Honestly I've painted nerf guns and added to them for steampunk gear, so props for cosplay/LARP/all the things like that. It works. Especially for some of my friends who have the mad painting skills from painting DnD or other tabletop figures.

Here's a gun I did for a steampunk look I did. First photo is the painting and adding the two tubes.

The 2nd here we added little LED lights that would light the gun up when I pulled the trigger, then added the 3rd little tube in the back, the water. The front was gonna have a needle so that it looked like an injection gun. I was going for a mad scientist apothecary type look.

  2. Baby Driver

Fun car stuff, good energy, I liked the music gimmick... It's kind of like Edgar Wright making a movie whose premise is one of his trademarky "things". Basically an AMV writ large.

    Unsatisfying ending.

  3. Coming to the end of I Am A Cat (Soseki again). Was good. Wasn't sure how a book of cat-observations managed to be so big, but as it turns out it's split between cat stuff and observed conversations and actions of a schoolteacher and his mates and family, with the cat-observations becoming less and the teacher stuff coming to the fore. It's not unlike Salinger, just trending a bit sillier. (Not a bad silliness).

Since everyone in this topic bar me is either reading Earthsea, or has read Earthsea, next book is going to be first four books of Earthsea...

Or; The First Socialist Schism - Bakunin vs. Marx in the International Working Men’s Association. Going to flip a coin about it.

  4. My crippling egotism prevents me from posting anything on the internet which isn't a step-by-step dismantling of someone's wikipedia assembled flat tax proposal, followed by shrieking rap boasts about how good I am at reading fat books. I'm struggling to find a niche here.
