dr. b 495 Posted September 28 I think Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo! is an absolute classic, must-listen record for any fan of punk / post punk / new wave / etc. That album is so good start to finish. Their subsequent releases were a bit more hit and miss, like they would have some choice cuts but also some duds, not exactly completely solid albums. Also, the concept of Devo opening for MCR is pretty funny. The OG lineup from Devo are all boomers and the band was formed before Gerard Way was even born. Devo must have felt pretty old on that tour ISO Share this post Link to post
dr. b 495 Posted Thursday at 11:25 PM Mani, bass player of The Stone Roses and later Primal Scream, died His bass lines were such a big part of my favourite Stone Roses tracks. Have to listen to this one tonight, really loud, through my best headphones ISO Share this post Link to post
Psycho666Soldier 291 Posted Saturday at 03:41 AM What Stone Roses tracks would you recommend? I remember some Primal Scream, but don't think I ever actually listened to Stone Roses ISO Share this post Link to post
dr. b 495 Posted Saturday at 11:35 AM If you want something a bit more upbeat: “She Bangs the Drums” or “This is the One” Something a bit more psychedelic: “Waterfall” Moodier and a bit heavier: “I Wanna Be Adored” and “Made of Stone” If you like some of these tracks then you’ll probably enjoy the whole album. Their style was a mix of indie rock, 60s-esque pop and psychedelia, and dance-y vibes. I don’t enjoy their second record as much, and unfortunately they never did anything after that, but the self-titled album is IMHO a masterpiece that I never get tired of.
