  1. I was not up that late It was an exciting game for what I saw of it though! One bad call wasn’t why the Giants lost, but yeah that’s usually not called a strike. He checked his swing.
  2. Sox are up 7-5 now on Washington… I think the Jays’ season might be over
  3. Stroman is off to a nice start for the Mets this year too. Even Taijuan Walker appears to be doing better than one could have expected given his spotty track record. I guess the problem for the Mets is that it takes more than three pitchers to form a starting rotation. Stats for the other two guys don’t look so hot. I wonder if Syndegaard will be back any time this summer..? It’s been over a year since his TJ surgery. They could really use him, though they will have to be quite cautious with how they pitch him if he can return this summer. Don’t want to re-injure that precious UCL.
  4. The Dbacks might keep losing forever Sadly, my Jays have hit a rough patch of late too. Vlad has been a bright spot all season, which is great, but they’re losing what could be important games right now. Gotta get back into that Wild Card race. George Springer has only played in 4 games for the Jays this year
  5. Next please talk about how good the Red Sox are. I'd like to see them go on a 10 game losing streak too
  6. Jays got rained out today too. Starting the season playing home games in Florida (without a dome) is going to lead to more than a few rain outs. I think it rains almost every afternoon down there this time of year. I hope they move north to Buffalo soon. I'm dreaming of them finally coming home to Toronto for home games by Canada Day (July 1st) but I think we're too far behind on vaccines to make that work... I can still dream though...
  7. Yeah it might be a rough summer for Seattle, but you never know! AL West isn't the strongest division in the league. I'm also 100% on-board the Dads bandwagon
  8. I didn't think the Sox (either of them I guess) had it in them! I figured the Red Sox would lost to the Rays, and I didn't think the White Sox would even win a game against Houston. I still expect Houston to win their series against Chicago though. From the start, I was expecting a Houston vs. SF/LA match-up in the World Series. Looking more like SF than LA right now. I hope Houston, Atlanta, and SF all win tonight so we can just move along to the ALCS and NLCS I noticed headline about Tepera's comments about sign stealing stuff, but it sounds like they don't really have evidence... who knows!
  9. The Blue Jay lineup finally broke out last night. 15-1 win 15 runs with zero homeruns is a bit odd in today's HR-crazy game, but I'll take runs however they can get them! The team drew 9 walks altogether, so they're showing a bit more patience at the plate. So many strikeouts in the previous games. I know almost everybody strikes out more these days, but they need to get that under control a bit more. Matz was good again last night. 6 IP, 4 K, only 1 run allowed despite giving up 3 BB and 5 hits. The one run was a solo HR.
  10. I want them to win so Alex Anthopoulos can get a World Series championship. Wish he could have done it with the Jays in 2015…
  11. The Rangers went wild. Lots of money between Semien and Seager. They’re great infield upgrades but I don’t know yet if they’ll be a good team. Ray is a nice addition for Seattle if he can keep doing what he did in Toronto. I don’t really get the Baez signing for Detroit. They aren’t ready to contend yet, are they..? The Scherzer signing is interesting. I don’t get the Mets The Jays got Gausman and extended Berrios. Two very nice long-term additions to the rotation. They usually aren’t such big spenders, so I like to see it.
  12. Man, I am riding high after that sweep of NYY. 23 games left on the Jays' sched. 14 (!) are against the O's and Twins. Both of those teams stink. Don't mess around, Blue Jays, don't play down to their levels. Take care of business and rack up a bunch of wins. Plz 🙏 Because there are still 3 games left vs. NYY that I really want to see them win too. And 6 games vs. Tampa that I am less confident about. No shame if they lose a few games to the Rays, or even Yankees. The Rays are very good this year, and the Yanks are a solid team too. But don't go losing to the bottom-feeders.
  13. Yanks are out. Cole wasn't very good last night! I'm pretty hyped for the NL WC game tonight. I think it'll be a good one. I think the Dodgers are more likely to win... but the Cards have been so hot for the last month. It would be fun to see them knock out the 106-win Dodgers in the WC game, and then the 107-win Giants in the NLDS (Only to then get beat by the Brew Crew in the NLCS! )
  14. They better be. These will be must-win games from both team’s perspectives. It will be disappointing if the Jays come up short this year. They’ve gotten such incredible performances from Ray and Semien. They’re both on one-year deals and will probably have teams lining up to pay them this winter. I’m not sure if the Jays can retain both guys and still afford to sign/extend their younger guys in the coming years when their rookie deals are up. I hope they can at least keep Ray. The Cards are annoying but I have to admit that this win streak has been impressive.
  15. Yeah they got beat 22-4 across Saturday and Sunday You love to see it NYY's run differential is actually quite low after these last 2 games, at only +23. They have 'only' scored 650 runs so far this season. Tampa, Boston, and Toronto are all closing in on 800 runs scored right now. Even the worst teams, like the O's and D-backs, have put up over 600 runs thus far. The Yankee hitters just aren't getting it done... with the players they have, you'd think they'd be doing better. They also have a fairly difficult schedule the rest of the way. The next series is vs. Texas which isn't so hard, but then they hit the road for series in Boston and Toronto, then close the season at home vs. Tampa. The AL East teams can work together here to bury the Yankees and keep them out of the postseason
  16. Jays smack the Yanks 8-0 today
  17. The Jays beat up on the Red Sox today. Love to see that
  18. Not very many quality bats in that Mariner lineup... a no hitter is still impressive though!
  19. Opening Day is tomorrow!!! Jays @ Yankees is the first game of the day I've seen a few different publications now predicting the Jays to finish 2nd in the AL East, around 90 wins, and being a Wild Card team. That is promising to see. Keith Law is predicting a Yankees/Dodgers World Series Also FWIW, Law has your Mets finishing 1st in the NL East, Garlic!
  20. Loss yesterday but a win today for a 2-1 series win over NYY I'm surprised that today's starter (rookie TJ Zeuch) lasted 4 scoreless innings. Dude doesn't have swing-and-miss stuff so I figured he'd get shelled pitching to contact against the Yankee hitters. Vlad homered today, which is a great thing to see, and the bullpen was good again. We're off to a nice start here!
  21. The Ms might be bad when 162 games are over and done with, but they're on a nice little run to start the season! I hope it continues.
  22. DeGrom going to the 10 day IL. Hopefully he’s back on the mound before too long. The Jays’ young pitching stud, Nate Pearson, has been absolutely terrible in his first couple appearances this year. He’s spent very little time in the big leagues so far, but this is a trend that goes back to last season. He’s been fantastic in the minors, and in his recent AAA rehab appearance he struck out 8 of 11 batters, but it’s like he loses control of his stuff when he takes the big league mound. Must be a mental thing. I hope he figures that shit out this summer. He could be really good.
  23. Yeah that was pretty wild. They won the game, so that's huge for them, but it sucks they won't have Morton available the rest of the series. Lucky for Atlanta, Houston's pitching staff is a hurting unit too.
  24. Still a few innings left to play, but Atlanta is on the way to winning one tonight. Also the Astros came through big-time today!
  25. Looks like the Jays are winning today It would take an absolutely brutal bullpen collapse to blow a 12-2 lead It might not be your M's day though, Eizan... Also, the Nats are up 5-1 on the Red Sox! Chased Chris Sale early. I really didn't see that coming. Rays/Yanks are still 0-0, so who knows what will happen there. I am feeling hopeful that the Jays might be playing game #163.
