  1. Pretty sure the preview for the next episode might have been showing that happen.

Very end was Euron shielding his eyes and looking around at the clouds mildly panicked. Think she's going to come down on them before they can react.

Sounds like they're going to get a taste of what video game devs have to deal with all the time and that sounds like cancer. :dazed:

They already do. I play Overwatch with a person who works for an animation studio that specifically does work for the 3D versions of movies. They just had horrifying crunch time for work they did on Endgame. She was MIA for like 2 months. At the end of it, some people apparently stayed for 48 hours straight to finish work on it. This is all after they were never given their yearly merit raises. They finally had a meeting about it this week and were told they were going to "get to it" sometime this month finally (normally done in Jan. ) and that it would not be retroactive.

  3. I can't remember the specifics. I know he claimed to be part Ultron and part JARVIS, but without whatever corruption Ultron had that turned him against humanity. The mind stone was important in his inception, and he was tied to it, but it must not have been intrinsically necessary for him to continue to function if Shuri was sure she could remove it safely.

If they go that direction, I assume it will be revealed that she was nearly done and had mapped his neruon pathways/circuitry/whatever and will be able to ultimately reconstruct him. Possibly with some or complete memory loss, but the core "being" still there so he'll just have to relearn what he needs to which is a task that I'm sure Wanda would be willing to take on and could be a big plot point of the show maybe? There's a number of ways they could work it out. He's been destroyed multiple times in the comics so it's definitely not unheard of to bring him back.

  4. Forgot to post last week, but they've started revealing clans. They're doing 1 each week starting last week with Thin Bloods, and today they revealed the Brujah. Looks like there's only going to be 5 normal clans to start but they'll add more as free DLC down the road like I said before. Speculation is that it's likely that Nosferatu and Malkavian will be left off the starting set from what the first game had because those two change the experience so much.

They're doing a short animated video for each as well. When you start as a Thin Blood you pick between one of 3 disciplines specific to them that you will keep even after you choose a clan, and then you'll get two additional disciplines for the clan you pick.

The Thin Blood disciplines you pick from are:

Chiropteran - Ability to glide and summon a bat swarm

Mentalism - Ability to pull objects and people with telekinesis, and levitation

Nebulation - Power over mist. Can turn into or shroud yourself in mist and even suffocate people by filling their lungs with mist.

These aren't normal disciplines from the table top game (though some are taken from classic disciplines or inspired by them), but the traditional way Thin Bloods work is a bit screwy so it's honestly not a bad decision.

For Brujah, the disciplines you're given are Potence (super strength) and Celerity (super speed). It sounds like presence is going to be a more general thing that is worked into the social side of the game though they were really vague talking about it so it's hard to say if that's coming more from a RP perspective or if it's an intended thing that will modify how a Brujah can interact with people innately.

Here are the trailers and links to the streams for each for people interested in the first hand info:

They've also started adding unlockables for the game on their website (so far clothing options and decorations for your "house". There are hidden objects on the the pages of the site and stuff like that or you can get people to sign up to get points via a referral link. There's enough stuff I imagine they'll add way to get things unlocked as time goes on though. At least I would hope so. At least it's more interesting than just locking a bunch of shit behind pre-orders (though they have that too. ? ).

Episodic story game in the vein of Telltale's games only it's what they SHOULD have become. Made by a relatively new, small French developer called Big Bad Wolf Studios. Had actually played the first episode back when it came out on PC but then kind of forgot about it because other things had come out. Bought it on the PS4 for $20 to finally go through the rest. The voice acting is kind of shit, and the graphics are both good and bad at the same time (environments are really cool and characters are detailed, but they nose dive so violently into the uncanny valley that they managed to make said valley deeper. >_> ).

The big thing with this game to separate it from something like Telltale's games is that it actually has some solid RPG elements to it. You pick a "class" at the beginning (Politician, Occultist or Detective) and each has skills based around it. You get skill points as you level and can put into any of the different skills from any class, but the ones for the thing you picked cost less points to level up. These skills are used in the environment and in conversations to increase your chances of success and some conversations (called 'Confrontations') are like battles where certain skills will come in handy. Each character also has Vulnerabilities and Immunities to certain skills that you discover through various means as you play the game.

