I think I will have increased capacity for watching anime over the winter. What else will there be to do? For sure watching: - SnK - Jujutsu Kaisen (I think it will continue into winter..?) - Neverland - Dr. Stone I feel like I'm also going to need some slice of life and comedic relief if we're in lockdown for part of the winter and I start spiraling, so I will check out Horimiya and Bungou Stray Dogs Wan! and perhaps others. I haven't look at the whole winter chart yet. Finally, as always, I will continue to search for my Holy Grail -- anime original, 12-13 episodes with a good story. Back Arrow could be promising, and I will probably also give SK? a look too.

First episode of the final season was pretty solid I think MAPPA has gotten off to a decent start. I'm not crazy about the opening or ending themes, but oh well. So much crazy shit is going to go down. I can't wait to see it all animated I'm up-to-date on the manga so I know what's coming, but that really doesn't take anything away from it.

Since it's a monthly, I don't think it can drag on too much longer now that the final anime season has started airing. Won't take long for the anime to catch up.

Haven't picked up my Switch in weeks. Too busy playing and tinkering with my bass guitars. I really do need to get back to playing Project Diva though.

Amused but also annoyed -- saw this in my inbox this morning, it's only Dec. 4th

Yeah I'm not sure how much incentive he has to practice But even if he does keep up his training regimen, if he starts losing bat speed like many aging players do, there's not much he can do about that. It can be hard for dudes in their late 30's to keep up with 100 mph fastballs. MLB offseason has been so boring so far. NBA free agency was a crazy weekend with trades and signings all over the place, just constant movement. The Blue Jays are getting tied to some impact players - both because they've said they want to add an impact player and because everybody knows they have the money to do it - but it's hard to say how legit the reports are. Get somebody already so I have something to get excited about please, Blue Jays

Yeah I kinda like this guy

Yeah things were looking up for the Mets with Cohen taking over and starting to clean house in the front office. The Cano news is a bad look, even if it's not really the team's fault. I wonder if there's some loophole where they can just cut him due to multiple PED suspensions and not be on the hook for the rest of his contract..? He was actually pretty decent in 2020, but now it's hard to say if that was legit or not. His deal is for $24 million annually until 2023 The drug suspension will make him forfeit his 2021 salary though.

Looooots of stuff on sale on the eShop right now, and not just shitty games. I'm very tempted to snag Ys VIII and The Alliance Alive ... but I am hemorrhaging money right now and really shouldn't buy any games. Ugh.

I'm about 0% interested in the secondary characters. Gimme episodes about Itadori, Fushiguro, Hammer Girl, and Gojo wasting bad guys. That's all I need.

JAZZ, I'll play along It's maybe not too cool to take up almost 8 minutes of a 60 minute mixtape with just one song, but I'm doing it anyhow; "On My Way to Harlem" by the fantastic Gregory Porter: CURRENT TIME: 10:59

Robinson Cano suspended 162 games for PED violation This is his second violation so he got a full season ban. If the 2021 season is a shorter schedule then I wonder if the ban carries over into 2022..?

We certainly didn't plan it that way! But we're actually scaling back xmas and bday stuff this year anyway. Neither of my kids plays much with toys, so lots of gifts are just left to collect dust after they're opened. The big one likes to draw, read, and sometimes play video games. When she has free time, all she wants to do is draw or write stories on her Chromebook. The little one loves books too. It's basically books and new clothes this year, and maybe a Switch game. Seems kinda lame to me, but they're not going to mind.

I'm still on the fence about buying one. Between Nov. 26 and Christmas we've got a wedding anniversary, both of my kids' birthdays, and then of course Christmas. It's a really hard time of year for my wallet. Probably can't justify $80 after tax on this thing, tempting as it is.

Yeah these last few episodes did feel just a bit rushed. There was opportunity missed to stretch it out a bit longer, work in some backstory, etc.

Self isolation, social distancing, sheltering in place, whatever else you call it

I'm more often worried that an old lady will get mad at me if I don't give enough space, but I guess it depends on each person. Some olds folks are hyper-aware of how they are more at risk and are superduper cautious, while others seem to be completely unconcerned about it. For a while our grocery store was doing special seniors shopping hours from 7am-8am everyday and you could only go in the store if you were a million years old, so I hope all the "at risk and really worried about it" old folks shop during that time. -

I will admit that I have once or twice been tempted to ask somebody, "These arrows are confusing eh?" but so far I have kept quiet. I do find it a bit astonishing how so many people seem to still be oblivious to them -

Does your store also do the one-way traffic thing in the aisles to control the flow of how the customers move? There are arrows up and down all of the floors of every supermarket here, have been for months, and still most people don't notice them. Doesn't really bother me much, but I have seen a couple people get "arrow-rage" and chew somebody out for walking the wrong way down an aisle -
I got a bit curious about PS5 for a minute but the price tag reminded me why I'm not at all interested (Not that I'd be able to find one anywhere anyways...) But then I had a look at the games available e.g. at Best Buy and a couple other places, and the list is pretty unimpressive. I think there are only 7 titles in stock at my local Best Buy. Are there better games available via the PS Store? What are you guys even playing on your PS5's ?

Who's still keeping up with Digimon Adventure? Episode 24: I thought maybe this would be a 25/26 episode thing just for the spring/summer seasons and then come back next spring, but now it's looking more like they'll just keep on trucking thru the fall and winter. According to the Toei website, the series format is "66 eps x 23 min" so we're not even halfway done yet.

Everything sucks right now But it especially sucks for the people working retail. It's good that they'll be limiting occupancy limits in your state, Slix, but I guess the trade-off there is that many people really don't like having to wait in lines to get in stores, so you'll probably have to deal with more cranky customers than usual I'm lucky that I can work from home when needed. Can't drive to the office anyways while I'm without a vehicle. If I'm lucky we might get that shit sorted out with the insurance company this week... -
Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. 69.99 CAD for a nifty looking little handheld with SMB, SMB 2, and a Game & Watch game. I don't think it's worth the $$$ but I can't help buy want to get one

This is more or less the approach that the province of Ontario seems to be taking right now. They are of course worried about the negative impacts on small- and medium-sized businesses if they do a hard lockdown, but, like... how are they small business owners gonna run their businesses if they die from COVID? I guess it's a lose-lose situation for governments no matter what they do, but I'd learn toward stricter lockdown measures. Things are starting to go downhill here and by December I think it could be really bad
