveness of the Mikado, but I guess it was their only play. The new character (Akiie) is something else lol. Also I am on the fence about the ninja girl, but I don't think she's going to betray Tokiyuki's crew to the Tengu. I have a gut feeling about that.

JJK is a bit of a hot mess. The Culling Game may never end :rotfl: Recent chapters have at least had some good action, but damn it's confusing.

The competition happening right now in Akane-banashi has been great and I am pulling so hard for Akane. Win or lose, I am loving what is going on.

Beat and Motion is similar to Akane-banashi in that I am just really enjoying what it's all about--no complaints about either series.

Ichinose Family is starting to lose me again... but I know I will keep reading it anyways

I think that's about it for my rando thoughts on manga...

  17. It's over

After how up-and-down the first half was for me, I was a bit surprised how much I got into the second part of the series. Night and day difference. I didn't love everything about the ending... but this was still a very strong series in the end.

    @Anelle @Lucy @Vic Boss where'd you go :crying2:
