  1. Saw a thing about it. Apparently they didn't even ask Lawrence Fishburne to be in it. So if the MMO is still considered canon, I'm assuming this is supposed to be a young version of him that exists only in the Matrix now or something.

Guessing there will be a lot of weird mind-fuck type stuff in this that should at least keep it interesting. It's definitely the kind of thing that if it had never come out it would have been fine, but it seems like they're doing something interesting so I'll watch it.

Well that was... a game. This was honestly a really intriguing looking game and I have been looking forward to it for some time. You probably saw a trailer for it at some point if you watched any game shows the past year or two. Takes place in a single apartment, top down view, characters voiced by Daisy Riddley, James McAvoy and Willem Defoe about a guy stuck in a time loop trying to figure out what's happening.

It starts off really strong. Lots of mystery, lots to figure out, but you quickly get ahead of the narrative a bit and the game expects you to do some very specific things on occasion to make meaningful progress in a given loop which eventually leads to it being a bit tedious (luckily you can skip through conversations and such generally). Was still relatively enjoyable to get thrings progressed and find out more. And then it goes in for the BIG twist at the end and it's just... WTF. It still may have been salvageable, but the actual ending is just garbage. Absolute garbage. It doesn't explain what's going on, why anything happened and a number of other things. There are a few different endings,  and I saw a couple, but the "real" ending (I guess?) completely resets the progress and I just can't be fucking bothered to deal with this shit again to find out for sure.

There were some really good ideas in this game, and the voice acting was pretty good but it it really flubbed the landing it feels like and took what could have been a pretty solid game that had a few hitches, into an absolute mess that felt kind of disappointing overall. Might be worth dicking around with if you can get it for under $10 (maybe closer to $5).

  3. Yep. It's been that since the series existed. Even in in-game terms, that's literally been everything since the beginning of existence basically. The Gardener vs the Winnower, Light vs. Darkness, etc.

Kind of expecting some sort of "basically Darkness, but by another name" type shit, but maybe they'll surprise us.

  4. 14.) :pc: Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption

First VtM game ever made, back in like 2000. Never got a chance to play it as my old computer just would NOT run it properly for whatever weird ass reason. New one ran it fine though. Combat was pretty clunky and really unpleasant a lot of the time and the story dialogue was super cheesy (which is to be expected from a game this old), but overall it was a good story that had a LOT of depth and thought put into it from the world building side of things. I can see why people liked it so much. It has a shitty multiplayer mode as well,  because apparently the expectation from Activision was that they'd be able to compete with Diablo 2. :rotfl:

  5. Really liked a lot of what they talked about. They've been building to this story since Forsaken, so it's nice to see some of it starting to play out. Wish I was able to play the new season right away since that's something I've been waiting on for a long time too story-wise, but I'm on vacation and won't be home until late Saturday night, so I have to wait a bit.

Also curious about what they'll do once the whole "Light vs Darkness" thing is wrapped up. Because that's kind of just been... what Destiny is. It's been the core of the story since the beginning. Guess we'll see in a few years. XD

  6. Yeah, I've been seeing stuff about it. The Poison control hotline thing has been seeing MASSIVE spikes in calls from people taking the stuff. Like, what the actual fuck.

In other news, the schools in our district are not requiring masks (not banned outright like some of our idiot states), but there's also NO option for online learning. My oldest two are vaccinated now, but my 8 year old can't get it. Going to have all 3 wear masks just to be safe with the way things are progressing with the new variants, but this is just exhausting at this point.

Saw there was a school somewhere that got around their state ban by making masks a part of the schools dress code. :rotfl:

And in yet other places, we have mobs threatening school board members when they get out of meetings relating to Covid precautions. I just can't anymore. -_-

  7. I heard they might do that. Wonder if that's going to fuck over the "use all your ammo and it will give you a small amount of ammo for each weapon" thing you could do. I'm guessing yes. Because leave it to Bungie to somehow turn giving infinite ammo on a weapon slot into a nerf. :rotfl:

  8. So it seems there was a hidden bit in the epilogue mission. Off to the side of the starting area you can find a friendly Harpy with a blue glowing eye instead of the usual red which some people think could be the one from Nessus we saw from one of the Exotic missions, however it's making noises that translate from morse code as "Assistant", so some people are thinking it's Asher Mir trying to communicate through it (or that is IS Asher I guess).

