    Fall Anime 2020

I might check that out! Maybe the yokai and cool powers will remind me a bit of Yu Yu Hakusho. That's an all-time favourite for me.
  2. We all have our moments when we lose our minds over things, I guess. Except for the people that just nuts 24/7. That must be fun.

    Astros fans right now:
  7. Who here has experience/insight that they can share? @Jane or @Anelle ? My daughter wants a drawing tablet for her 10th birthday. She draws constantly (comics, pictures, designs her own Pokemon, etc., etc.). She's nuts about it. She wants to be able to draw on the computer and then learn how to make animations of her drawings. I am looking at the Wacom Intuos tablets (not the Pro series). The medium sized tablet is probably the most I'm willing to spend (279.99 CAD) and has a 8.5 x 5.3" drawing area. Is that a decent choice? Not sure if the small version would be too limiting Are there other brands of tablets that you would recommend instead?

She draws a ton, so she has definitely put in a lot of practice!

This is doodle #1 from her experimentation with Procreate. I think it's a raccoon.

I still haven't watched anything new yet But I'm gonna run out of City Hunter soon and nothing on Netflix is exciting me (tried Great Pretender which looked great, but I bailed on it pretty quick because why do they gotta speak English so much ) so I'm eventually gonna get bored enough to give something new a go on Crunchyroll. Their lineup (and shitty unreliable service these days) is not very impressive though...

I remember hearing this on the radio so many times as a child and just having no clue what the singer was saying in the chorus. "Panama" didn't even sound like a word to me What a shitshow of a music video

Can't say I've ever been a huge Van Halen fan, but the man had incredible chops and influenced so many guitar players. Can't argue with that. I'm rocking "Runnin' With the Devil" at max volume tonight Got a favourite Van Halen track? Post it!

Thanks for the tip, I forgot to reply earlier in the week We already got her setup with Procreate on the iPad and she's loving it so far. Definitely *a lot* to learn, but she has at least got the hang of working with layers, changing brushes, drawing, filling in colours, using the eye dropper / colour picker, etc. Don't need much more than that to start. We'll just keep learning as we go.
  15. That sounds kinda frustrating. My situation is a bit of the opposite; even though we're being very careful, really limiting non-essential stuff and pretty much not getting together with anybody, many of my relatives (mum especially) are like hyper-serious about this stuff and will sometimes imply that I am not doing enough to stay safe. I got lectured because I do not disinfect my door knobs and keys every single time I leave and re-enter our apartment I wear a mask, wash my hands religously, keep my hands away from my face unless I'm sure they're clean, keep physical distance from people, don't really get together with anybody anyways, etc. I feel like that is satisfactory.

The Rays better not let it go to game 7 Tough finish to Kershaw's start last night.
  18. Yeah, I was pretty surprised. Less than 48 hours. I was expecting it to take 5 or 6 days.

Did you see that 11-run first inning last night? 10 of those runs scored with 2 outs Might as well have called the game there.
  20. Got our results this morning - all of the tests were negative. Huzzah. We are once again allowed to leave our apartment
  21. How much time between that gathering and when Lee went to get tested? I think if you go too soon after a potential exposure, there's a chance of a false negative..?
  22. We did the up-the-nose thing this morning. It's pretty unpleasant.
  23. We can expect day-time highs of 15 C if we're lucky this time of year, more likely closer to 10. At night it's not dipping below 0 yet, but it'll get close. Not cold by any means, but after summer people aren't ready to have to dress for the cooler temps and then those cold viruses starting flying around.

Barves scored 4 runs in the 9th last night to beat the Dodgers 5-1. And now Kershaw is scratched for today's game (back spasms). Could be a quick 2-0 lead for Atlanta, though they also have a pretty long history now of postseason disappointments so I would not be shocked to see L.A. punch back and even it out. Which team can out-choke the other?
  25. Yeah, our little one started it all on Friday night with a very runny nose, then it was my wife, then me, and then our older daughter started coughing yesterday. Coincidentally, last week was our toddler's first week at childcare. Colds go around a lot at childcare centres. It's also been cooler weather lately. Lots of people get colds this time of year. But it seemed a bit irresponsible to just assume that it's only a cold. On the off chance that it is COVID, I don't want to be responsible for spreading it around
