Yeah, I have no interest in Avengers. It just seems like a slightly better, but way too late version of the Ultimate Alliance games and other Marvel games since the PS2 era. GotG actually has my interest and feels like it was built by people who actually gave a fuck about making a compelling game

I don't count Tony Hawk 5 because it's a new entry. The new entries have been mostly bad to garbage ever since the first Underground. I actually didn't know they had done Tony Hawk HD, but from what I can tell, it wasn't a remake proper. It was more like a "greatest hits" of THPS1 and 2 while removing content that were available in the original games. Considering this is meant to be more of a proper remake of the first two, I had solid hopes for it.

Why would you be surprised when they're just upgraded versions of two games that were already excellent?

@Vic Boss Probably won't be any time soon, but I've been considering checking out the Yakuza series after hearing a bunch of people say it's basically Shenmue but better. Whether that's true or not, I've heard enough good things that I'm interested. What game do you recommend starting with?

I'd imagine the manuals are definitely in 2 since that's where they started. Adding reverts is clutch, though.

What Birdy said. I would change very little. I'd include manuals in Tiny Hawk 1, and maybe add Tony Hawk 3's reverts. Other than that, maybe a new level or two and a couple new objectives could be cool. This is actually weird, because I've been getting an itch to play THPS3.

I know this is shallow and dumb, but I don't dig that character design. The buzzcut and beefy frame doesn't quite jive with the Prince of Persia vibe. Gameplays looks pretty good for the time, though.

I can get behind that.

I don't know if I'll ever get around to this venture soon, but I wouldn't mind a resource to come back to when I do.

Yeah, I went to see Distant Worlds(the Final Fantasy orchestra) and it was breathtaking. They're actually coming back to Chicago in October for a FFVII exclusive performance as more hype for the remake.

I dig orchestral versions out of the context of the game. Like seeing an orchestra perform it live or just hearing different interpretations. But I'm rarely into the idea of doing that for the actual game. That said, I've heard the sentiment that Mera'din said, so I'm sure I'll be mostly into it come time for me to play the FFVII Remake.

I want that purely for the DAW.

I remember it took me sooooo damn long to get through Stage 2. You know the one. The monkeys and the damn ostriches. I swear the jump timing on the ostritch part is one of the most obscure things ever. And then you realize that wasn't even the hard part. I would perpetually get stuck at the Elephant Graveyard. To this day, I still don't know if I've beat that game from front to back without the level select cheat. This is an awesome combo, though. A lot of nostalgia with these, particularly the SNES Lion King and Genesis Aladdin. Never much cared for the other versions, but frustrations aside, these were licensed games done right.

But they're free now...