  9. 12.) :pc: Vampire: The Masquerade - Out for Blood

The is the 2nd of 3 text adventure games that are being put out for VtM. This one has you playing as a human in a relatively typical "vampire in a small town" story that gave me some major Salem's Lot vibes, but was REALLY well put together. The branching narratives seem really diverse and there were some interesting options and endings available. Liked it a lot more than I was expecting considering you typically play the vampire in this setting and not the human. Looking forward to the 3rd one.

    13.) :pc: Death's Door

Fantastic game. Felt like an old Legend of Zelda game in terms of magic abilities (bow and arrow, fire, bombs, chain shot to cross gabs), exploration and feel, but with a light Souls-like aspect with dodging being super important and how respawning/saving worked. Story was straight forward, but interesting and the characters and general feel of the game were full of charm and humor. Felt pretty worthwhile for a $20 game.

  10. lol, yeah. I'd like to see some wild ones eventually. Sounded like they were being pretty conservative with their initial pitches. I remember reading an article that talked about one of the rejected ones basically being "Thor, but it's Jane Foster!" and they were just like "... um, no. That's already the plot of an upcoming movie..." :rotfl:

Peggy Carter getting the serum instead of Steve felt like playing it a bit safe too, but it was fun for a first go. Hoping we'll see some interesting divergence with T'Challa in Peter Quill's place, because that's the kind of thing I was not expecting when this was announced.

  11. I really liked it. It was a fun watch. Looking forward to seeing more for sure. Glad they were able to get at least some original cast members for their roles too. Really hoping that will include Michael Rooker. Will be nice to hear Chadwick Boseman one last time too.

It's not supposed to be Tommy Lee Jones' character. That was 'Colonel Chester Phillips'. You can actually see him in the episode where Peggy refuses to leave the room. He's the one who gets shot by the Hydra agent after the explosion, before Steve gets shot. The character we see in his place in this was Colonel John Flynn, who we see in Agent Carter. He's voiced by his actor from the show. This guy: https://marvelcinematicuniverse.fandom.com/wiki/John_Flynn

  12. Really interested in where it's going from here.

Was suspicious of him before, but I'm pretty much 100% sure that Osiris is actually Savathun now. Things he was saying throughout the season all sounded slightly off and one of the lore books pushes the idea even further in that direction, but that whole last set of quests pretty much ensures it. My only hope therein is that the real him is still alive and maybe even Sagira too.

I wasn't expecting that many characters to go out at once honestly. I figured a good chunk would die throughout the movie definitely, but not within like 5 min. of the movie starting. XD  Margot Robbie continues to shine in that roll for sure. Especially with this writing and directing. I guess she did that entire scene where she's hanging handcuffed from the ceiling herself with no doubles or anything, including grabbing the key with her feet, flipping up and inserting it.

  14. Yep.

Was expecting it to be a prequel, especially after how the end of the movie played out, but then saw the after credit scene and was like WHELP, GUESS NOT. XD

Bonus fun fact, Robert Patrick (played the T-1000 in Terminator 2) is going to play his father.

Kind of wonder if there will be cameo's from any of the other characters in the movie.

  15. Probably my favorite of the DC movies for sure. Everything about it was great. Even with Idris Elba/Bloodsport being damn near a 1:1 stand in for Will Smith/Deadshot, it showed what the first movie SHOULD have been like in that regard.

Side note, I watched an interview with Gunn, Cena and Robbie and apparently James Gunn got bored during the pandemic while he was editing the movie and wrote and out the scripts for a full season of a Peacemaker TV show and that's going to be a thing on HBO Max (he's the director for most of the episodes as well). Filming wrapped for it last month and is expected to premiere early next year, so there's that to look forward to I guess. XD

I'm trying to keep my anxieties over it low because
-We were planning with being prepared with masks/personal lysol wipes/etc.
-We were going to help support our vendors and gig performers after they got hit hard last year from events cancelling. In fact majority of my money went to tipping every busker and show even if I didn't sit in to see it. (like if we were walking by a show wrapping up and I saw 'the hat' or a tip jar I went and threw money in.
    - We were winging it and not stressing over details, it was the first time my friends and I weren't performing in 10 years so we were going in with no plans. Just enjoying.

Yeah, we're planning to prepare as much as possible, but we also have the hang up of needing to have a 2 year old with us. We were planning on being gone for the weekend (ours is about 3 hours away from where we live) and we can't leave her gone that long. Even at the height of the lockdown, masks everywhere, social distancing in force, it was nearly impossible to keep people the fuck away from her because "oh look at the cute baby". :twitch:

Gonna have to carry a stick or something. Do the Cartman thing. :rotfl:
