Yeah that was pretty wild. Good timing too since it was kinda starting to get boring. Now I'm intrigued all over again. The looping thing is reminiscent a bit of Erased ( if I'm remembering that correctly... )

I'm curious how many chapters are left. Can't be too many, though at the monthly rate it could still be a year before we see the ending

Dr. Stone Yeah, The Elusive Samurai has been great. I still think the final few panels of this chapter were pretty weird and hilarious though Hunter's Guild Neru continues to be great. This chapter was a good build up for what will hopefully be a very exciting chapter next week! I meant to have a look at Kaiju No. 8 a while back but never got around to it... 46 chapters won't be too hard to catch up on if I like, so maybe I'll have a look at that one night this week.

Nice resolution to the mAR story in i tell c chapter 19 Candy Flurry chapter 8 set up what should be a good fight in chapter 9 Bad guy in recent chapters of The Elusive Samurai is a major creep The kids can handle these scumbags though. I like how their little team has come together. Dr. Stone chapter 200 — That was fast

I agree re: the character designs. It's nice to see something a bit different! I especially like how the sister's (Mimin, IIRC..?) hair is drawn. So big and wavy. Lucky's hair is always going in all directions too

Candy Flurry #14 — I figured this chapter would focus on Tsumugi, and I was looking forward to that, but the focus was instead on Irie. I won’t complain, she’s a pretty cool character The Elusive Samurai #26 — The political stuff in the first half was a bit of a bore, but it is a part of world this story takes place in. I like the mission that has been setup for the Elusive Warriors though. Should be some more action and excitement in the next couple chapters. Hunter’s Guild #5 — I think they got me hooked. I wanna know about witches and werewolves, magic, the Red List, etc. I am a sucker for this underdog kind of story. Go join the guild, Velou!

Finally got round to checking out some of the new stuff. Beat & Motion is definitely a winner in my books! Nico is hilarious The art is a bit generic IMHO so it's not as nice to look at as some other series that I'm enjoying at the moment, but I like the basis for the story. I actually read the first two chapters at like 3am this morning when I couldn't get back to sleep while stressing over some dumb work shit in the middle of the night, and this idea of "You just died today, now you should do what you really want to do" struck a chord. Gokurakugai is also interesting, though I am not as into the concept as I am Beat & Motion. The latest Chainsaw Man (123) also has some good stuff going on. Asa is in a bit of trouble here! Denji to the rescue? Or does she save herself?

Well, I guess i tell c is finished. I think it would have been fun to continue with the new kid added onto the i division team. (His mom is a real dragon lady though ) Oh well. It was a fun read. The Elusive Samurai chapter 22 DB Super # 73 — I’d like to see this fight with Granolah animated someday! Very curious to see what Vegeta has up his sleeve in the next chapter.

I binged a bunch of JJBA Part 6 - Stone Ocean over the holidays. Almost caught up to current. IIRC up to chapter 109 is out on the Jump app. 49 chapters to go to finish it, so that’s basically a year if it’s on a weekly schedule. Stone Ocean was a slow starter for me, similar to Golden Wind, but some of the characters and stands have really grown on me. I am enjoying it.

JJBA update: I finished Battle Tendency. In the end I found it dragged a bit. Overall, I might have actually liked Phantom Blood a bit more. I'm a few chapters into Stardust Crusaders and it seems like it's going to be good. Stands are an interesting new thing. PPPPPP #59 The fight currently going on in Sakamoto Days is really good stuff. All the other stuff I'm following weekly was good but I guess there was nothing really worth remarking on, except that I was disappointed to only get a special illustration from Spy x Family this week Two more weeks until a new chapter.

That's a bummer about your health situation. Hope you start feeling better soon. re: JJK: The Shibuya Incident was a pretty tough act to follow! Some cool stuff has happened in the Culling Game arc but yeah it hasn't been as good. I'm thinking about taking a dive into JoJo's Bizarre Adventure as the next thing I start reading...

Yeah I saw that he’s been working on a new batch of chapters. I’m just getting impatient Sounds like he has pretty terrible back/hip issues, so I should be more mindful of that while I wait impatiently for new chapters...

I zipped through all the available chapters of Martial Master Asumi last night. I like it a lot! I will definitely keep reading it every week I like Nito, great main characters. Also, I totally would have picked the girl with the glasses too This reminds of lots of the things I liked in Neru: Way of the Martial Artist. Hopefully Asumi sticks around longer. It's an interesting contrast having just read a ton of JoJo. They're both shonen, and they boil down to dudes fighting other dudes (and dudettes!), but in JoJo you have stands and supernatural powers, special abilities with sometimes complex rules and all that stuff that you have to remember, whereas in MMA you've just got people fighting the old fashioned way. Makes me appreciate the simplicity of more realistic shonen, even though I do still love the more fantastical shonen series too (HxH being one of my all-time favourites, Nen is cool as anything... but also rather complicated!)