There is also some pretty solid puzzles in it akin to classic adventure games and certain skills can help you solve them via providing hints through analysis of puzzle elements and the like. Other skills pertain to more physical pursuits (forcing doors open, picking locks, reaching high shelves where items are hidden or dodging traps and things of that nature) so you have to really choose what you want to invest in. Certain dialogue options or even full conversations can be missed if you don't possess certain skills. Use of skills depending on the difficulty of the check vs. your level in that skill costs a certain number of "effort points" so you have to use them carefully. Items can be found that can restore points, make a use free, reveal immunities and weaknesses during a conversation for a short time or remove status effects. It all plays together very well, and the systems honestly remind me a bit of what I've seen of Vampire: The Masquerade (and probably other table top RPGs) social encounters.

Story is relatively interesting. Starts as historical fiction/murder mystery dealing with powerful historic figures and secret societies (game features such characters as George Washigton, Napoleon Bonepart, Manuel Godoy and others) and slowly kind of shifts into a crazy almost supernatural thing that I was not expecting. Was pretty entertaining overall. Many things that happen seem fully avoidable or can turn out drastically different during the game too so I'm hoping a 2nd play through will pay off unlike most other games of this type. Not holding my breath because I've never been overly impressed but if it manages at least as well as Detroit: Become Human, it will be refreshing considering this is the first game made by this developer.

Overall I've been pretty impressed with the game. It has short comings, but it stands out impressively for the genre and I look forward to seeing more from the studio.

  6. Paul Bettany is supposed to be in the Scarlet Witch show they're doing (I guess the title for it is apparently "WandaVision" now?) So apparently he is. I'm guessing either Shuri was able close enough to separating him from the stone that she can rebuild him or Wanda starts doing some reality hopping of her own.

  7. @TV show stuff

On one hand, I'm glad to see they're using the same guy from Agents of SHIELD, but on the other why the fuck are they not just putting all of this in one place? We had to go through all the Netflix stuff being cancelled so they could start shit on Hulu? I know they own a pretty large chunk of Hulu at this point but come on. Also, Helstrom? Isn't that a Ghost Rider character? Why are they getting their own show when they're also just doing Ghost Rider? XD

  8. I don't recall it being a thing in the comics. But Vibranium is likely only overly significant on Earth. It came from space and there are likely more interesting materials (such as Uru which Mjolnir and Stormbreaker are made from) to work with out in the Universe. They could really go anywhere as far as the movie universe is concerned.

His shield is kind of a weird thing in the comics where Cap's shield is more unique than it is in the movies. It was originally made from Vibranium mixed with an unknown alloy and the guy who made it doesn't even know how it happened so it's one of a kind. When it broke at one point (from some planet shattering level occurrence or another) it was then reinforced with Uru.

It doesn't necessarily have to be anything ultra impressive. The power of the user is going to matter to. Even in the comics, adamantium (which is indestructible) has been dented by the Hulk and by Thor w/ Mjolnir. We know it's stronger than vibranium, and at least the equivilent of Uru (but probably not Uru itself since we've seen Mjolnir used against the shield before). Likely the display was meant to show the full extent of Thanos' strength and, in turn, Wanda's. I was really happy when they showed that personally because it feels like they've been limiting showing what she is actually capable of in the movies so far before this and Infinity War.

Actually, now that I think about it, it COULD just be made of Vibranium honestly. Black Panther was able to scratch the shield with his claws which are also vibranium so it could be as simple as that plus his strength?

Remember when they pulled Scott out young and old before they could navigate the Quantum Realm?

I think it has to do with that. They found her at that age in the Quantum Realm. It was possible to find her younger but they didn't know how to do that yet.

    That's my guess.

    I can work with that.

  10. Kill it with fire.

He's not human sized at least, but why does he have to have human proportions then? They had one fucking job and they fucked it up. The rest of it would still probably be bad too, but that's the one thing they needed to NOT fuck up. :|

  11. So 4 distinct timelines then and Cap did make another by staying in the past.

Also, something else this made me think of when it was talking about the quantum realm stuff and Scott. Janet was stuck in the Quantum Realm for about 30 years, which based on Scott's time there should have only been a little over a day for her. I looked a little bit and basically the only reasoning I could find was pretty much just "Because sci-fi is weird and we wanted her the right age for when she reunited with her family." I suppose different points in the quantum realm could have different effects, but still. >_>

  12. He's still pretty messed up at that point and it seems like he's basically hitting on multiple things as he rants (most of which are actually his own failings).

His vision being what Wanda made him see in Age of Ultron that fed off of his anxiety over the events of the first Avengers movie.

