Barry's gotta be in the HoF, to me that's a no-brainer. IIRC he is alleged to have used PEDs started in the late 90's..? Look at his stats from the decade before that. He was obviously already on the HoF fast track. His numbers were insane. Steals, HRs, average, OBP, I think 2 or 3 MVP awards when he was still on the Pirates, numerous Gold Glove awards in the outfield. Bonds is no doubt in my mind deserving of a place in the HoF.

I think the Red Sox will experience a bit of a drop-off this year, but I still expect them to be in the high 80’s. I need too see the O’s win a few more games against the Sox, Yanks, and Rays this year! Help the Jays out a bit plz.

This is when you're supposed to be feeling hopeful about the playoffs, not assuming they'll still miss out!

The Cards got that devil magic, but they're still seven games below .500 and second last in a pretty bad division. There's still time left for them to go on a run and eventually win the division, especially because the other teams are not the greatest... I think the NLC comes down to Milwaukee or St. Louis. The Pirates were a fun story to start the season but I think it's all downhill from here for them

Yeah that was huge news last night. He’s saying it was in a medication he took for ringworm… I want to give him the benefit of the doubt and believe, but so many players before Tatis Jr. have come out with ridiculous excuses after positive tests, it’s hard to believe any of it. He’s been working all year to come back from injury. Honestly, I could understand if any player considered taking something to help speed up rehab from injury. Just be honest about it and admit the mistake.

Mike Trout HR’d in his first at-bat tonight. Clearly firing the manager was the right thing to do
-
Texas/Arizona in the World Series would be a pretty low combined win total for two WS teams. Very strong Wild Card vibes. Maybe not great markets for big TV numbers either. I guess tonight’s game will be rigged for Philly

I think the Jays could have trouble with either the Rays or Twins. They're just so inconsistent. Now would be the ideal time to get hot... but it doesn't seem like they're going to do that.

I think the M's still have some fight left in them, but it's probably better to expect the worst I am hoping that Atlanta comes back to knock out the Phillies. Something about the Phils, I just don't find them to be a very likeable team. I am all aboard the Guardians and Padres bandwagons if they can do away with the Yanks and Dodgers.

There's still a chance it's Tampa coming to Toronto, but, yeah, I think Seattle is more likely. Either way, bring it on! The Jays are playing really well right now. If it's Seattle coming, then I would bet that the first game pitching match up is Manoah vs. Castillo. I expect Toronto to throw Gausman out for Game #2, but he did leave his start early this week due to a cut on his finger. If the Jays win Game #1 then they might take a chance on Stripling for Game #2, as he's pitched so well this summer too. If they can sweep the M's in two games then that buys a bit more time for Gausman's finger to recover. His middle finger is key to throwing his splitter, so if a cut or blister is bothering him then he might not be as effective as usual. I'm thinking about trying to score a ticket for Friday or Saturday... not sure I can afford it though, even way up in the nosebleeds.

It’s still early! Definitely want to see your team trending in a better direction though. It appears the Red Sox are starting to heat up. I don’t want to see that.
-
Yeah the Rays and Yanks are hurting right now. But the Jays have played very poorly against all the AL East teams so far this summer. You never know what can happen!

Yeah, looks like 4 wins in their last 20 games, and they're on a 12-game losing streak. That's rough. It was nice to see the Angels off to a good start this year. It sucks that despite having Trout and Ohtani, they've never really been able to put the right players around them to be more successful. I don't think it's for lack of trying either. They pretty consistently run a top-10 payroll, so they're spending money on players... I guess it's a combination of making bad decisions in signings / trades, and bad luck. In other news: The Jays won 8-0 last night in KC Great to see them go out and score some runs to start this little road trip after dropping 2 of 3 to the Twins at home over the weekend. Back to the Angels -- these new jerseys are fantastic Wear them everyday. They're so much better than the current jerseys.

It’s about time they did something re: Bauer. His leave just kept getting extended for the longest time, kicking the can down the road. Nice to see action taken, and tough action at that. Osuna and Ozuna (and others) should have received harsher punishments too IMO.

Not really! I might have to cheer for the Astros... Ick.

The Reds have been a great story. I'm happy to see them winning games!

Season starts tomorrow! It's been a weird spring what with the late start. Even up to like yesterday there have been some trades happening. There's been a stupid amount of chatter about Jose Ramirez getting dealt, which I thought was the dumbest idea ever, but apparently the Jays were pursuing a deal for Ramirez so I was hearing/reading a lot about it lately. Apparently the Dads were trying hard to trade for him too. It's good to see that he got an extension and will stay in Cleveland at least for now. I'm tired of hearing about it Cleveland hardly has any money on their books, so despite being one of the teams that cries poor, they can afford to extend him. And they just re-branded and probably want to sell a bunch of jerseys. And the season hasn't even started yet so fans can still be optimistic, especially since they play in a weak division. They'd be fools to trade him before the start of the season.

Seriously, slow starts for both Toronto and Seattle. Fortunately it’s a long season, so they have time to get on track. But for Toronto it just feels like more of 2023. Not fun! Expectations are getting lower…

Jays win on opening day in Tampa
-
So @Eizan what do you think about the whole Ohtani / interpreter controversy??? I’m very curious to hear Ohtani’s statements today. The stories don’t all add up
-
But... Seattle's remaining 10 games are against terrible teams, all at home in Seattle. This is a perfect opportunity to get going right again.
-
Yeesh, bit of a rough week for your M's, Eizan..! At least they got back in the W column last night. But those losses against the O's a few days ago, and then the walk-off loss to KC... that's tough. Good thing they racked up a nice little win streak before those losses. Getting closer to the WC race again.

I would still like to see more pitching, but I’m feeling cautiously optimistic about the Jays this year. I am hopeful that their team of pitching coaches can help Kikuchi unlock something and become more reliable. He’s shown flashes of being good in Seattle. Peter Walker and co. have been quite good at helping pitchers get better. Here’s hoping! I also like the trade for Chapman. Now they have 3B covered. And the Jays’ lineup is already dangerous enough that they don’t really need him to hit too much. He’s dropped off at the plate the last couple seasons.

uuuuuuggggghhh this fucking Blue Jays team I don't think there's going to be a Game #3 on Sunday...
