    Getting my second shot tomorrow at 11AM, grabbing some Tylenol and a bunch of gatorade while i'm in the store. Fingers crossed for a non-terrible reaction.

    Went to the bf's and met his dad/step mom, her sister and her husband, and had lunch to celebrate birthdays. After that we came back here, watched some Treehouse of Horror episodes, Shaun of the Dead, and are now playing Destiny 2 with one of his friends.

    We have a similar thing at FedEx, but at least when we do our jobs we're in FedEx vehicles, so it's more often than not ok.

    Put my info into whatever app/website California uses a few weeks ago and still haven't heard anything. Tonight, I called up my pharmacy to refill a prescription, when the automated message mentioned something about the vaccine, so I checked their website and I now have an appointment for this Friday at 11AM for my first shot. I also set up the second shot for the 30th. Not sure which one i'm getting yet, but i'm going to have to pretty much rush to work afterwards so I won't be late. It'll be worth it if I can finally get it done, though.

    That was one of the things about the rollout here that bugged me. I had friends who still had the option to work from home for a few more months getting it before me, who works for a company that has to have face to face interactions with dozens of people every day. It's kind of ridiculous, but at least now there's an end in sight for me.

    My whole state is in a "stay at home" order, and all non-essential businesses are closed. Lucky for me (or unlucky depending on how you look at it) my job is one of the "essential" ones, so i'm still out every day, living life like normal. All restaurants are only allowed to do takeout, which is kind of interesting. Honestly my life hasn't changed all that much, so it's not really affecting me all that much. Outside of washing my hands way more often and being a little more careful about what I touch around home, that's really all i've needed to do differently.

    Asked my senior manager the other day if he knew of any timetable for us to get it, but he hadn't heard anything. Said something about them switching to an age based system, which on some degree I understand, but we're face to face with people every day, we should be a relatively high priority (outside of health workers and the elderly, of course), so I have no clue when I'll be getting mine. I just want this to be over already, I wonder if I can just schedule an appointment and get one that way.

    Well, look on the bright side, at least one of those stupid protests didn't happen in the town you live in.

    I'll be meeting the bf's dad and step mom, for the dad's birthday. Not sure if it's Halloween themed or not.

    Saw a picture on reddit from this club in Garden Grove (a city not too far from me) full of people, no social distancing, no masks. We are so fucked.

    They finally decided to close the beaches down here for 4th of July weekend. For a while it seemed like we were going to be the only Beach still open in all of southern California.

    California's re-instituting a mandate for the next two weeks starting tomorrow. Even people who are vaccinated are having to wear masks. I don't know if the numbers are such that it's necessary, but it's nice just the same.

    The governor lifted the stay at home order that he put in place on the 4th of December, so now restaurants can have outdoor seating again. Still have no idea when I'm getting my first shot, my mom should have her second in a week or so. She mentioned not feeling too well the day after getting the first, which I think is normal, but she seems fine now.

    Word from our Governor is that we can move into stage 2 this Friday. Apparently anyone in LA County who wants a test is capable of getting one now, so that's good.

    Mom had her second shot on Thursday, she felt fine for most of the day, then felt not so great Friday. Called her this morning and she was doing better, so hopefully that's the worst of it.