The "suit of armor around the world" is what Ultron was meant to be. Didn't Cap express some sort of disapproval for the Iron Legion (or at least his ultimate vision for it before he and Banner secretly set up Ultron) before shit went south in AoU as well? I can't remember and it's been a while since I watched it.

When he talks about losing and Cap not being there it's kind of a double thing. The "We'll lose together thing" was something he said to Tony in AoU about dealing with alien threats and Tony thinking it was something they couldn't win without something like Ultron to aid them. The reference to him not being there and thus them not losing "together" is because he wasn't around to help in Infinity War (at least not directly with what Tony was doing) because of what happened in Civil War. Once again, this is technically Tony's fault as well, but the implication is that if they had all been together when the attack happened then they could have won (or at least lost TOGETHER as it were).

Mostly I think it was intentional that he wasn't actually making a lot of sense. He was just shy of dead and was doing a Tony Stark version of ranting incoherently.

  13. Yeah, I think my exact statement at that part was "Dick move." :rotfl:

Also, has anyone seen the posters for each episode that HBO commissioned for the show a while back? It's one per episode featuring a (usually) prominent death from that episode (at least until Season 8 Episode 2 XD ). The guy is doing them for this season too and they're really cool.

    https://beautifuldeath.com/

Beware if you haven't watched recent stuff. It loads in on the Season 8 ones. There isn't one up for Episode 3 yet, but I don't know when they're normally put up so as of now it's only up to Episode 2 of the current season as of posting this, but the new one could be added anytime.

  14. Spoiler

Daenerys is relatively unique. Not all Targaryens are fireproof. Vasarys certainly wasn't. Even in the books, she's more... fire RESISTANT. They played it up for the show pretty heavily. When she came out of the fire with the dragons in the books all her hair had burned away and she had what amounted to a really severe sunburn if I remember correctly.

No other Targaryen that I'm aware of had that resistance either that has been shown. One of the past kings had even been severely disfigured from dragon fire during a war that started between splintered factions of the house.

  15. Think it would have been cool if they could have snuck some new people in there too here and there especially since they've left potential for that already. We have a 5 year gap where things were bound to have happened, but I supposed they wanted this to be a solid 'wrap' on what there was so far without any lead ins for new stuff (thus not going with a stinger in the credits or anything).

  16.

WTF even was Bran doing the whole fucking time? Like, he started by eyeballing the Night King with the ravens, but then the rest of the episode is just fucking chilling with his eyes rolled back with no actual indication of what he was doing. Was starting to think he was pulling a Dr. Strange and seeing if he could figure out how to deal with shit and was going to work some weird ass Children of the Forest leaf magic or some shit to save everyone. Then Arya happened and I was like "WHELP." King of figured on some of the deaths, but wasn't expecting her to be the one to finish him off.

People I still expect to die in this group of people: Either Grayworm or Misande. Not expecting a happy ending there. One out of Briene, Jamie and Podrick. Sam was a 50/50 but if the dead army didn't get him then I guess he'll probably pull through. It also wouldn't surprise me if someone else loses a limb before this shit is done at the very least. If Bron doesn't follow through with killing one of the Lannisters, he's going to shove that crossbow up someones ass. Sideways. And then pick out a castle and get his wife to piggyback him to it.

Things I said to my wife during the episode (mostly to distract her because this show is ultra stressful for her at times and was trying to lighten the mood) :
"Those dragons need fucking saddles or shit is going to go south fast." (have actually been saying this to her the whole season). If nothing else, Varys knew every corner of the Red Keep like the back of his hand. You can't tell me there isn't a fucking old dragon saddle chilling somewhere in that place he could have referenced to her. They used to have a couple dozen of those things flying around. :|

"GUESS THEY NEEDED SOMEONE TO HOLD THE DOOR."

*yelling "DRAW YOUR FUCKING SWORD" at Jon repeatedly when he was eyeballing the Night King after he fell off his dragon*

"I'm surprised Davos hasn't thrown Melisandre into the spike pit yet and yell at her to get to work." when they were trying to light the pit up and failing miserably.

"BOOP HIM IN THE SNOOT" when Jon was trying to deal with the undead dragon on the ground. Like seriously. Valyrian Steel kills these fucking things. Just because it's big doesn't mean it's not going to drop like a sack of potatoes as soon as you shank him.

*during long shot of women and children huddled in crypt* "Where's Gandalf when you need him?"
