I also finally caught up on Elusive Samurai. I don't know why I was having trouble before. I read the exact same chapters and didn't feel nearly as lost. It's all been good stuff, though. Enjoying the setup for the rematch with Sadamune. Here's hoping this is the day Tokiyuki actually kills his ass.

I was legit torn because I'm like, "I want the boys to win finally!" but goddamn did they make me just buy all the way into Broken Glass Slipper.

I highly recommend Kaiju No. 8! It's a bit of an unsung juggernaut right now.

DB Super 78 was excellent. Each chapter has me on the edge of my seat. My dumbass actually didn't realize what Vegeta was doing until he landed next to Granolah. Great stuff. Show-ha Shoten #3 was pretty good

Yeah, having caught up on that now, it's like...I'm not enamored, but I'm still amused? I think there's potential for it to be really good at some point, but I think it's still finding it's focus and figuring out exactly what it wants to be. Doron Dororon continues to be somewhat unremarkable in the sense of having things to say about it/doing anything new, but I can't help but really love the characters. Kusanagi's attitude is infectious and in general I'm just rooting for them to succeed in whatever they do. I also think there are some really cool visual moments in here and I could see that translating really well in an anime. Fingers crossed it doesn't get the axe any time soon/doesn't become too stale.

I will say that I truly believe the arc you'd be starting with and what's to come gets to the heart of the series, and without getting into spoilers, I feel like the actual stakes of the series' premise become higher. On a much lower scale, some of the recent chapters have left me kind reeling in the same way Attack on Titan would. I do also find that as probably the most critical fan of the series, it's amusing that you're feeling an itch to continue in the manga.

Yeah, really looking forward to checking out that music manga. I'm hoping we still get Spy x Family this Sunday, though.

Yeah, I always appreciate Tite Kubo's art, but the one-shot didn't really do much for me when it came out, so I never really bothered with the series. Maybe one day when I get bored I'll check it out. It just felt a bit flat to me.

Just blazed through the rest of i tell c. Pretty disappointing end considering they never got deeper into the connecting storyline, but sometimes you can't do anything about that. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll do a big final chapter like they did for Agravity Boys.

I've been slowly catching up on all the manga I've let slip to the wayside. Once I'm there, I plan on giving Elusive Samurai another go. Since you've stuck it out this whole time and have had mostly good things to say about it, it makes me feel like I should give it another fair shot. Been enjoying Hunter's Guild so far. Very curious to see where it goes once it gets past the usual Shonen intro setup

MHA has been hella intense lately. It's been a bummer that I've had no one to really talk to about it.

Ditto on all that Beat & Motion stuff. It has a special heart behind it. I'm also super intrigued by how the relationship between the two builds up as she flips between drunkenness and sobriety, and how much of that she actually remembers. And yeah, I liked Chainsaw Man this week. Feels like we're getting ready to ramp back up. Gokurakugai is almost purely an art/aesthetic thing for me. Best & Motion has the more interesting/personally relevant narrative and characters, but there's a lot of style dripping from Gokurakugai that makes me want to see where it goes. I still haven't read past the first chapter, though I think I'm gonna drop Jiangshi X. I haven't read the last two weeks, and it just doesn't really hook me. It's just your basis Shonen with a premise that's niche enough to not 100% feel cliche, but it's still like 95% cliche. It probably won't last long anyway.

Just read it today as well. I dig the art and while the concept is silly, the execution so far is pretty on-point. And they left us on a bit of a cliffhanger for the first chapter, which is usually a good sign in my book. Definitely gonna follow it until it falls flat or I get distracted. I'm still kind of torn on I tell c, but I get the feeling it won't last too long anyway, so I may drop it. Though now that it's starting to dig a bit deeper into the background of the main protagonist, I'm a bit more interested. Also, the new MHA chapters just have me like I also still can not recommend Spy x Family enough. It's great.
-
Yeah, while I dig the aesthetic of the art, there are certainly a lot of action panels where I'm kinda just going along with it rather than knowing exactly what's happening. I had similar issues with Chainsaw Man, though, and thankfully the plot is interesting enough so far to make up for missing any action.

This all the way. Couldn't have said it better myself.

How did I know this post was gonna bring up the Coltrane reference Great chapter this week, and it has me really stoked to see what goes down when Akane opens for Rokuro.

I was anime-only until a couple months ago. I read from the beginning just to refresh myself on the plot and ended up blazing all the way to the current manga. The shit that's gone down is so insane, it's almost like a completely different series.

Stack of guns falling on an assassin. Happens all the time. Looks like the usual suspects are taking a break this week, but pretty happy to get new Show-ha Shorten. Was a pretty fun chapter.

Sakamoto Days has been extra violent lately. Really digging the direction of the current arc so far. Neru 14

Not sure if you mean back and forth as far as quality or focus of the story. Because sometimes they get so derailed in making other scientific advancements that they almost gloss over the original task/reason. I think it helps that I read most of it in a bug chunk until the last 15 or so chapters.
