The Bucks finally won a game against the Heat today - mostly without Giannis. I'm not sure if they can win another though.

From a game recap thing on nba.com: You love to hear it (Here's hoping they don't run out of gas too early! There's no travel though, and they were off for a few months before the restart... they really shouldn't be *that* tired)

Kyle's the heart of this team. When he's aggressive, making shots, drawing fouls, the team does well. Fred wasn't amazing last night, but he hit his shots when it really counted. And Serge was a great spark off the bench. Siakam, Fred, and Kyle played 46, 45, and 44 minutes last night respectively. And Kyle and OG each played huge minutes in game 3. Nurse is going to have to keep riding these guys to win this series.

I guess it's a good experience for the team then (mostly young players, I assume?). Maybe they can learn from it and come back stronger next year. I hope the Blue Jays can accomplish something similar this year. They're on a bit of a roll right now and in the thick of the AL Wild Card race. If they can get in as the WC team, they have the potential to cause some trouble for whatever team they would play in the Division Series. I doubt they'd win a series, but it would be a good experience for the team and they could make the other team sweat a little bit.

Expectations weren't super high for the Canucks going into the season, right?

Last week as I was driving around, the odometer in my company truck hit 333333 km (three hundred thousand three hundred thirty three). Sadly, I only took ownership of it when it had approx. 225000 km on it already, so I didn't get to see it roll over 111111 or 222222. For whatever reason, I take great joy in seeing these random odometer numbers, especially long repeating numbers like 333333 and palindromic numbers (eg, it would have rolled over 331133 not too long ago). Big, round numbers like 100,000, 200,000, etc. are fun too, but not quite as fun. I guess now I'll wait and see if the engine has enough life left in it to get to 444444 km! Who else here drives a lot and enjoys seeing numbers like this come up on their odometer? How many miles/kms are on your vehicle right now? Inquiring minds want to know.
-
It also depends on how much you drive and how frequently you trade in your vehicles. Some people never make it to big numbers on their odometer. I do outside sales and my territory is basically all of southwestern Ontario, so I normally drive a lot (COVID-19 has of course changed everything). And the company isn't keen on spending lots of money right now, so I'm basically driving this truck until it dies. Slow and steady, the klicks will keep adding up. I'm back out on the road a bit more these days.

It's a bummer when I miss a good number on my odometer. I am always aware when something cool is coming, but if I forget about when I'm driving I miss it

Wowzers, 800000 km is pretty nuts. I wonder how much of that truck is still original?

They dug themselves into a hole in first half. Not easy playing from behind, especially against a team that seems to be better overall right now. But it was promising to see them outscore the Celtics in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Let's keep that up going into game 4 and really make it a series please! Had they not totally blown the 4th quarter of game 2, they'd be up 2-1 now...
-
Well, they pulled out a win. They needed that performance from Lowry. VanVleet was better too. Guard play seems to be the key to winning this series. It's a bad match up for Siakam, and he isn't a superstar kinda guy like like Kawhi (or even Tatum) who can get a basket at any time for the team.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars: Optimized versions of 3D Mario games Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy are coming to Nintendo Switch in one package.

I'll pass on both, thanks

I made a Discord account back near the start of the pandemic to try to reconnect with some Internet buds from an old forum from forever ago. Turns out we were all either to lazy to actually login or never online at the same time as each other. Might as well have just kept posting on a forum. So in response to the topic question, "What do?" Deactivate/delete that sucker and post more here!

I just took a look at the bracket because I don't even know which teams are in or out anymore... Good to see the Bruins out. And I hope the Flyers are next to go. I probably won't watch any games, but I would maybe jump on the Isles' bandwagon if they get to the Cup Finals. There aren't any likeable teams left in the West

What out-of-season anime have you watched recently?
dr. b replied to Vic Boss's topic in Anime & Manga
Apparently Erased is on Netflix now. I might have to give that one a re-watch soon -
The free throw discrepancy in the first halves of both games was questionable... but the Celtics have appeared to be a bit more disciplined on defense. And the Raps were especially sloppy in game 1. I took my kids out to the park at the end of the 3rd quarter tonight. At the time the Raps were in the lead. Glad I didn't stay home to watch Q4

I'll cheer for the Dads The Jays made some moves at the deadline that might make them a bit more competitive. They are in on the Wild Card race. All the teams behind them are bad so their position seems fairly safe if they keep playing well. They probably won't get far in the postseason, but I'll be excited anyways!

Self isolation, social distancing, sheltering in place, whatever else you call it

Did they try anything else after that? I've read a bit about ECMO, sounds like it helps in at least some critical cases. I'm not sure how widely available that treatment is though. -
Speaking of kryptonite, the Bucks may not get past Miami. They seem like a team built to beat the Bucks.
-
I watched through the 3rd quarter and then gave in. So many missed shots. The Celtics are very good. It's going to be a tough series. Right now I'd probably bet against the Raps

That's a bummer, sorry to hear it. Was she on a ventilator for the last few days? -
Correct
