I am mixed on Ardyn, there are aspects that worked (like him showing up everywhere you are but not actually attacking you) and aspects that didn't (the hard turn from misunderstood victim to pure evil) To me FF15 was more about a bunch of friends having a blast on a road trip until things went south and they bonded to become more like brothers in the end. (the car crash and that final campsite chat hit me HARD in the feels) So Ardyn was more a catalyst than a real villain.
