Still catching up on some things, but I just finished up to he most recent Beat & Motion Akane-banashi has been wonderful. Seems like a strong moment of self discovery, but I'm really hoping she gets the victory. She deserves it. Also still been liking Ichinose Family, but I feel the execution of the last 2 chapters was a bit rushed/sloppy, so it definitely made for a narrative dissonance with where they expect us to be emotionally. I'm still into the mystery surrounding his parents and what they do/don't know/what happened with the accident. I'm also super hype for what come next in Sakamoto Days. Also, that last Chainsaw Man chapter? That shit was wild and was probably one of the best chapters they've had in a while. Great work. Feels like the anime could really rock with that part.

Still gotta catch up on some of the rest from both this and last week, but I really liked Tenmaku Cinema:
-
Yeah, that was one thing that was nice about binging for the catch-up. Things made more sense because you could piece it all together over 3-5 chapters lol Really liked the fight with Kanaguri in Sakamoto Days. Class stuff. Ichinose's is still intriguing, but man, it does so much setup sometimes that I feel I'm left waiting for something to happen after certain chapters. Like it feels like NOTHING happened this week. Akane-banashi 45 I liked the last two chapters of Elusive Samurai

Caught up on PPPPPP

Chainsaw Man didn't have anything too remarkable this chapter, but I was vibin'

I was wondering how long the delay was going to be with all the chapters saying "To be Continued." Most everything had ended with some solid hooks leading to the next chapter. The next issue should be a blast, especially if Spy x Family is gonna be there, too.

Dr. Stone Elusive Samurai Sakamoto Days Also, I just realized that the first syllable of each Origami child is solfege.

Yeah, I had the same problem. Like I said, though, I think it sort of works with the story/characterization It definitely made it harder to get attached to at first.

Yeah, I don't need every chapter to be advancing a plot, but before it just felt like it had a lot of heart and super hilarious moments in the every day stuff. I think part of it is there have been a lot of shorter chapters in the last couple months so there's been less time to have the more meaningful slice of life chapters where it feels like there's both character development alongside the gags? I think that might be it. Until these last two main chapters(not counting the extra short side ones), it feels like there hasn't been that character development side as much? Or maybe it's also just because there have been so many break weeks that the flow makes every chapter hit weaker. I have faith it'll find something to dig into eventually, but we'll see

Have you read Protect Me, Shugomaru? I gave the first couple chapters a shot even though I wasn't immediately enamored, but it's actually a pretty fun little gag manga. I wouldn't necessarily go out of your way to read it if you're not that interested, but I guess I'm at the point now where I've read enough to where I feel like I have to follow. Plus, it started getting a tad more interesting. The premise was a bit tiresome up that point.

That was a really enjoyable spin-off. There were a lot of theories when it first came out that Rei was Why-man or somehow connected to it, and that was a pretty fun ride until people started pointing out the inconsistencies with the theory. But the timing was coincidental enough that it made people wonder. I think it'll make a good filler episode or two, or even a nice between season special or something like that. Have you tried out Sakamoto Days at all, by the way?

Ichinose Family's Deadly Sins finished! Overall, I'm hoping Taizan5 gets more greenlights to make works for SJ because I enjoy what he does. I think this series wasn't quite as tight as Takopi's Original Sin(which I highly recommend, especially you @Anelle), but it had enough going for it that I wanted to see it through to the end. It started with a great concept, lost some of the execution in the middle, and then ended pretty nicely, if not a little messy, at the end. Feels like one of those series that could actually use another read now with all the pieces understood. I also caught up on weeks of Martial Master Asumi and I'm still in love. I've never given a fuck about MMA, but there's something about the way the fights are choreographed that has almost a JoJo-like quality in how Asumi analyzes and adapts during fights. And the art continues to be stellar.

Ichinose Family #43-45

The art has this old school vibe to it, and the motion is drawn really well. I dig the protagonist, too. Typical "shonen boy who has extraordinary talent" type plot, but handled in an engaging way.
-
Oh man, enjoy the fucking ride. I had one little brief run of fatigue when I caught up to current about halfway through, bit it hooked me right back in once I picked it up again. Really is a standout.

Checked out Beat & Motion. Seems like it could be a good one.

Been pretty busy the last few weeks so most of my spare time has gone to either doing those things or playing Legend of Legaia, but I've been trying to read what I can. I saw Fabricant 100 ended and I've been very behind on that, so I wanna try and burn through that at some point. I've kept up with Beat & Motion(beyond the recent chapter), Akane-banashi(really like the current direction), Undead Unluck, and Ichinose(which feels like it's finding it's direction again even though it's still kinda obscure), and Kaiju No. 8. I'm also more caught up on Sakamoto than others, and I get the feeling we're gearing up for an ending within the next 10-30 chapters. Unless they're gonna pull a Chainsaw Man and start a whole new chapter in the protagonist's life. But I struggle to see them finding a new peak to achieve once this arc ends.

Nah, I agree on PPPPPP. Before, even when I didn't know exactly what was going on, there was a charm that made it still interesting. But between having no Lucky and this kind of meandering focus on the other septuplets, it's just not grabbing me the same. And normally after 3 or so chapters, I understand what's happening and it rings me back in, but not for like 6 now.

Chapter 84 picks up where the next season should start. Chapter 83 ends exactly where Stone Wars ended.
-
Oh, I did read that! I loved it. Also, new Chainsaw Man has me hyped

I'm finally caught up on everything and this week was a strong round of chapters. Sakamoto Days #111 Ichinose Family #17 I'm blanking on specific things to say about the rest other than the Spy x Family chapter was a bit underwhelming, but overall I enjoyed reading everything this week.

I get the feeling Hunter's Guild is in it's way out. We're getting a lot of exposition that feels like mid-series revelations at best, if not straight up endgame. And every time a manga has suddenly ramped up and seemed to jump ahead with no real predication, it's because it wasn't too successful and is just rushing to the end. Same thing happened with Zipman(which was pretty lame by Ch. 4 tbh).

I'm pitifully behind on pretty much everything but PPPPPP for some reason, but I'll be fixing that soon. That's a bummer about Ayashimon, though Yet somehow, Protect Me, Shugomaru still lives lol

JJBA Also, I read the first half of Takopi's Original Sin and it's properly fucked. So I'm extra curious to see where this new series goes.
