Yeah, it's a bummer that they're not adding more perks. Looking at the Nintendo website, you can still buy the regular Switch Online family package for $35 / year. Switch Online + Expansion Pack is 'Coming Soon'... so I guess now's the time for people to lock in another year of the old plan before the changes take effect..?
-
Still only works out to like $3 / month per person if you and yer partner are splitting the cost of one year of the family plan. N64 and Genesis games aren't the greatest selling point to justify the price increase--it would be nice if they were adding more to make the higher price more palatable--but I'm still not convinced that it's an unreasonable price point, all things considered.

Self isolation, social distancing, sheltering in place, whatever else you call it

Yeah I'm very curious if there is security camera footage. It will be kinda funny if it was some cranky old boomer, like a 75 year old who doesn't look like they could throw a rock across the room, much less through a window. -
I am really enjoying the second part of Aquatope. Such a feel-good story, lots of very likeable characters. I am gonna be super bummed out when it finishes Episode 2 of takt op. Destiny was pretty solid too. Mappa and Madhouse have done great work so far, I think. It looks great, and there is some good music. I really liked the piano pieces in this episode. Only disappointment is that I'm not crazy about the OP or ED... I also watched the first episode of AMAIM something-or-other last night. It would be nice to have a new mecha series in my life, but I don't think it was very good. I fell asleep. Hey Sunrise, how about we just make a new Gundam series instead?

Some rocks were tossed through windows at a local pharmacy and restaurant the other day. They had anti-vaccine logos painted on them (like the 'no smoking' logo but with a needle instead of a cigarette) and some well-thought-out slogans like: "Fuck you commie", "Snake oil", and "Card carrying commie" I guess somebody was angry because they were asked to show proof of vaccination... what a stupid world we live in -
I like lower prices too of course, but I think they were leaving money on the table at $20 / year. It was bound to go up eventually. I get why some folks will be unhappy to see a big increase all at once, but it still only works out to a little over $4 / month at the new price for an individual. I don't think Nintendo is gouging people

$50 / year ain't that bad...

2021 Baseball Season AKA Pandemic Baseball: The Second Wave

I was not up that late It was an exciting game for what I saw of it though! One bad call wasn’t why the Giants lost, but yeah that’s usually not called a strike. He checked his swing. -
Zipped through Act III NM today while I was working from home It was actually pretty easy, but I expect Act IV to be more troublesome.
-
I finished Act II NM last night. My wolves and merc actually held up pretty well against Duriel, but my team’s damage was weak. Luckily I could switch to a runeword bow (‘Edge’) that grants a Thorns aura. Duriel basically killed himself. Without Thorns, it would have been a long battle. With Thorns, less than a minute.

Nah, I'm happy playing offline I re-spec'd my Druid and changed up my gear a bit, and that has made life much easier. I am soldiering on through Act II NM more easily. Still need more resistances and a better weapon though. I'll probably whip up an Ancient's Pledge next time I come across a 3-socket shield with decent defense.
-
I dunno. I play offline single player
-
I’d rather one season and done, good story with a satisfactory ending, but that’s just my preference.

Only two episodes left of Fena, I think?

I took a break from my Druid to play a Fireball Sorc for a few days this week. I got through to Act V super fast. Everything went down in a rain of Fireballs Yesterday I turned my attention back to the Druid, and I might be hitting a wall here in Act II NM with my current setup. I had been using bows, letting my Dire Wolves and merc do most of the work while plinking away from a safer distance. Seems like it's time to drop that strategy in favour of a good shield (really need some resistances) and a more powerful one-handed weapon. I'm also going to do a re-spec to drop a couple points into the Shapeshifting tree. 1 point each in Werebear and Lycanthropy will provide a nice little life boost, and then I'll get a point in Shock Wave too, to stun mobs and make it a little easier for my Wolves and merc to take care of business. Probably won't be able to find good enough gear to make this character viable in Hell unless I get some very lucky drops here in NM.

2021 Baseball Season AKA Pandemic Baseball: The Second Wave

I didn't think the Sox (either of them I guess) had it in them! I figured the Red Sox would lost to the Rays, and I didn't think the White Sox would even win a game against Houston. I still expect Houston to win their series against Chicago though. From the start, I was expecting a Houston vs. SF/LA match-up in the World Series. Looking more like SF than LA right now. I hope Houston, Atlanta, and SF all win tonight so we can just move along to the ALCS and NLCS I noticed headline about Tepera's comments about sign stealing stuff, but it sounds like they don't really have evidence... who knows! -
Dr. Stone Yeah, The Elusive Samurai has been great. I still think the final few panels of this chapter were pretty weird and hilarious though Hunter's Guild Neru continues to be great. This chapter was a good build up for what will hopefully be a very exciting chapter next week! I meant to have a look at Kaiju No. 8 a while back but never got around to it... 46 chapters won't be too hard to catch up on if I like, so maybe I'll have a look at that one night this week.

I watched the first episode of Platinum End. I will stop short of calling it good, but it was… interesting? It’s got some elements that kept me interested enough that I will watch more, but it could also lose me eventually. The main character’s back story was just a liiiiiittle over the top, but whatever. Props to him though for just wanting to die when an Angel was saving his life I was disappointed by his about face at the end though. Fuckin’ finding happiness or whatever, forget it… The series is supposed to be 24 episodes, and it looks like the manga finished this year, so I hope we get the full story in these 24 episodes..? I hope I’m not signing up to watch some super-long series here…

Yeah I was wondering that too… I’ll just wait for it to hit Netflix in Canada

A very feel-good episode of Aquatope this week
-
I'm working through Act I NM with my Druid now. It's been a cakewalk so far, but I'm sure it will become more of a challenge towards the end of NM.

Funi's licensed a few things I'm interested in this season, so if I renew my subscription then I'll have a look at Puraore too.

2021 Baseball Season AKA Pandemic Baseball: The Second Wave

I was hoping for a tight game, pitching duel, last night. I mostly got what I wanted from it, except the starters both exited pretty early. I guess that's just how the game is played these days. Managers are so quick to go to the bullpen. I'm with you on most of those picks. Rays in 4 -- Depending on which version of the Red Sox shows up, it could be an easy sweep for Tampa, or it could be a 5-gamer. If all the stars align then I think Boston can knock out Tampa... but Rays in 4 seems more likely. Astros in 3 -- The White Sox were a great regular season team, but the Astros as a team have so much more postseason experience. The White Sox have some great pitching, but the Astros scored more runs than any other team in the MLB this summer. That will win out over Chicago's pitching. I want to cheer for the White Sox. They have a lot of exciting young players, and it's fun to see new faces in the postseason... but they also have TLR... Brewers in 4 -- I'm also giving the Braves a game here, but I won't be shocked to see a 3-game sweep. Giants in 5 -- I have doubted the Giants all season, but I guess I have to be a believer now. 107 wins. They kept it up all season, somehow. This one should go 5 games, whoever wins. -
1) Taiko??? no Tatsujin Rhythmic Adventure Pack #1 2) Final ?Fantasy?? ???V 3) Chasm 4) Cosmic Star Heroine 5) Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker 6) Final Fantasy V (again?) 7) Diablo II: Resurrected Baal’s dead and I’m moving on to Nightmare. I’m not sure if my Druid will be viable in Hell, but Nightmare should be doable. My merc needs better gear to make my life easier though. I’m short one or two runes to make the rune words I want.