Yup Me too. It usually starts to make sense eventually… maybe next chapter will clarify things a bit.

Read up to chapter 71 of Chainsaw Man over the last week or so. I have to admit, I started losing track of the plot, probably 15-20 chapters ago. It started getting messy as they introduced more devil hunters, and then all these different characters that all were out to get Denji. A bit too much going on for me. But I am still curious to learn what the heck is so special about Makima, and of course to see if my guy gets to touch some boobs. Only about 25 chapters to go. I hope it ends on a high note and starts getting less confusing. edit: I should say too, I think this could be pretty awesome animated. Lots of action. It’s not always easy to see what all is really happening in the fighting panels. Seeing it animated would be nice and probably clearer.

Another solid new chapter of Choujin X, only 5 days after the previous chapter. This manga has a really weird schedule. Or, less a schedule, more of a "whenever Ishida is ready" release cycle. In any case, I will say it again, it's been really good lately Chainsaw Man #117

Sheesh, no replies since May 20. We all need to do a bit better, it seems! . @Psycho666Soldier and @Anelle -- are you still keeping up with anything in Jump? I have kept up with everything that I was following, though I haven't checked out many new things in May/June/July except for the latest new one... The new one this week -- Wild Strawberry -- was off to a pretty decent start. I'll keep reading it. It's interesting, having watched the Hell's Paradise (Jigokurako) anime during the spring season, to see the whole flowers-blooming-out-of-people thing happening again, albeit in a different context. There are some very beautiful (and gory) visuals in both! This week's Sakamoto Days (#127) was harsh. RIP Hyo ??? What a bummer man, he was a great dude I have really enjoyed recent chapters of The Elusive Samurai. Kinda weird to see Tokiyuki and co. basically beg forgiveness of the Mikado, but I guess it was their only play. The new character (Akiie) is something else lol. Also I am on the fence about the ninja girl, but I don't think she's going to betray Tokiyuki's crew to the Tengu. I have a gut feeling about that. JJK is a bit of a hot mess. The Culling Game may never end Recent chapters have at least had some good action, but damn it's confusing. The competition happening right now in Akane-banashi has been great and I am pulling so hard for Akane. Win or lose, I am loving what is going on. Beat and Motion is similar to Akane-banashi in that I am just really enjoying what it's all about--no complaints about either series. Ichinose Family is starting to lose me again... but I know I will keep reading it anyways I think that's about it for my rando thoughts on manga...

I think I’ll keep following Akane-banashi. I’m such a sucker for this kind of redemption story.

I was gonna read Neru last night but decided to read a book instead. It sounded interesting to me though. Guess I need to check it out this weekend!

MMA #21 Spy x Family #90 was a very sweet chapter. I hope they old folks become recurring characters. Kinda made me miss my grandparents Elusive Samurai #133 was also a very sweet and touching chapter. Shizuku and Ayako are tied for being the best Sakamoto Days #143 Akane-banashi #86 Karurabachi #9 I honestly don't remember all the details from the first few chapters, but I am still enjoying the premise. Action has been good and this concept of enchanted swords is rad. I am enjoying it. I didn't get to reading the new Dr. Stone thing yet, but it's on my list. There is also a new title on the Jump app, Dogsred, about hockey. As a good ol' Canadian boy, I feel it is my duty to read it. If it's sort of an "edutainment" manga then I kind of have to fact-check it a bit. I love a good sports manga/anime, so hopefully it doesn't disappoint.

I hereby welcome you to the Old School Forum Akane-banashi Fan Club!

I read the first three chapters of Tenmaku Cinema and I'm all in. It's good Also the second chapter of Wild Strawberry continued to impress me. This one's a winner

Lots of good stuff this week! No spoilers, just some random thoughts: Tokiyuki is a very good leader The revelations in Sakamoto this week explain a lot! I think we're going to be seeing some serious fireworks in HxH soon, and I cannot wait I am once again a little bit lost in PPPPPP, but it was a beautiful chapter in any case I'm pumped for Akane to hopefully make another breakthrough soon I read the second chapter of Fabricant 100 but already forgot what happened Today will be the day I check out The Ichinose Family--I will report back about it later Also, I'm 40-something chapters into JJBA: Stardust Crusaders and... I dunno. Some of the action has been good, but it's not a very compelling story for me. At times it just strikes me as dumb. I will probably finish it because I don't like to leave things unfinished. It won't take that long. I read a few chapters each night before bed because I don't have any books on the go right now. Unless there is a very strong finish that leaves me wanting more, I'm going to put the rest of JJBA on the backburner for a while and maybe come back for Part 4 sometime next year.
