  1. Finishing the last ep of Good Night World. It started out well enough but holy fuck shit goes nuts come ep 7-8. And just goes full throttle of (as Nelle put it) "we're doing this? Kay we're doing this". I feel like they tried to cram a lot of shit of the story into those 12 eps and........meh? Def some inconsistency there. 🙃

  2. A couple of my friends who I talk series with asked me if I was watching Frieren since they've been liking it. They said it does pick up from the slowness I couldn't get through so I will probably give it more of a watch later down the line.

  3. *A wild Nelle enters the feild!*

I haven't gotten around to watch Undead/Unluck yet. So far been playing catchup with stuff along with my list for Fall Season right now. It may end up being an off season watch since it's on Hulu.

Nelle right now you really ain't missing much with Shield Hero. And the Frieren one i tried but it is too slow paced in the beginning to where i can't focus on it. Nice world building and good animation but just can't atm.

I still need to watch ep 3 of Migi/Dali but right now it's just enough weird and curious to keep me in.

It's definitely the sort of thing that takes some stretching of the imagination, but it's worth it for the joke.  That said, I think the point they try to paint through the series is that Loid actually does care for Yor, and because of that he lets his guard down around her and doesn't think straight.  When she seems upset, rather than rationally thinking it through, he's both worried about the mission AND having somehow upset Yor, and having to deal with that more personal fear throws his brain out the window.

I loved this episode.  Great way to come back, and I remember these chapters being a hoot to read in the manga.  I really can't get over how much the anime amplifies everything with little touches.  Anya's faces in this were priceless as usual, and the bit at the end where she learned how to make a peanut bomb by reading the dude's thoughts was so ridiculous it was brilliant.

I'm also into the new OP.  Both the music and the visuals were great.  Spy x Family is 3/3 so far in that department.

    Spoiler

Omg I also laughed at the fact they were bleeping out the ingredients for bomb making. Like "Yes this is a cartoon and ingredients aren't most likely that real. But on the off chance someone actually is stupid enough to attempt, we're just censor it" :rotfl: Anya's gonna be a better spy than Twilight one day when she's grown enough.

  5. Migi to Dali is definitely gonna be a weird anime. The way the twins set up stuff on that old couple is making me super curious of what the big picture is going to be in the long run

    Spoiler

Which if that clip of the woman dying in the beginning has shown. Most likely gonna be a revenge story of weird ass porportions

Kamonohashi Ron is basically another spin of the Sherlock Holmes/Watson or "Quirky super intelligent cop mystery" trope. But seeing that twist at the end is got me intrigued of how this quirk will play out. So I'm gonna give this one a couple eps more.

Shield Hero did a nice recap of "here's the sitch and what we're doing now" Not surprised at the route it's taking now but hope it's at least a little better than last season was.

And everything else that's aired so far on my list other than Dr. Stone yet has made me squee. :love3:

  6. OUR FAVORITE FAMILY IS BACK UP ON THE ANIME FINALLY!

    Ep 1 new season

    Spoiler

I could not stop laughing at Yor's expression from the pain of the gunshot wound. :rotfl: I can't wait for that to turn into a gif because that expression is such a fucking MOOD.
Nightfall being totally clueless about why Yor couldn't sit down or thinking she was mad at him. I mean yes, her expression did look more mad than in pain. But you think being a super smart spy that he is that he would start putting 2+2 that there was some sort of reason Yor refused to sit down in the places they went to on their date. lol Oh well, made great material for the episode. And Anya being the glue holding it together as always is just too cute.

Also, I saw it pointed out somewhere (I think reddit) that the guy playing Jet also played Bushmaster in season 2 of Luke Cage. Blew my mind

Was I the only one knowing that going into this show? When they first announced the cast and I kinda recognized him I IMDB'd him and found that out. I really liked how he portrayed Jet.

And fucking hated what the director pulled on Fay and Julia. They were both such strong characters in their own way and his calls on the changes in their story and personalities pissed me off so much.

The only takeaway I can do with this show is I hope that it gets new fans from the LA into seeing the source material. It had great possibility in being a great show but Netflix just makes shitty calls.

Season 2 is off to a pretty great start. Can't believe it's been two years since the first season. Really good to see Loki and Moebius interact again, and Ke Huy Quan fits right in with the rest of 'em.

That whole conversation between OB and Moebius in the present, and between Loki and OB in the past, bouncing back and forth, was a fun time. Curious to see if we'll get to see any other Kang variants at any point. I haven't heard anything about the allegations against Jonathan Majors in a while, so I don't know if that's still a thing, or if it ever was.

Absolutely loved how this started. Ke Huy is just so freaking delightful and I love everything he's brought into OB.

