Sure hope Kyle's ankle is OK Got the sweep though. Bring on the Celtics Right now it looks like they're perhaps the toughest match up for the Raps.

So many bullpen days this summer I'm still excited that baseball is back, but I have to admit that I haven't _really_ enjoyed what I've watched. Not as much as I used to. It feels like the games have gotten even slower if that's possible. The pace of play rule changes don't appear to be working. Pitchers seem to be throwing fewer fastballs - lots of breaking stuff and other slop - and so many at bats go long, full counts, etc. I guess with all the homeruns these days, pitchers are not willing to give in and throw fastballs as much because the hitters will make them pay. They lean more on their breaking pitches. It really is a three true outcome game now. And with so many pitching changes every game, it feels like nobody - pitcher, hitter, or us fans watching at home - can get into the rhythm of the game. I dunno, maybe they need to deaden the balls a bit. I think they're juiced

The Jays have won 5 games in 4 days I didn't get to watch a second of any of the games Caught a bit on the radio though. Also did I read the box scores wrong or are teams only playing 7 inning games for double-headers?
-
Yeah, I peeked at the box score early in the game and saw them losing. Until last year I would have just thought, "Oh well, better luck next time!" But I have a new confidence in the Raps to come back and eventually lock down defensively. They only allowed 19 points in the 4th quarter. I've been watching a lot of games since they started the re-seeding games, and a lot of teams have been quite bad defensively. Even teams like the Bucks and Lakers that had good defensive ratings before the shutdown. I'm not sure what's going on in the bubble. Some games look more like the All-Star game, all scoring and no defense. But the Raptors have still been doing a pretty good job of playing defense, even if there have been some lapses. Fred VanVleet has been so good. Can't help but think he's gone in free agency. There must be at least a couple teams out there with money to spend that need a point guard. He's gonna get paid for sure. Also I'm kinda worried about the Celtics right now. That's gonna be a tough round two match up. Tatum and Brown are playing really good right now, and Kemba's been low-key great too in the bubble.

Raps win again. Didn't get to watch because it was an early game -_-

Bucks and Lakers both drop game 1, maybe these series will be interesting I was hoping for more from the Rockets/Thunder game yesterday but it was pretty boring. I hope they Thunder come back looking better in game 2.

I will do that tomorrow

I have taken to using a custom stylesheet to hide stuff from posts on here / DBZ Center. I like it better, but of course that's just me. I'd just prefer if the board had the ability to customize display settings built in so I don't have to setup custom stylesheets in more than one place (laptop, phone, etc.).

Can we get a setting to hide avatars in posts? I don't see signatures on mobile, which is great. I don't want to see avatars either.

I actually watched the Jays lose twice yesterday

I can see the Blazers taking one or two games, but a lot would have to go right for them to win the series. They are definitely a better team than a typical 8 seed, but their defense is almost non-existent. They don't have anybody to guard LeBron, and they will have lots of trouble with Davis and the other Lakers bigs. The Lakers should absolutely feast on points in the paint and rebounds. For the Blazers to win games, it's not enough for Lillard to be great. They need CJ and Melo to hit big shots, and Nurkic will have to carry a heavy load trying to defend and rebound. The other Blazer bigs aren't going to do much good in this match up. I hope the Blazers win a game early to make the series interesting, but the odds of them knocking of L.A. seem very small to me.
-
I'm waiting to see if he can still be Playoff LeBron and take over games when he needs to. He wasn't very good in the re-seeding games - though the Lakers didn't have anything to play for in those games, so they didn't matter much. Anyway, I think the Lakers have a good chance even if LeBron isn't what he used to be... but it's not a slam dunk to me.

Might be fun. I'd like to see the NHL, NBA, etc. mix things up a bit and try more new things. The NBA has been toying with the idea of a mid-season tournament. I don't think everybody is on board with it yet, but it could be fun. Basketball gets pretty boring basically from All-Star weekend until the playoffs start. I guess they're trying to think up a way to steal some attention away from March Madness.

Well they're down 2-0 now with approx. 7 minutes to go, so it looks like losing as usual. Your Canucks can take a run at the asterisk Stanley Cup. Gonna be hard to maintain physical distancing at the riots if they get close and lose though --- 2ish minutes left now, Leafs still scoreless
-
Leafs down 1-0 near the end of the 2nd
-
They don't do anything but they are for some reason The Chosen Ones. Can't argue with that, they gotta be there

Appare-Ranman! is picking up and getting more interesting now. I'm glad it's back. Jing

Leafs fans were losing their shit last night down 3-0 late, I think there were less than 4 minutes left in the game when they finally scored their first goal. Pretty impressive comeback for them (or a pretty impressive collapse for the Blue Jackets - I wasn't watching so I don't really know how it all went down). Game 5 is tomorrow night and I trust the Leafs will find a way to break their fans hearts yet again Based on what they've done this season, they really don't seem like a very good team. They've got some talented players for sure, but that ain't enough. Seems like they don't really care enough / try hard enough.

I ain't playin' nuffin. The NISA sale came and went on the eShop, so I didn't buy The Alliance Alive HD Remaster. Wasn't going to play it any time soon, so no big deal. It will go on sale again in another 3-6 months. Maybe next time it's discounted, I will actually have time for it. Now Ys 8 is on sale so that is my latest temptation Probably not gonna pull the trigger on that either. I'm trying to stash some extra money away for music gear.

I wonder if they will try to finish the season with fewer teams if COVID issues persist with e.g. The Marlins. Can't help but feel like it's all going to fall apart soon though.

Happy birthday, Eizan!

Basketball is back, and it's in a bubble! (Here's hoping the bubble doesn't pop) I watched most of both games last night. Parts were hard to watch, especially the Clippers/Lakers game. Too many whistles. The game didn't flow. But I'm happy that hoops are back as long as the bubble keeps working and nobody is testing positive. I feel a lot better watching NBA given their plan than I do watching the stupid MLB

The Jays' weekend series with the Phillies is cancelled. The Marlins of course still aren't playing. Just saw an article about the Cards on The Athletic: Another team down Apparently they're planning to play the games Saturday/Sunday as long as the rest of the Cards test negative. A negative test isn't really worth much though. Players could still start exhibiting symptoms and test positive just a few days later. A negative test today is don't mean much when they've recently been in contact with teammates who had the virus. The league ought to know better than this. It's getting harder and harder to imagine this shortened season actually getting finished.
