No I mean in the 18 years I've worked for Albertsons-turned into-Safeway it's always been Weds for ad changes. We rarely do 2 day sales anymore. Once and awhile they'll pop up but hardly ever anymore. Whoever created the first coupon though I hope their soul burns in hell.

Been a hot minute since there's been an update post here and I'm sorry its one of ill tidings. My dad had texted me yesterday so having the call from my mom this morning wasn't too surprising. But my grandmother had developed a fever recently and was having trouble breathing. Probably from something she had ingested mom thinks. But she passed away this morning. I am okay, red eyed for sure after talking with mom but I'm OK. I'm personally surprised she's held out for so long after so many falls (1 where she somehow survived breaking her neck) and fevers. Being stuck in a bed for the last few months, barely being "there" or responding even though we know she could understand well enough if you talked to her. My mom and I are pretty sure she's only held out so long because of my grandpa and making sure she was there for him because of how long they've been together. I am thankful she was able to finally able to let go peacefully and comfortably with my dad and his siblings there, and that she can finally rest. My grandpa seems to be doing okay with this transition since all the intermediate family is there, my brother and I had talked to him on the phone a bit. I'm also glad my dad can be less worried about her with her health flipping so much in this last year during a pandemic.

The last time I was summoned for jury duty, they gave me a group # and a phone # to call. So when I called it, a recording would tell me if my group # was needed or not for a scheduled time and when my group wasn't needed. I would just have to call back the next day. I kept that up for about a week and still didn't need my group so I stopped calling and never got word back. And haven't been summoned again yet. I would hate going through what you did since it's a pain for most to try and get time off for summons.

Big adulting today. Especially since it's been forever since I had to do a car loan (last time was car #2/4). I mailed out my payoff check for my car loan today. I requested the confirmation letter to give me some peace of mind since it should take about 10 business days for the paperwork of my title to get to me. But if all goes right, it should be fully mine by the end of the month.

If you feel up for it, lets talk old holiday memories or what you plan to do this weekend! Atm i'm on my lunch break at work. Almost done and it's been alright so far. The rush will probably come just when i'm ready to clock out. Then i'm gonna chill at home tonight and see the fam tomorrow. Stuff has been happening with my brother so he's back living with the folks. But he's safe and that's what matters. If roads are better from our declining ice storm i may drag him out of the house for a spell.

If it's anything like how I started being a backup book keeper at work. Which I've had NO prior experience with or anything. (And I fucking hate math.) Once you learn everything you can, have all the notes down, and start getting a rhythm/routine going of the Ins and Outs. I'm sure you'll have it down pat.

Damn I couldn't imagine having to deal with that aftercare. That right up there with my mom's eye surgery aftercare where she had to stay in a chair that kept her in a chair face down for like a week or two. Hope the healing goes fast!

they are the fucking best. you can either make them crispy or nice and plump gooey and i always do a mix of both cuz some of my friends love the crispy ones more.

It really hit hard about seeing how much of her memory had gone last Christmas. Knowing how dementia works and seeing it really are two different worlds. I'm closer with her than my grandparents on my dad's side. But that's because we did more family gatherings on my mom's side since that inner circle of the family lives closer than my dad's side. (Grandparents on my dad's side used to live 2 hours away and even after moving to a facility after my grandmother on that side has fallen enough times to have both hips replaced, still lives about an hour-ish away. Aunt on that side lives just as far, uncle is the only one on that side who lives close and he's a snob ) And she's done a lot supporting me on a bunch of things in my live vs the other side of the family, even if it wasn't much. My brother is being standoffish about seeing her and my aunt's son has done his visit. I know I suck at keeping in touch in general but I know I would hate myself if I didn't at least see her soon before it finally happens.

Whoohoo! Go Gal! Today is day off so it's been laid back. We're in the mid 70's right now so I've been checking the garden, running a couple errands. Starting to go through my camping gear and see what needs to be cleaned, touched up, replaced for June Faire in a couple weeks. Good day off is Good. ?