    Spoiler

Honestly since we saw a good chunk of variants in the latest Ant Man movie and the post credit easter egg that shows Loki and Moebius in one of the branches watching one of Kang's variants failing miserably on a stage. It is most likely going to happen that we see more than one. Moebius in the AM easter egg was having a hard time believing that the Kang they were seeing on stage was this Big Bad that Loki was going on about in this first ep so they might see another one that basically shows "Yea see there? Fucking told you didn't I?"

What I'm curious about is what is Silvie doing all the way in bum fuck nowhere in Oklahoma in the freaking 80's? And that's implying that it's in our branch of the 80's. (Although the clip from the latest McDonalds commercial I've seen makes me looking forward to when she and Loki are reunited again.  )

  9. Netflix has ep 9 for Zom 100 and I'm assuming Hulu does too. I'm hoping they don't keep up with the breaks in between eps because it's LITERALLY 3 EPS LEFT. Especially now that we have a Dark Akira variant here it seems.

Ending of HoriMiya was adorable and the after credits stuff made me laugh so hard.

As for Bungo Dogs. S6, gonna be IN THE FUUUUUTUUUUUUUREEEEEE OOOOOOOOOOO! (I mean it would legit not surprise me if it's heading in that direction now after the post credit bit with new God Mod Baddie since we now have a weapon that basically defies time and space here).

  10. Yup Bungo ends this week. Andost everything else that isn't carrying over into Fall Season is wrapping up with at least 2 more eps between this week and next week.

I feel a liiiiiittle called out with ep 8 of Zom:100

    Spoiler

I would be 'THAT' foreigner chick who would fight thru zombies for 🍣

WHY DOES KENSHO HAVE TO GET NAKED ALMOST EVERY EP?! (other than the hot spring part because duh)

  11. That's how i kinda feel about U/U. The concept of the story -sounds- like it might be good. But watching the trailers gives me meh feelings. Like yea you have initial wth factor but i feel like it'd be short lived.

I will eventually watch the new FLCL when it hits the Crunchyroll app... setting the expectations very low because it might be bad. At least we will always have the original to re-watch

I just rewatched FLCL: Alternative and Progressive. A lot of it will always confuse tf outta me from the symbolism but the jist i've always gotten is Haruko always used the feelings of blooming adolescence to more or less track down her unrequited love from the first FLCL. Progressive probs could have not been made honestly and i'm not looking forward to there being 3D for Grunge (which takes place after Alternative) but maybe it won't be shit quality.

  12. As we near the end of Summer. Time for the Fall Lineup! Looks like it'll be mostly returning stuff for me on this lineup but we'll see if anything new catches my eye. https://anichart.net/Fall-2023

Shield Hero S3- Here's to hoping we pick up some slack in this.
Goblin Slayer- Looking forward to more fantasy gore.
    SPYXFAM S2!!!!!!!!! FINALLY
Part 2 of Dr. Stone: New World
Saihate no Paladin S2- I know this was a nice easy paced series so I'm looking forward to this
MAHOUTSUKE YOME S2 PT 2!!!!!!!- Gods yes plz moar
FLCL:GRUNGE AND SHOEGAZE?! YAAAAAAS MORE LOVE SICK HARUKO PLEASE!

    New stuff/Maybes:
Undead Unlock: Not sure how I feel about it. I'll give it a couple eps but might not vibe with me
Apothecary Diaries: Sucker for period pieces and looks like it has some murder mystery involved a little.
Mig to Dali: Weird mystery. Sounds...interesting enough to try it out.

Like seriously other than what is returning and leftovers from Summer (not going over movies and OVA) There is not a lot in new content that's catching my fancy.

  13. I'm assuming there was reasons for it. BUT FINALLY A NEW EP OF JUJUTSU KAISEN.

I know i've spouted my hatred for recap eps before. I still hates them.

Also not sure what was up with only getting a new ep of Zom 100 off and on the last few weeks. I'm hoping it doesn't keep that up because we're getting to a good point in story here.

    Horimiya still fucking wholesome.

Most of the other new stuff i'm following is still good too.

  14. I mean true stories are one of the last resorts for movies since there hasn't been anything original out. But that's my thoughts on those since, like much of anything that gets a film adaptation, "Based on" is a very loose term.

I watched Game Night on Hulu since i've seen a few friends speak good things on it. And holy crap it was more fun and insane than i was expecting it for. 8/10 for sure.

  15. My condolences to you and fam on your sister and hope your dad's health goes on the up from here.

Many congrats on everything else. I'm glad that there's been some good to balance the rough half of the year and hope it continues to be on the up and up. Good to hear from ya and hope things kinda settle enough to hear more updates.

  16. Okay thank you, it wasn't just me who felt that part was weird to throw in. But *shrugs* maaaybe it may make sense later? Or maybe there was something missed from manga->anime adaptation that we don't know about.

Bastard!! S2 finally started so been slowly binging. And holy crap idk if it's just me but they threw in way more comedy/4th wall breaking and it takes me back to the days of Dragon Half :rotfl:
