What out-of-season anime have you watched recently?

That's really dumb about the Crunchyroll uploads. I never actually watched Wolf's Rain myself, but I've always heard good things from various people I associate with, so maybe this is a sign to give it a shot 🤔 What I'm liking about GT so far(only like 6 episodes in) is that it captures the spirit of the original Dragon Ball. Which is probably problematic for most kids who grew up on Z and wanted more action and less silliness. Though the action is still pretty fun. I know later it gets more action-oriented, but I also know that's kind of where opinions get more contentious, particularly with the Hell saga. One thing I've really enjoyed is Pan's character. I don't know if the dub maybe ruined her or something, but all these years I was under the impression that Pan was some annoying, badly written character, and I've been severely misled this whole time. -

Good to hear from you Anelle I've been very very slowly watching Dragon Ball GT for the first time. It's been fun. -

I never watched GTO, so that's pretty exciting news to hear. I don't think I ever put in here that a good while back I watched Tomodachi Game and Mushi-shi. Tomodachi Game was pretty fun. It seemed a bit dependent on shock early on, but I found myself really enjoying how they characterized the cast. Hope there's more to come down the line Mushi-shi is a masterpiece. The way it rides the line of emotions and tone, never being outright scary in a lot of moments, never being outright positive, but having this sort of melancholic uneasiness about it all. The art and soundtrack are just incredible, and I love transient the narrative is. Awesome stuff. -

Just finished Odd Taxi last night. Holy shit, that's such a good show. The mystery aspect, the art style, the way dialogue is handled, and then of course the plot reveals at the end. Absolutely loved this show. Excited to watch the movie later. -

This is really interesting timing, because a co-worker just told me today how they were getting into Tokyo Revengers and recommended it to me. I guess I have to watch it now. -

I actually just watched FLCL on Wednesday and Thursday. My first time seeing the last two episodes, too(I've seen the first four countless times on TV). The animation and just general stylization is insane. And I appreciated the soundtrack so much more now than I did back then. I also love that the whole show is basically a metaphor for puberty and sexual repression. -

I actually didn't realize there was a movie, though I know there are little spin-offs. I'll see where I can find it! -

Finished Haruhi. Pretty fun ride, but man, the arc where they show the filming of the movie just kinda proves Haruhi is kind of a piece of shit. Literally the only reason people put up with her abuse is because she's an unpredictable god and Kyon is hopelessly in love with her for some reason he can't quite figure out. Koizumi is the ultimate fuckboy and is one of the most depressed assholes I've ever seen. Yuki and Mikuru can do no wrong, though. -

Yeah, I don't really have an interest in watching any other Isekai other than Slime Datta Ken. I've been watching through The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya for the first time recently. It is a trip to say the least. Watching in the original order, and just finished the Endless 8. I can't imagine enjoying that arc if you had to wait for it week to week -

Finished the first Higurashi series and started the first few episodes of Kai. I may watch Rei finally, but I pretty much plan to finish Kai and then move right onto Gou. -

I'm excited for reactions to Bubblegum Crisis 2040. It's not nearly as good as the original OVAs, but I have a lot of nostalgia with that series. It also has one of the most hype anime OPs of all time. -

The Bount arc is great. Until they prolong it like 5-10 episodes past where it should have ended and it just becomes redundant. That right there is the sole reason I never bothered finishing Bleach. -

Man, I need to watch Speed Grapher again. I burned through and finished Parasyte: The Maxim for the first time a week ago. Man, what a rollercoaster of a show. Didn't end quite how I thought it would, and managed to keep me guessing on some stuff towards the end. I also loved the atmosphere.
