We got some fun new chapters today Dr. Stone # 206 Candy Flurry # 15 The Elusive Samura # 27 Ran out of time on lunch break to get to the new Hunters Guild chapter and to start reading Neru. Gonna get to those tonight. The best panel from Elusive Samurai:
  2. The Jays took 3 of 4 games from Boston this weekend! Friday night they thumped Boston and had a 9-run inning (glorious stuff), Saturday was a double-header with a couple of close games, and then today was a comeback win on a Springer 3-run homer. The Toronto bullpen is still a concern… but the lineup is so dangerous. They are on a roll since moving back to Toronto.

    Summer Anime 2021

I didn’t know there was going to be a movie but I guess I don’t need to watch it so all’s well
  4. I don’t go to conventions and stuff like that much for fun, but I normally hit quite a few trade shows throughout the year for work. The biggest one is pretty massive, every winter at the Metro Toronto Convention Center. Thousands and thousands of people go through the trade show each day. Gonna be kinda weird going back to that if they’re back in 2022. I haven’t been to any shows (except virtual ) since March 2020.

I was gonna read Neru last night but decided to read a book instead. It sounded interesting to me though. Guess I need to check it out this weekend!

Anybody else read the DC3 one-shot? There are some elements of a fun and interesting story in there, though I'm not sure if the author has any intention of doing anything else with it.
  8. While that is nice, I'd rather the Mariners just lose The Jays need to go on a run to get back into the Wild Card picture, but they also need some of the teams ahead of them to start losing more. I can't believe the M's are still doing as well as they are. Their record in one-run games is pretty incredible. When games aren't close though, they tend to lose a lot. The run differential isn't good.

Final Fantasy V - Four Job Fiesta

It’s not a very long game, particularly if you roll a favorable set of jobs. Play on an emulator with liberal use of fast forward and you’re done in a weekend

Final Fantasy V - Four Job Fiesta

Win #2 is in the books. My all-magic team consisted of Black Mage / Summoner / Red Mage / White Mage. Very fun, but too easy That’s probably it for me for this Fiesta. I might do the FF1 challenge now that Gilgabot threw down after the pixel remaster games launched.

Candy Flurry #14 — I figured this chapter would focus on Tsumugi, and I was looking forward to that, but the focus was instead on Irie. I won’t complain, she’s a pretty cool character The Elusive Samurai #26 — The political stuff in the first half was a bit of a bore, but it is a part of world this story takes place in. I like the mission that has been setup for the Elusive Warriors though. Should be some more action and excitement in the next couple chapters. Hunter’s Guild #5 — I think they got me hooked. I wanna know about witches and werewolves, magic, the Red List, etc. I am a sucker for this underdog kind of story. Go join the guild, Velou!
  12. Gotta figure that lots of people may never return to regular office work. So many jobs can be done remotely just fine. But some managers are sticklers for attendance, so it will take a while yet to convince those types that there’s nothing wrong with remote work.

    Today's Birthdays - Eizan

    Happy birthday Eizan!
  15. I guess we’ll find out soon if 70% is adequate. The delta variant is apparently more transmissible, so that could be a problem. But we do need to abandon the pandemic protocols eventually… I am just not convinced that it’s wise to do it as quickly as Alberta is doing it. I’m fascinated to see how things play out over there… from a very safe distance here in Ontario
  16. Yeah the Cubs really cleaned house. I agree that this deadline was nuts. I gotta read through MLBTR later to get caught up on everything. Between the trade deadline and all the stuff happening during NBA draft night last night, there have been so many interesting transactions to follow along with.
  17. The Blue Jays are apparently trading for Jose Berrios and Joakim Soria. Looks like Soria has been decent in the DBacks bullpen this year. And Berrios should be a great addition to the starting rotation, though the cost of acquiring him wasn't cheap. I'm no prospect-hugger, so I'll trade prospects any day of the week to get a proven big leaguer, but the guys they traded for Berrios were regarded pretty highly in the Jays' farm system.
  18. Yeah, I thought after the rumours last night that Scherzer to the Pads was a done deal Turner is of course a great pick-up as well. I guess this is the Dodgers telling the Giants and Padres to GTFO (I'm still having trouble wrapping my mind about this Giants team being in first place...) This is not going to be the Blue Jays year, I don't think. It will take a very strong finish to even get into the Wild Card play-in I still think they can stay competitive, and maybe even fight their way into the WC game, but it ain't gonna be easy. Joey Gallo would have fit the Jays' *so* well... and now he's a Yankee Truly the worst possible outcome.
  19. Over in Alberta they are very close to pretty much scrapping all pandemic protocols and restrictions: “The province announced Wednesday that Alberta will soon have no mandatory COVID-19 protocols: no more mandatory masking, contact tracing or isolating. It's part of a move to treat the coronavirus more like other respiratory viruses.” I guess they will basically treat COVID the same as the flu and other viruses go around. I think they will still recommend people who test positive to isolate, but it will not be mandatory. Sounds like they will also cut down on testing, only testing people with severe symptoms. This might not end well, but good luck Alberta! Eventually I think we will all need to do the same, but it might be too soon. Especially in Alberta where vaccine uptake has perhaps not been high enough yet. I guess they will just live with people getting sick.
  20. Yeah it’s pretty busy! Looks like the Dads are trying to go all-in.

Pixel Remaster versions of the first three Final Fantasy games release soon… tomorrow maybe? 4-6 follow later in the year. I’ll probably buy FFV again And if the organizer of the Four Job Fiesta does a special event for another one of the games, I’ll be tempted to grab them too…
  24. I got my second dose last week. I was tired for a couple days, but that was it. Some story for the wife. Easy peasy.
