    Completed Games (2021)

1 - Miles Morales: Spider-Man 2 - Astro's Playroom 3 - Hitman 3 4 - SNES Online: Super Mario Bros 2 (Super Mario All-Stars version) 5 - Mass Effect 1 (Legendary Edition) 6 - The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD 7 - Metroid:Zero Mission 8 - Axiom Verge 2 9 - Another Metroid 2 Remake 10 - (SNES) Super Metroid 11 - Metroid Fusion 12 - Metroid Dread (Normal mode) 12a - Metroid Dread (100% items, Normal mode) 12b) - Metroid Dread (100% items, Hard mode) Honorable mention: Doom 64 Hard mode wasn't really all that tough. The only real thing I did differently, besides getting 100% item completion before the final boss, is use one of the secret Kraid kills, which was neat to see. Last boss was a real pushover once I remembered how to beat each of his forms.

1 - Miles Morales: Spider-Man 2 - Astro's Playroom 3 - Hitman 3 4 - SNES Online: Super Mario Bros 2 (Super Mario All-Stars version) 5 - Mass Effect 1 (Legendary Edition) 6 - The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD 7 - Metroid:Zero Mission 8 - Axiom Verge 2 9 - Another Metroid 2 Remake 10 - (SNES) Super Metroid 11 - Metroid Fusion 12 - Metroid Dread (Normal mode) 12a - Metroid Dread (100% items, Normal mode) Honorable mention: Doom 64 Some of these items were a bit of a bitch, but Zero Mission had some harder ones. I just wish there was a different button to start the sprint/shinespark than the left stick.

Outside of that, it was a pretty good game. Definitely not my favorite Metroid (that's still Super Metroid), but this definitely has the best controlling Samus by far. I'd give it maybe an 8 out of 10.

The only canonical game left outside of the Prime series is probably Other M, but fuck that. I'm officially ready for Metroid Dread.

1 - Miles Morales: Spider-Man 2 - Astro's Playroom 3 - Hitman 3 4 - SNES Online: Super Mario Bros 2 (Super Mario All-Stars version) 5 - Mass Effect 1 (Legendary Edition) 6 - The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD 7 - Metroid:Zero Mission 8 - Axiom Verge 2 9 - Another Metroid 2 Remake 10 - (SNES) Super Metroid Honorable mention: Doom 64 Been going through the Metroid games leading up to Dread. Probably won't go through the Prime games, as outside of Prime 1 I have no way of playing them. Next/final is Metroid Fusion. This is the first game I played through to completion on my Super Nt on a real cart with a real controller, felt really good.

1 - Miles Morales: Spider-Man 2 - Astro's Playroom 3 - Hitman 3 4 - SNES Online: Super Mario Bros 2 (Super Mario All-Stars version) 5 - Mass Effect 1 (Legendary Edition) 6 - The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD 7 - Metroid:Zero Mission 8 - Axiom Verge 2 9 - Another Metroid 2 Remake Honorable mention: Doom 64 Forgot to add that I beat Metroid: Zero Mission again before beating Axiom Verge 2. I started playing AM2R before Axiom Verge 2, but some dumbass alt+tab bug in a recent Windows update made it so that the game would load and immediately minimize, and I was unable to bring it back up to full screen. I fixed that issue, and figured i'd try running AM2R again, and lo and behold it worked. I really liked this remake, although the final boss was laughably easy.

    1) Miles Morales: Spider-Man 2) Astro's Playroom 3) Hitman 3 4) SNES Online: Super Mario Bros 2 (Super Mario All-Stars version) 5) Mass Effect 1 (Legendary Edition) 6) The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD 7) Axiom Verge 2 Honorable mention: Doom 64 I liked the first a lot better. The melee combat ended up being kind of annoying, I stayed in drone form most of the time mainly for a slightly longer ranged attack, a smaller hitbox, and at some point you get a grappling hook/floating ability which makes moving around in that form a hell of a lot easier. If I hadn't found a video walkthrough on Youtube, I probably wouldn't have made it through this game. I got stuck so many times, which was incredibly frustrating. Ending spoiler below:

