Could always slap Linux on that thing. What distros did you use?

I did look at Solus a bit but yeah, I'm a little suspicious of that kinda stuff lol. Plus its very few people and they have no upstream distro.

Well if George would join the damn forum it could be a 3 way circle jerk.

Well technically yes but that doesn't really fit here.

I was going to play around with Docker on my media center box but I'm running ESXi right now (3 VMs) and APPARENTLY you can't run virtualized services inside a virtualized OS very well!

Yeah that is mainly what attracts me to Ubuntu and Arch. I've been trying to main on Linux again for a bit here and now when I go into Windows I really fucking miss GNOME's activities hot corner feature being so easy. That and I love having GUAKE slide down for terminal shit (I have to SSH into my servers all the time for this and that). I've thought about trying Debian but that seems like ultra stable like way the fuck behind. I felt like Ubuntu LTS was a nice middle ground.

@Truami You ever play with CentOS for web servers? I have tried a few times but I detest building my own software and their community repos don't seem as robust as Ubuntu.

Anyone actually use Linux? Just looking to see who dabbles. Maybe post about new stuff occasionally if there is anyone. How long? Since highschool I've been tinkering with it on and off. Which distros? Ubuntu and Arch Linux primarily. For what? I use Ubuntu for web server stuff because it's stable and has good community support (i.e. community PACKAGES for weird stuff) and I use Arch for my desktop install and my media center stuff. You try gaming on it lately? So I've been tinkering around a bunch as of late and the work that Valve and friends have done via Steam and Proton (a WINE fork) is nothing short of incredible. Not only do we have a lot of native Linux games, but you can launch games through Steam and its own version of WINE. I was able to launch like weird old stuff (Vampire the Masquerade) and new stuff (Devil May Cry 5...with a quick patch for a problem it had playing WMV videos lol). I am really impressed with how far the gaming stuff has come now.
