    So many new chapters today!!

     

    Fabricant 100

     

    It was pretty clear from the title page that this thing was over, and I immediately felt a bit relieved. This series has been decent but I wouldn't really mind if it went away. It was quite a good final chapter though, some really good panels with No. 100, and then I was a bit sad when I got to the last page.

    Yeah it was a long wait for another episode of JJK. I enjoyed the new episode.

     

    Horimiya is probably AOTS.

     

    A few weeks ago I decided to give Ayaka another try. Still not loving it, but this week's episode was actually quite good. Jingi :salute:

    I have added Martial Master Asumi to my list..! Hopefully I can start reading it this weekend. I'm only about 30ish chapters away from finishing JJBA Diamond is Unbreakable, so I've been pretty focused on that. I am enjoying Diamond is Unbreakable more than I did Stardust Crusaders. Good stuff.

    Jays 2.5 games back of the WC race. Very annoying.

     

    But at least they won the first game of their series against the Nats last night. Their next 11 games are against the Nats (2), Rockies (3), A's (3) and Royals (3). It's a bit too much to expect them to win every game... but honestly, they really should run the table against these bad teams. That's what a good team would do. 

     

    After playing the bad teams, they have four games at home vs. Texas. That could be very impactful in the WC race depending on how things go over the next week and a half.

    Chainsaw Man #141 today

     

    - Only 14 pages :thumbs2:
    - 14 days until the next chapter :thumbs2:
    - But it was a good chapter overall and it looks like sparks are going to fly soon!
    - This author is very good at these more atmospheric chapters, like the first several pages of this chapter that depict all these different scenes with hardly any words. I felt like he employed this style quite a bit in a couple of his one-shots as well

     

     

    Yeah, Shojo Null is super over-the-top. Pretty ridiculous stuff at times. But I am still liking it quite a bit!

    Ohtani is sort of within striking distance of Judge's HR total from last year, so maybe he wants to go for it... Or at least ensure he still wins the AL MVP. But, yeah, I think he'd be smarter to just shut it down for the year. The team ain't going anywhere.

     

    The Jays lost tonight. This series against Cleveland is going to be the death of me if they don't win Saturday and Sunday. This team is killing me :sad: :rip:

    Beat & Motion #14 -- What an incredibly feel-good chapter. It wasn't anything too elaborate, but I thought there were some really beautifully drawn panels in this chapter. Let's hang out again :heart: 

     

    Shojo Null #4 -- OK, so the special police dude is a bit over-the-top... but that seems to make a good villain in this story. I thought the panel of him doing a line was hilarious :rotfl: I am intrigued by the new character introduced at the end of the chapter. Looks like Riaha and Marie have got a new teammate.

    I am going to watch and wait a bit longer before I celebrate the Yankees' struggles. At this point, they're not likely to turn it around... but I want to be really sure about that before I say anything :lol:

    Hey man, glad to see you pop in here!

     

    Sorry about the bad stuff, that's a real bummer :( 

     

    The good news is all great stuff though! My wife and I just pulled the trigger on our first house this spring. Moved in June 1st. It's a lot of money and a lot of work, but having more space has been great. Good luck on the house hunt.

    Any chance that Makima somehow comes back??? I'm assuming not, that would be very random... but I guess it also wouldn't shock me.

    Yeesh, bit of a rough week for your M's, Eizan..! At least they got back in the W column last night. But those losses against the O's a few days ago, and then the walk-off loss to KC... that's tough. Good thing they racked up a nice little win streak before those losses. Getting closer to the WC race again.

    No new chapters this weekend :| 

     

    But we did get a new Chainsaw Man today

     

    Denji is getting used all over again :rotfl: :rotfl:

    This kind of feels a bit like a repeat of the first part, where the person who seemingly wants to help Denji is ultimately bad in the end (like Makima all over again). That feels too predictable though so I'm assuming there will be a twist.

