They just announced Shang Tsung will be in the game, and he's portrayed by the guy who played him in the original MK movie, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa Here's a list of the confirmed, playable characters revealed so far:

Ugh, last week's Xur mission took place exclusively on Mercury. One part had you killing Hive which are seemingly only found on one Adventure in the Infinite Forest that you have to get from Brother Vance. So that whole thing took forever. Now this week's flashpoint is ALSO on Mercury. WHY?
