  1. Pretty much all I drink outside of booze is coffee and water. I can always have a coffee (unless I know I'm already at the point where one more cup will get me all jittery). No milk, cream, sugar, flavour shots, syrups, etc. C O F F E E.

I do also like Vietnamese green tea but I can't get the good stuff (from Thái Nguyên fyi) in Canada and I won't settle for less.

I will also on occasion enjoy an A&W root beer if I have a craving for an A&W burger.

  2. I love it when the Red Sox and Yankees eat shit, but it's also sad to see some good pitchers struggling / getting hurt. Something isn't right with Severino, and obviously Sale's start is awful. He seems to have lost his velocity - and right after the big contract extension.

  3. The Jays beat the Red Sox today. Somehow the Jays have more wins on the season than the Red Sox :rotfl: I know it's early, but still! Bad start for Boston

Great Lakes do Edmund Fitzgerald Porter which is gorgeous

Can't say I've tried it but I will keep an eye out for it! I also enjoy their IPA. Can't remember the name, but there's any octopus on the label.

  5. Blue Jays :(

It will be a long summer. But at least there are no expectations. I just want to see what Vlad (and then Bo) can do.

Anybody else morbidly following Chris Davis's hitless streak? Oh man he is bad. Unplayable. They need to give him a break or something.

Also did Mike Trout somehow get better AGAIN? Dude is on a tear right now. It's nuts. He's so good.

  6. Eizan! How's your Vita collection? Still been adding games?

The Jays are awful right now :rip: At least the starting pitchers have turned in some good performances. Nothing much else to say about them until Vlad gets the call up.

The Ms are off to a decent start though! Do you think they can contend this year or is it just a random hot start? They had quite the shake up this winter.

  7. I played the shit out of Diablo 2 all through high school and kept playing on and off over the years. I still fire it up every now and then! But I would probably also like playing D2 with a controller if the controls were setup similarly. They're fairly different games though.

  8. Nah, I never got it / played it prior to getting the Switch version. I think my MacBook would run it but it might not be super smooth. And I think I would have a hard time going to keyboard+mouse controls since my first experience is on console. I actually quite like the control setup on the Switch controller. So it's all Switch version for me.

  9. I'm obviously very late to the party, but I snagged Diablo 3 (Switch) on sale a few weeks back and have been working my way through the single player campaign. Having fun with it so far.

  10. I spend just as much time in the terminal on the Mac as I used to on Linux, too. And I prefer the BSD userland to GNU coreutils so I've never really felt a burning need to change anything / install Linux. Only needed to do some minor changes to my various shell scripts and python programs and then it was basically back to business as usual, except with a different GUI on top.

  11. I split time between Debian/Ubuntu and Arch. I always liked the original design principles behind Arch, and pacman is great too. But I eventually went back to better stability with Debian.

I'm pretty content with macOS so I'm not likely to install Linux on the MacBook, but I did look forward to my next PC purchase - probably not buying another Mac - and then getting back to being a full-time Linux user.

  12. I used Linux exclusively for nearly 10+ years before I bought a MacBook. in... 2015 I think. OS X / macOS has been a pretty big adjustment from what I was used to, but going back to Windows would have been far worse.

  13. I like the special version treatment that Nintendo has given some NES games on the Switch Online thingy. Why not let somebody start Zelda loaded up with items? Whether you're a beginner who needs the help, or a grizzled Zelda vet who just wants to goof around, it's just another way to experience and have fun with the game.

Games that are primarily story driven might as well have a TOC menu that lets you play whichever chapter of the story you want. It doesn't necessarily have to be linear if you don't want it to be.

  14. I started the first episode of Cinderella Nine because it's baseball but it's probably trash. Though even the trashiest baseball anime is probably still better than watching the Jays this summer... :crying:

At least Ace of Diamond is back. Now I just need them to continue Gurazeni.

    And the clay figures..?

Carole & Tuesday (I think it's going to be on Netflix..?)

Speaking of Netflix, if they have lots of money to throw at anime studios to see what they can do then I'm all for it. I just went back and watched Violet Evergarden and wow that show was a thing of beauty. Maybe the best of 2018 in retrospect. Not sure how I missed it last year.

  17. Yeah, I just noticed that Watanabe is listed as the chief director. I guess my hopes are getting a little higher now! Kids on the Slope was one of the best-ever music anime, which of course he also directed, so that's a pretty tough act to follow. Kids on the Slope was so god damn good. Time to watch the Kids on the Slope OP and get super bummed out that I'll never get to watch this show again for the first time :crying2:

  18. This is my kinda topic

Beer: For a long time now my two favourites are from breweries in Toronto: Great Lakes Brewery's Pompous Ass English Ale; and Mill Street Brewery's Tankhouse Ale. I love all kinds of beer but I will turn my nose up at boring, tasteless big-name stuff (Canadian, Blue, Bud, Coors Light, various generic Euro lagers, etc). Life's too short to drink bad beer.

Wine: I mainly like reds but what I drink depends a bit on the time of year. In the summer I like something a bit lighter, top choice is usually La Vieille Ferme or a pinot noir. The rest of the year I probably take something heavier, a malbec or cab. sauv.

Mixed drink: Not something I do very much, but every now and then I like rye + ginger ale or dark rum + coke with lime. Need at least a 50/50 mix or else I'm just drinking pop and what's the point of that.

Straight up booze: Scotch for sure. I'm not a connoisseur by any means and can happily drink anything that isn't obviously cheap shit.

  19. I've for sure gotta keep watching AoT and Ace of Diamond, and the first episode of Fruits Basket was enough to hook me. I've been waiting for a good new music anime so I will also check out Carole & Tuesday (I think it's going to be on Netflix..?) I'm not going in with super high hopes, but if it turns out to be good I'll be happy.

  20. Hi all. What's the story behind the new forum? (I'm sure I can guess but whatever...) Anyway, cool to see lots of old names here