    Yeah, this was a heartbreaking chapter.  Especially the end when she broke down about wanting to win with her Dad's story.  Like you said, knew it was coming, but I was really pulling for her and wanted to see her get the win.  Fucking Kaisei ruining shit.

     

    Yup, I wanted it super bad for Akane. But it's never that easy..! :-/ 

     

    I've got two thumbs way up for both Wild Strawberry and Shojo Null :thumbs: You've gotta give 'em a look when you got a few minutes.

    The Jays turned things up a bit over the weekend. Their AAA call-up (Davis Schneider) had an incredible big league debut. Look at his boxscores from the three games in Boston. Unbelievable stuff from a 28th round draft pick that nobody ever would have put much stock in! I really hope he sticks in the MLB. Super likeable guy.

     

    And, yeah, it is looking rather bleak for the Angels. I think they broke Ohtani. What else can he do? I suppose he'll be MVP in the AL this year, which is cool, but he seems like the kind of dude who just wants his team to win games more so than win individual awards.

    Horimiya -piece- #5

    Usually Sengoku and Remi are my least favourite characters, but they both grew on me a bit in this episode. Sengoku was still pretty annoying during the first half of the episode at the sleepover, even if his pathetic attempts to look under Miyamura's shirt were pretty hilarious :rotfl: But the scene with them walking home from school was rather charming. And then Kono getting Remi the cookies at the end :heart: More excellent comedic relief from Iura in this episode too. Dude is low-key one of the best characters in this series :rotfl: 

     

    In other news: I am *so hyped* for the next few episodes of MIX. I'm not sure if the boys are going all the way to Koshien this summer... but there are still enough episodes left in the summer season that their run isn't over yet. The next game against Seinan is going to be epic.

    Almost got me--I thought for a second there that Yuri actually figured out Loid. But of course, Twilight is always a step ahead. Even if juuuuuuust barely. 



    After all this, I feel like it's the right time to shift the focus onto either Anya or Yor again for a bit. I'd love to see a new story arc centered on Anya and her school buddies, with maybe another Stella coming out of it. But the whole terrorist/bus incident was pretty recent. Maybe Yor is next in line to get some of the spotlight. Kind of hard to complain, whatever we get! I am still really enjoying this series.

    Opened up the Jump app at lunch to read a few more JoJo chapters, but there was a new series so I figured why not give it a whirl. Wow!

     

    Shojo Null #1

     

    At first glance I expected to not like it much, but don't just a book by it's cover I guess. (That first page is just liiiiiittle bit cringey though :lol:)

    I immediately found Riaha's friend group amusing. And then going into the stuff about what Gijin's actually are was interesting, along with of course Riaha's dad's work and gruesome slaughter by the police. There is some gory stuff in this chapter! Gotta say, it was pretty satisfying see Marie wreck those dumbass YouTubers.

    Curious to see where it goes from here.

    New Gokurakugai and Show-ha Shoten! chapters yesterday! (I totally didn't forget that these series even existed :lurk:)

     

    Honestly, not a heck of a lot happened in either chapter, but they were both good.

    Pretty good setup for the competition. Sucks that Broken Glass Slipper drew #1 but I'm curious to see how they handle it.

    I still kind of have a thing for One Way Ticket's friend / quasi-manager :love3:

    I am holding back on passing judgement on Nazutani, but right now I'm leaning towards strongly disliking him. Interested to see if that might turn around or if he's really just a shithead :lol:

    Okay, I am officially down :thumbs2: on this weeks episode of Stray Dogs (#4 of this season)

    This episode felt incredibly random to me. This story has these Gifted characters with all kinds of cool and creative abilities, which I really like. I felt like Fukuchi's abilities and crazy sword were already pushing the limits of what was reasonable... (poor Tachihara). But now we're adding in vampires too??? That was kind of a "jumped the shark" moment to me. Didn't like it. I hope this turns around quick.
