Still on my 80s kick

I'm in an 80s mood today

Betts wasn't great at the plate in the NLCS, but yeah his defensive impact was definitely felt. I think he only had one extra-base hit (a double) in the whole series; no HRs, one 2B, and a handful of singles. I'm sure they're hoping he looks a bit more MVP-like in the World Series. His career batting numbers vs. Tampa Bay from his Boston years are quite good, so maybe that familiarity will be a good thing facing the Rays in the WS.

Rays vs. Dodgers starts tomorrow night in Texas!

Good job Rays for beating the Astros. Also, fuck the Rays. World Series starts on Tuesday. I'm still hoping for a Rays / Dodgers matchup. But I don't know who the Dodgers have available to pitch tonight. Might need their lineup to score a lot of runs to make it through tonight.

I might check that out! Maybe the yokai and cool powers will remind me a bit of Yu Yu Hakusho. That's an all-time favourite for me.

Who here has experience/insight that they can share? @Jane or @Anelle ? My daughter wants a drawing tablet for her 10th birthday. She draws constantly (comics, pictures, designs her own Pokemon, etc., etc.). She's nuts about it. She wants to be able to draw on the computer and then learn how to make animations of her drawings. I am looking at the Wacom Intuos tablets (not the Pro series). The medium sized tablet is probably the most I'm willing to spend (279.99 CAD) and has a 8.5 x 5.3" drawing area. Is that a decent choice? Not sure if the small version would be too limiting Are there other brands of tablets that you would recommend instead?

She draws a ton, so she has definitely put in a lot of practice!

I still haven't watched anything new yet But I'm gonna run out of City Hunter soon and nothing on Netflix is exciting me (tried Great Pretender which looked great, but I bailed on it pretty quick because why do they gotta speak English so much ) so I'm eventually gonna get bored enough to give something new a go on Crunchyroll. Their lineup (and shitty unreliable service these days) is not very impressive though...

Thanks for the tip, I forgot to reply earlier in the week We already got her setup with Procreate on the iPad and she's loving it so far. Definitely *a lot* to learn, but she has at least got the hang of working with layers, changing brushes, drawing, filling in colours, using the eye dropper / colour picker, etc. Don't need much more than that to start. We'll just keep learning as we go.

That sounds kinda frustrating. My situation is a bit of the opposite; even though we're being very careful, really limiting non-essential stuff and pretty much not getting together with anybody, many of my relatives (mum especially) are like hyper-serious about this stuff and will sometimes imply that I am not doing enough to stay safe. I got lectured because I do not disinfect my door knobs and keys every single time I leave and re-enter our apartment I wear a mask, wash my hands religously, keep my hands away from my face unless I'm sure they're clean, keep physical distance from people, don't really get together with anybody anyways, etc. I feel like that is satisfactory.

Since when does anybody visit anybody anymore More like "bring your own controller and proof of vaccination when you visit" whenever that time comes
