  1. WA is at 53.1% first dose and 41.8 fully vaxxed as of yesterday's update. I legit hope we keep going at this pace. Most folks are still being good about respecting wearing masks when we require it at work still but there's definitely more people "relieved" they can breathe again. *eyeroll* In lighter news a friend of mine started a FB group called the Covid Bod Reset Challenge. Not a weight loss challenge, just one that gets us back into good habits and get our bodies moving again for 30-60 days (whichever length at our own pace) and we started Thurs. So far I'm doing okay. I bought a multipurpose pressure cooker since I need to replace my room mates rice cooker when he moves out. I've been doing small easy workouts even after work, trying to lower bread intake (I know I won't be able to cut it out completely but that's the point of the challenge). Gonna try and get into the habit of food prepping meals. Tonight I made a chicken satay with home made peanut sauce and it's fucking amazing.
  2. I just think it's stupid not to go for the 2nd shot if you've already just gotten your first one. If you wanted the One n Done, research more where you can find the JJ vaccine when they started rolling those out again. In slight recent news apparently kids 5 and over will be able to get vaccines in Sep. And Pfizer are doing trial runs on that going for FDA approval.
  3. Thankfully it was only 1 I had to deal with today, but basically an hour into my shift I had this one customer who basically wanted to pick a fight with me about enforcing the mask requirement in the store. like you are literally getting 2 fucking things and you want to waste time arguing with me and raving on about how our Gov needs to "focus on the fucking economy" when you coulda been in-out and fucking on with our lives. So while I did say that WA is 82% (now 84%) of vaccines administered as of the 17th of April. This is our current chart of people being vaccinated. I've heard that some people are trying to bow out of getting the 2nd dose, which I don't fucking understand that logic. As if I didn't have rhe urge to quit and be a hermit for the rest of my life already.
  4. So this is the latest update from the CDC, which I would love to jump for joy but it's basically moot since states are going to have their rules and regulations anyways. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/fully-vaccinated-guidance.html Editing because now our Gov just announced that WA state is doing full reopening by June 30th......we are at 82% Vax doses given and supposedly we're having a decline of cases. I feel like we should at least be waiting another month or so out but *shrugs* they want to rush the economy so badly I can only hope this isn't too good to be true. https://komonews.com/news/local/gov-inslee-sets-full-reopening-of-state-by-june
  5. For sure. From what I saw they actually did really well with cleaning between showings and making sure there are options for sanitizing yourself like wipes for the seats and hand sanitizers in locations. I didn't see how the food was handled since one of my friends paid for it while we went to our seats but I'm sure it was similar. Idk if I'd go for big movie releases like upcoming Marvel movies and other ones though. Things are threatening to roll back to phases 2 in more counties around here including Seattle area (which no surprise because people be dumb). Or I would probably do it similar with certain friends at low popular theaters and weekdays. Idk. While I would love to just ease back into things we still gotta long way ahead of us.
  6. So this is happening now. Idk what data they're looking at but we still have cases rising on the west coast. Oregon just announced that 15 of their counties are now moved back to "Extreme Risk" and will be under evaluation weekly for the next few weeks. WA had over 2k in new cases today and one of our counties is getting pushed back to Phase 1. But sure tell people that whether you're vaxxed or not you don't need to wear masks outside anymore. The dumbasses will skip over the details about big or small groups and all that because "IT'S OKAY, WE'RE OUTSIDE"........... https://www.king5.com/mobile/article/news/nation-world/covid-cdc-mask-guidance/507-dbfc5eb6-b262-4825-a1a7-d154b39311e6
  7. So yesterday 2 friends and I braved going to the movie theater for the first time since before Covid. I can't remember the last movie I saw out but I know it was a couple months before lockdown. We did it because 1. It was Demon Slayer Mugen Train 2. The theater we went to is a fairly dead one even before Covid so we guessed it would be safe enough. It was weird being there but I really really missed it. People were good about their masks, seating was tricky since it was picking your seats and with blocking out others for social distancing made it tricky for more than 2 seats so we did a later showing but I felt it was worth it. Probably won't do it for some big hits that are coming out but not bad experience.
  8. Make sure to keep up with fluids! And perhaps just standing in the shower for a bit and let the water help with the aches. I did that a couple times especially when I was sweating out the fever and it helped some.
  9. So basically turned the dial back to 11 (if not worse) from 2020. Dude that sucks. I'm legit wondering if we're gonna have something similar since cases are still rising here and we're only at about 30% of vaccines process between 1st shots and 2nd shots especially now with J&J shots put on hold.
  10. Onto day 2 of after 2nd shot. Woof they are not kidding about the 2nd shot packing the bigger punch. Yesterday I woke up feeling like a huge weight was sitting on me all day and making it hard to move efficiently but at first no fever. (The body temp kiosk had cleared be when I went to work at 5am) While I was able to get most of my work done since I was doing Scan and not being in the checkstand, I felt like I was dragging ass as the day went on and went home a little early (this was around 9:15am). I also made sure to sanitize anything I touched at work and washed hands every chance I got. I took my temperature after changing and making tea and boom, had 101.5 which grew to 102.8 by the time I went to get around 7pmish. I pretty much stayed glued to the couch binging shows, drinking tea, and wrapped up in blankets and pj's all day, stood in the shower just before bed and promptly passed out. Today, fever broke. Don't feel the heavy weight anymore and moving fine enough to do small chores like laundry and what not, but I did wake up with a mild headache and bad tickle in the back of my throat. More tea and fluids today. Thankfully this hasn't effected my stomach that much so I had Pho ordered last night and had leftovers this morning for breakfast. I have tomorrow off so I'm hoping I'll be back close to 90-100% by work Tuesday.
  11. Got my 2nd Pfizer today during work. Right now I just feel a little light headed and my arm hurt for a bit but it's almost gone now with no tenderness. All I wanna do is soak in a tub right now, but my tub ain't big enough. 😭
  12. Yea the way they were rolling out stuff was badly paced after the old folks and Healthcare workers. Now I'm happily seeing more and more peeps posting that they've either got 1st shots or have appointments made. (I have a feeling it's because they felt pressured for reopening and vaccines not lining up but idc as long as we're fucking getting them now. )
  13. This is what we're looking atm on vaccines. And I see more and more of my friends posting about being able to arrange appointments or share info on how to get one. It really gripes me that there's a couple of my coworkers who have said they are opting out of getting a vaccine for no reason other than allergies of certain vaccine ingredients.
  14. I echo this pretty much. Not to mention you have all the anti-everything covid relates idjits who have been pushing and being a good chunk of why those numbers keep shooting up. WA is no different with case numbers going up. While I see less people at work coming in without a mask on purpose, Seattle's been rising wince beginning of March. Hell we had over 1k in new cases cases on the 8th. And it's probably 9nly going to get worse as we re-open and Easter around the corner. I really hope your cousin pulls through it Nelle, that seriously sucks.
  15. Meanwhile as our state cases have gone up 38% over this last week in Seattle and vaccines eligibility will end making it open for everyone in May 🙄. I'm trying not to complain since I'm seeing more friends post that they're finally getting their shot but some of my friends who should be eligible health wise for some reason are either not finding open slots or are being told they aren't eligible when they are. I wanna be fucking done with this kind of shit.
  16. Okay first shot down. Apparently I was wrong about which one it was so I got the Pfizer. My next one is on the 9th (so it's at least far out enough to where I can NOT end up working on that day unlike today 🙄 ) Right now just sore af arm, a little bit of 'meh' feeling in my stomach but that is probably because they had my shot scheduled RIGHT after my lunch break.
  17. So I got a call from my pharmacy at work and apparently I'll be getting my first shot tomorrow during my work shift......this should be interesting. It'll be on them if I pass out and they end up sending me home. (Highly doubt it but just saying)
  18. Work is in the talks of vaccines for associates now. Most of you know this from the discord chat but a couple weeks ago my front end manager was going around asking each of us who was interested in getting the vaccine. And then highlighting the names that said yes on her list. So while I'm not sure when exactly it's starting that at least means we'll be getting our vaccines soonish. And going to be getting $100 taxable cash incentive for it. They're going to be going through it the same phase structure as the state though which makes sense. -Associates 65+ years of age get it first - Then the ones with health conditions - Then by seniority etc. Like I said Idk when it will start up but the fact that they're advertising the cash incentive and how to look into getting on the list is at least a start. I just hope it's soon. Dad got both his shots, mom gets hers on the 3rd. And grandparents are all covered on both. So other than my brother, I'm breathing easier a little bit at a time.
  19. One ofnmy friends just posted saying one of the clinics on the Eastside of WA have 750 doses they need to use up by tonight or have to throw it out. I wonder if it was a freezer failure or if they didn't have enough people taking the vaccine?
  20. My work is finally giving out the Moderna vaccines, now just need to wait until I'm eligible
  21. I think one of the hardest parts for me from all this, is hearing stories from my friends who are either been infected or have/had family infected or die from Covid and feeling utterly useless and helpless because not even words of condolence feel anywhere near adequate when something like this happens. One of my close friends posted that her Dad was taking some risks even though he would wash his hands and wear a mask. Risks like going to the gym everyday/hanging with people/etc. Because even though my friend and her siblings would tell him to not play that game he said he didn't want to skip over life so if he got it he got it. He was found unconscious when someone noted he didn't show up for work and it was discovered that he suffered a stroke due to Covid-peumonia combo, and then put into a medically induced coma with intubated to help him breathe. Apparently it's not uncommon for Covid to cause strokes without any prior symptoms) 3 days later (today) she updated that he's finally woken up and was able to respond to his name and be a little coherent. And sadly he can't move the left side of his body. I'm happy for her that hopefully her dad can start getting on the mend but it's shit like this that makes me want to go around beating people with a stick for being selfish asshats and keep comparing this to the damn flu.
  22. That's how it's worked for some of the volunteers up here so I hope the same with her!
  23. Yay for the good news! Boooo about the work fuck up. That's fucking stupid.
  24. My work has also started announcing about Covid vaccine info so hopefully that means my store will be a new location to get them soon. Right now I'm still not eligible atm but we're slowly getting there in what we have given out in vaccines. https://www.doh.wa.gov/Emergencies/COVID19/DataDashboard