    1) Miles Morales: Spider-Man 2) Astro's Playroom 3) Hitman 3 4) SNES Online: Super Mario Bros 2 (Super Mario All-Stars version) 5) Mass Effect 1 (Legendary Edition) 6) The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Honorable mention: Doom 64 I remember liking this game the first time more than I did this time. Having to go back to the three main areas multiple times made the last time really drag on. Played mostly with button controls, and had quite a few frustrating moments trying to go from moving the camera to swinging the sword. Both are mapped to the right stick, but to move the camera you hold R. There were lots of times where is be rotating the camera, and sudde ly Link would pull out his sword and the camera would stop rotating. Other times I'd be rotating the camera while moving, let go of R to start swinging my sword, only for it to not swing for a few seconds. It's still one of my favorite Zelda stories, Zelda herself had a ton of personality and a great arc, and the final battle was pretty epic. Playing through this makes me wonder if it'll connect to BotW2 at all, seeing as how BotW2 has had islands in the sky in some of their trailers.

Shinespark stuff is some of the most rewarding, but also most frustrating aspects of 100%ing any Metroid game. I know if I didn't have save states, I'd have given up before finishing them. There's at least one in Zero Mission that was a bitch to get (in the final area of the game) that involves shinesparking up multiple levels, multiple rooms, a falling section, and a button press at the exact right time, but it felt so good to actually get it done.

    1) Miles Morales: Spider-Man 2) Astro's Playroom 3) Hitman 3 4) SNES Online: Super Mario Bros 2 (Super Mario All-Stars version) 5) Mass Effect 1 (Legendary Edition) Honorable mention: Doom 64 Did mostly the same thing I did originally, went mostly paragon, killed Ashley on Virmire, didn't get Wrex killed or Saren to kill himself. Playing through on easy because I've already beaten it multie times.

A lot of the levels are small enough that you could finish one or two in a short sitting, and then continue playing later.

Not going to add this to my official list, but I beat Doom 64 with cheating on the end boss. I got through everything else but that without cheats. The boss was ridiculously overpowered, with rockets that fly as fast if not faster than you can run and they home in on you, and another flame attack that will knock you into the air and kill your momentum, so you can get gangbanged by the rockets. There were a few places to hide, but even if I managed to round a corner between me and one of the many rockets, the splash damage would kill me. I was enjoying the game up until that point.

    1) Miles Morales: Spider-Man 2) Astro's Playroom 3) Hitman 3 4) SNES Online: Super Mario Bros 2 (Super Mario All-Stars version) The boyfriend and I played through this over the weekend. I'd never beaten it all the way through without warps before, so there was a good chunk of the game I was unfamiliar with. I'd say I did most of the work, as he's not all that great at platformers.

You need to beat it around 10 times for the true ending. I started running out of steam at about 7, but kept playing because I was super invested in the story.

    1) Miles Morales: Spider-Man 2) Astro's Playroom 3) Hitman 3 A great way to end this trilogy of Hitman games. The last level is a bit different than the norm, but I didn't mind it. They made it so, if you stay in the same ecosystem (PS4/PS5, XB1/XSX, PC) you could carry over the levels and progress from the first two games, so you in essence have three Hitman games worth of levels in one game.

    1) Miles Morales: Spider-Man 2) Astro's Playroom Fun little platformer, more of a showcase of what the controller can do than anything really, but I still had fun with it.

I had read it before but had the urge to go through it again. Figured it would be easier to listen to an audiobook while working than it would to read.

I bought the audiobook version of Neil Gaiman's book on Norse mythology and it got me interested in going through GoW again, so I started it up on my PS5 the other day.

    1) Miles Morales: Spider-Man Didn't realize how close I was to the ending until it told me "Are you sure? You can't go back." The load game screen last I checked said I was around 33% done, which I now know means overall completion, not just story. I ended up kicking the final boss out of a window, where they just sat hovering outside, yelling at me. I liked it overall, the combat still feels really good, and the story was interesting enough.
