  1. Was looking at a similar article. So we're probably looking at (at least right now) 3 separate timelines like Matt was basically saying. I can buy the "Cap was the husband all along" thing. It's small potatoes compared to everything else.

And yeah, Spider-man showing back up and Cap with Mjolnir were definitely the biggest theater cheering moments. Captain Marvel showing up to destroy Thanos' ship and when she showed up to save Tony being a close second to those.

  2. Speaking of Peggy and Cap, wasn't Sharon her niece (or something to that effect) so that wouldn't effect things with her.

Also, alternate realities aren't a plot hole. They're just... alternate realities. Stuff they did split the timeline off. That doesn't mean anything for the primary timeline. It just gives them more tools to work with if they choose to use them.

The only thing that really needs an explanation that I can think of in terms of the primary continuity is how does Thanos and Co. coming from the past and getting vaporized there not fuck things up royally? That's a shitload of "important" people that just disappeared out of their timeline (Thanos, Gamora, Nebula, the Black Order) and weren't put back. Unless Tony's use of the Gauntlet took care of that somehow and we just don't know.

I don't think Cap going back necessarily affect the main timeline. As web said, they never show Peggy's husband or talk about him. Even at her deathbed, the pictures by her are her and her children so (at this point at least), I think the intention is that it was him all along.

  3. Yeah, despite the intense bitching about the game that's still going on, they are steadily improving it. The loot thing is just whatever though honestly. Drop rate is fine. I've had a full set of Legendary stuff for quite a while and I rarely play above GM1 (only did 2 a handful of times and have never touched 3). Mostly they just need to fix item score on the shit to reflect difficulty and/or make the rolls less retarded (either tighten them up more than they have, or let you reroll specific things with crafting mats since they have NO use otherwise outside of making a new character). There's no real reason to go up in difficulty after GM1 because stuff doesn't get BETTER it just has a chance to drop more often which is almost unnecessary.

The fact that you can get a Masterwork weapon on Easy that is the exact same item level as what you could get on GM3 is kind of stupid basically.

I would say don't rush load it up again. Wait for some of their end game stuff to go in. The Mastery system at least should help a lot if it's what I think it is.

  4. God that movie was fantastic. Really good cap to this whole thing. That final fight felt really good overall.

I don't know if they will focus too much on any alternate realities that may have formed off of this unless they DO go with the Kang thing and even then they won't be a focus. I also don't see them trying to find ways to feature people that are gone since the point kind of seemed like it was to get rid of them so they wouldn't be in movies going forward. Things can change obviously and maybe some of them will want to do a cameo here and there but I don't expect anything big.

I think we will see some focus on the 5 year gap with the next phase they do though. I read an article at some point in the past month that mentioned that some of the next movies will be set "in the past" which could easily just mean that. Though it could also mean that you're completely right so who knows. I just think a heavy alternate reality theme might push it a bit for a lot of people in terms of movies. People like us would eat it up, but I know people that already have a hard time following all of this. Push any harder and they might finally break it.

Maybe they'll use the shows they're doing to put some focus on this stuff? With Loki being a feature for one it seems possible.

Mostly I just feel like too heavy of a focus on the alternate timeline stuff will be a too much for a lot of people, but if anyone can pull it off they can I guess. XD

One thing I really liked about this movie is we got a bunch of little (or big) comic references that were really nice (thought they're usually pretty good about these). Hawkeye's daughter in training. Wonder if they'll use her for a Kate Bishop stand-in for the MCU?, Clint going full Ultimate universe Hawkeye, "Hail Hydra" :rotfl: , etc.

  5. God I fucking hate comics sometimes. Was catching up on some stuff I had piling up and saw an add for "Magnificent Ms. Marvel" in one and then it dawned on me that I hadn't seen Ms. Marvel the past couple months on my list. >_<

STOP CHANGING YOUR FUCKING TITLES YOU FUCKS.

Or at least do it in a way that doesn't fuck over the people that actually want to buy the shit. I had this problem back when The Dark Tower was still running too. Every story arc the 'subtitle' on the comic would change and it would count it as a COMPLETELY different title and I'd end up missing shit if I didn't think about it. :|

  6. Well now I HAVE to share one.

Be warned, probably not safe for anyone.

Some of their songs are pretty fucked up and all of them are in English too. So not actually that different from Rammstein, but now the songs can weird you out before you look up a translation of the lyrics. XD

  7. Saturday for me. Bought tickets like 2 or 3 weeks ago to make sure I got the seat I wanted. Between my family and some friends we bought out nearly an entire row in the theater. XD

  8. Neat. Wish I had more patience for messing with this kind of thing.

Side note for those that don't know, the Archive event is going now which is their yearly pve event that they add to each time. Fun if you're interested in the story at all.

  9. Trying to catch up on a backlog of movies I have saved up and recently watched "Sorry to Bother You". Trailer made it seem like a relatively interesting standard comedy/cultural commentary sort of thing and it started that way but with a bit of an absurdist bend to it. Almost felt like a cross between Idiocracy and Scarface. XD

And then the movie gets fucking WEIRD. >_>

Was good overall, but they did a damn good job of not giving away much from the trailers. Was kind of refreshing.

  10. Just did the new Stronghold. Was a lot of fun. Really liked the setting and the feel of size of it. Felt a little light on enemies, and we really need an Outlaw based stronghold. At least it wasn't more Scars though. Lot of interesting visuals to the place. The feeling of coming up into the boss chamber really sells one of the things I love most about this game.

  11. Yeah I saw people bitching about episode 2 especially with people calling it underwhelming even. I don't understand it.

Sure, nothing "happens" but we NEEDED these episodes. They are everything. Wrapping up the nessecary awkward reunions/meet ups and then watching all these great characters contemplate their journeys and come to terms with expected imminent death was narrative gold.

  12. Yeah, lots of good stuff on there it looks like. Can also start contracts straight out of the mission select screen instead of having to pick them up in the fort, and can launch a new mission straight out of the mission completion screen instead of having to load into the fort or launch bay first. That will keep the flow going a lot better during end game play.

A few bug fixes I've been waiting on for a long time too.

A few little quality of life things too, including projectiles now pass through friendly javeline's. No more fat ass Colossus walking in front of you just as you throw a grenade and having it bounce off their fat ass. :rotfl:

Doesn't look like they're going to keep up with their roadmap though. Was hoping to see their Mastery System that was set for this month since it's supposed to be an "expanded progression" system (assuming something like the Paragon system in D3). Trying to not play too much until that's in now that I've done all the main and side quest stuff. Just been doing dailies for the Elysian Keys and to stock up on coins in case the store has something interesting.

  13. These have been the best 2 episodes of fuck all happening in a TV show I have ever seen in my life. I don't even care what happens next. :rotfl:

At this point I don't even know why they think they need to fight. They should just have Tormund wheel Bran out there to 1000-yard soul stare the entire dead army while Tormund drinks and makes direct eye contact with the Night King until the whole lot of them start feeling awkward and wander off.

  14. Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised by it and really want to see a sequel. Movie had some pacing and tone issues, but you can tell the people working on it actually gave a shit and wanted it to do well.  Changes from the original story were understandable, and as much as Hardy's version of Brock is a bit of a departure from the character (less so with how he is now in the comics I guess), I really liked how he played him regardless of the fact.

  15. I never used to get Omnibus and graphic novel stuff, but started giving in. Trying to keep it to strictly Venom and Carnage shit though which I'm managing pretty well. As such, I'll probably be eyeballing that Venom one myself. XD

I used to have a pretty big pull list, but I've weeded out a lot of shit anymore because Marvel is being retarded again. Can't even be bothered to download most of what I used to read anymore. :|
As of right now I only get: Amazing Spider-man, Miles Morales: Spider-man, Superiror Spider-man, Venom and Ms. Marvel. I look through everything each month though in case something catches my eye (usually Spider-man related stuff that pops up here and there).

That being said, there are still countries that will benefit from physical media because they have shitty internet.

And/or ridiculous digital media specific taxes.

  17. Yeah. I'm worried Sony will get a big head and fuck things up. The deal was for 5 movies total and that will be up after Endgame and FFH. ?

They will hopefully just renew the current deal and call it good, but you never know.

  18. Or, you know, Sony. Since it's their movie and their decision. Marvel just produces for the standalone Spider-man movies (and I think they have merchandising rights). Sony 100% finances, distributes, and rakes in the box office revenue for them.

  19.

There was so much shade being thrown between Sansa and Dany that I had to turn the heat in my house back on. :uhoh:

Also, episode should have been titled "Awkward Reunions". At first they were alternating the super awkward ones and the heartwarming ones, then they started doubling up, and by the end they told the feel good reunions to fuck off and cranked the awkward up to 11. :rotfl:

  20. This is the "Skywalker" saga though. It all ties into that and started with his machinations and it would be fitting to see it end with the culmination of them. Next trilogy should be a different thing entirely. The one being done by the Game of Thrones show runners is going to be set in the Old Republic according to an article I had read. Hope that's true because that's a really under utilized era in the new canon.

I really feel like using the Emperor again is lame.  Like that story was resolved when Vader rose up and kill him.  I hope there's some trickery going on here and he's not REALLY back because bleh.

There's a lot more to him than we saw in the original movies. The remnants of the Empire that became the First Order were sent out into uncharted space because there was SOMETHING out there that was a massive source of Dark Side energy. He put a lot of time and energy into finding out how to get to it, and this is even part of why he recruited Thrawn since the Chiss live out past where core had charted space. The empire pulling itself a part and the tested remainder of it leaving was all part of a plan he laid should he ever be killed.

Presumably Snoke had something to do with whatever they found out there and it's hard to say with how the 2nd movie played out, but mostly it comes down to Palpatine's plans were never done with his death. Even outside of the super creepy droids running around handing out messages from him. I don't necessarily think he'll be "coming back" per se, but his machinations were far reaching. It was also kind of fit the narrative they've developed at this point too. It was revealed in the comics that the long standing rumor of Anakin's origins were true. Palpatine is (for lack of a better quantifier) basically his father. At least in the sense that he is responsible for Anakin's mother becoming pregnant.
