Gotta get back into Cosmic Star Heroine, I should be able to finish it this week... but anime and music have been taking up all of my free time in the evenings recently I really should play some more tonight though. If I put down a game for a few days and lose momentum then I usually never finish it

I haven't watched the latest episode yet. Maybe tonight. I still can't decide if I like this show or not, but I keep watching anyway. It's one of those.

What out-of-season anime have you watched recently?
dr. b replied to Vic Boss's topic in Anime & Manga
For a week or so now, I've been watching one or two episodes of City Hunter every night before bed. I've got nothing decent left to read before bed and the library is still closed (until the end of June!). It's an 80's anime, just absolutely screams 80's, and it's a good mixture of dumb and fun and occasionally quite touching. So far (20-ish episodes in) it is mostly episodic, easy to follow along without having to remember much. All of it is on Crunchyroll, well over 100 episodes and a few movies, so City Hunter will be my bedtime story for the foreseeable future I also still need to pick an anime to watch with my kiddo now that we've finished Flying Witch. I wasn't sure if she would find the slice of life style boring, because all of the other cartoons she watches are nothing like that, but she never seemed to lose interest. -
A straw has two ends but I'm not sure it has any holes

I'm about half way through Cosmic Star Heroine now. It's not a super long game, which is fine by me. Really enjoying it so far. I might have a go at the super hard difficulty after. Makes me wish I could play Cthulu Saves the World on Switch too. I think I deleted my Steam account and I don't think it's available anywhere else...

Cosmic Star Heroine is on sale on the eShop for $1.89 so I grabbed it and just started on it. Only like 45 minutes in, but I so far so good. I've been wanting to play this game a long time. Originally I would have played it on Vita, but the Vita release took forever... and then last year I sold my Vita. I didn't realize it was ported to Switch shortly after the Vita release At least I get to play it now!

Bass guitar Maybe I'll start on Songbird Symphony today

Some games based on anime are on sale on the eShop now in the "AniMay" sale -- does anybody have an opinion on any of the Dragon Ball games? @Vic Boss Is the One Piece musou game worth it for $12.50 CAD? I don't know nothin' about One Piece, but is it fun anyway? If Tales of Vesperia and Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth were discounted a bit more I'd probably bite on those, but I will hold off for now. There's a good chance I wouldn't actually finish them so I don't want to pay much
-
I might check that out (someday (when it goes on sale (could be a long time because Nintendo games take forever to get cheap)))

Sounds like my kind of replay value. I don't care much about achievements/trophies, but I do like high score chasing and best time chasing once I'm good at a game, so if I'm into this game on the first play through then I'll probably play it a bunch more times
-
I don't remember much about the second game, but I played the shit out of OG Tony Hawk. It would be a blast to do it all over again.
-
If this is basically just the original games w/ updated graphics, I would totally buy this. Don't need to change anything, just fancy up the look a bit. I guess it's a PlayStation exclusive though... or at least a timed exclusive?
-
I've pretty much just been playing Street Fighter Alpha 2 in the SF 30th Anniversary Collection. Not even playing that much, just a bit here and there. More free time has gone to bass guitar and watching anime.

I've been curious but haven't pulled the trigger on it. Probably will wait for a sale price because I'm always a little suspicious, even if I'm also excited at the same time, when old games get resurrected. How long roughly does one play through of the game take? On par with the original games, or is it longer?

Good stuff, sounds like your plans are really coming together

Are you doing a fly in job, like waaaay out in the bush?

They couldn't come up with a better name than Xbox Series X? (Clearly I don't keep up with this stuff )

I won't be on the call!

Howdy Rulk. How are you keeping up these days?

I'll have to wait for BNA to hit North American Netflix, judging by how long it took for Carole and Tuesday to be available it will be months yet... but I'll definitely check it out when it pops up there.

Last night I watched episodes 4 and 5 of Gleipnir because I was bored, and then I moved along to a few more episodes of Darwin's Game because I couldn't sleep. It almost felt like I was watching the same show. Obviously the finer details are different, but there are parallels for sure.

I don't think linearity would bother me that much, especially these days when gaming time is limited for me and I don't want to waste time just figuring out where to go next. I'm OK with the game showing me the way in that respect. When I eventually got around to playing FFX a few years ago I enjoyed it and it was a very linear game compared to classic FF games. But I do think I would still much prefer a more classic FF battle system to what you guys have described for XIII and VII Remake.

Finished Id: Invaded last night and moved on to the first episode of Darwin's Game (that was pretty messed up )
