Poor Felix, what a quick decline over the last few years. I think the dude just had too many innings on his arm at a relatively young age. Over 2700 IP now at age 33. And it doesn't help that it seems he wasn't resistant to pitching different as his stuff/velo declined over the years. Look at the changes CC Sabathia had to make to pitch better once he finally realized that he couldn't just blow a fastball by guys anymore. I feel like Felix was more resistant to those types of changes.

I certainly don't feel bad for the Yankees I'm probably pulling for the Nats in the WS since Houston won pretty recently, but I wouldn't be unhappy with either team winning really. Time for the old debate of, is it better to have off-time or did they just get rusty? I think the Nats' pitchers will have all had full rest now, which is a good thing. Not sure if their hitters have lost a bit of their rhythm though. WS starts Tuesday night!

Bo Bichette is instantly my new favourite player. The Jays have gotten way more fun to watch lately. Gonna miss Stroman though.

Guess I was right on the Rays. Yandy Diaz is really good! ALDS - Rays @ Astros - Twins @ Yankees NLDS - Cards @ Braves - Nats @ Dodgers The Rays might give Houston a run for their money, so I might actually be picking Tampa to win that one; but I'd take the home teams (Yanks, Braves, Dodgers) to win pretty comfortably in the other Division Series.

Nice to see Atlanta even things out. It's pretty nuts how good Verlander continues to be.
-
So I think the Twins are actually kinda good. That's weird.
-
The Jays beat the Red Sox today. Somehow the Jays have more wins on the season than the Red Sox I know it's early, but still! Bad start for Boston
-
Braves couldn't close the door today, and the Rays still have a bit of life left in them. You think the Twins can win a game?
-
I really cannot believe that this is the same Anibal Sanchez that pitched in Detroit the last few years. Dude looked like he was cooked a long time ago I'm with you Eizan - Nats vs. Astros would be a great match-up.
-
I totally didn't see it coming either but I'm happy to see it! Strasburg has been so damn good.
-
Yup, Cora got fired. Also the Twins signed Donaldson to a four year (+ fifth year option) deal. Reports saying it's $92 million guaranteed, $100 million with the option.

Chris Davis's hitless is still going. He set a new record
-
They blow the game today and then the trade is announced. Fucking rough. UGH.
-
Vlad finally getting some hits, two homer game
-
The Nats really need to win today or I think they're toast for sure.
-
I think I'm picking the Cards in the NLCS. They still got that devil magic, which I think will overpower the Nats' Wild Card magic. But maybe this is the year the Nats finally stop choking?
-
I hope the Dads do better this year, but at best they're challenging for a Wild Card spot. Hard to imagine any of those teams really challenging for the division. But I guess that's why they play the games - you never know what could happen!

Now that the Raptors big run is over, I've come crawling back to my Blue Jays. They're really bad. Nobody was expecting them to contend this year. They're basically seeing what they have in their young players. But wow they're bad. Almost Orioles level bad. Stole a win in Boston yesterday though.
-
Blue Jays It will be a long summer. But at least there are no expectations. I just want to see what Vlad (and then Bo) can do. Anybody else morbidly following Chris Davis's hitless streak? Oh man he is bad. Unplayable. They need to give him a break or something. Also did Mike Trout somehow get better AGAIN? Dude is on a tear right now. It's nuts. He's so good.
-
Yeah they're definitely a good team! I'm OK to become a bandwagon Twins fan later this year. They have some really fun players.
-
I'm not sure. I feel like he's lost a lot of his shine. But I could also see another team giving him a shot. Who you got in the Wild Card games? Rays/A's is a total toss up to me. I think I'd bet on the Rays with Morton starting... but the A's are a bit if a mystery to me, I don't know how they keep doing this. I think the Nats are probably the better team than the Brewers without Yelich, but I'll be cheering for the Brewers.

Wow, I really didn't see that coming. When I tuned out the Dodgers were still up 3-0. Figured they had that locked down Two surprising results yesterday. I didn't see the Dodgers losing this early. There are more players I like on the Dodgers so I would have liked to see them advance, but the Nats have their fair share of exciting players too - and the whole "better without Harper" narrative is something I find amusing. Looks like the Cards won the season series vs. the Nats quite handily. Four of the games were played quite early in the season so they could maybe be discounted, but as recently as mid-September they took 2-of-3 against Washington. Gotta think a little longer about my NLCS pick. Come on Rays!
-
They did the awards. I already forgot who won what That Astros expose on The Athletic re: sign stealing though That's a pretty big blemish on the 2017 World Series win. And some of the dudes implicated are in managerial roles on other teams now

So much for the Jays being a .500 team after calling up Vlad and sweeping the A's Here's hoping for a bounce back in Texas
