    31) Metroid Zero Mission (9:23:12, 100%) 32) Metroid Fusion (07:05:00, 100%) 33) Metroid: Samus Returns (14:35:14, 100%, Normal Mode) 34 :gb: Donkey Kong '94. (100%) 35) Hey Pikmin! 36) Kirby Triple Deluxe (100%) 37) Metroid Dread (12:25:00ish official time, 100% Items) Actual time's longer because of how the game clock works but it's still too early for my Switch profile to show it. This is a 9/10 game that sinks into 8/10 status every once in awhile. - Metroid formula still addictive. I had to use guides to find the last 5-10% of items, some of those are ridic - I love the slide. Samus is fast as fuck and you can really get into a movement rhythm especially once you get new upgrades. - The EMMI stuff is a flop. The idea was decent enough, but once EMMI catches you, the counter is so difficult to hit properly that you're pretty much dead no matter what. It stops being scary and instead becomes a hindrance as you just wait for EMMI's spawn point to not be in your way. - Some of the bosses and mini-bosses hit really hard, some of them a bit too hard. Apparently there's secret ways to beat them but I don't think I ever found one, just destroyed my wrist and thumb while fighting them over and over again. - The story stuff was pretty good, especially since I had played the other games recently. Story and Ending Spoilers

Doesn't overstay its welcome, really enjoyable exploring the world of it. Best and worst part of it is Godzilla Bowser. His attacks out of nowhere can make levels more exciting, but you need him to break some objects to earn Cat Shinies and he only shows up randomly (up to 6 minute wait time I think?) unless you have a Bowser amiibo, which I don't, so there's dead time waiting for him to show up. Camera kinda sucks too, but I might not have fiddled with the sensitivity enough

I've played two, maybe three, but Wario Land games are historically underrated imo.

On the second last, I used them to respawn with my leveled up Lena already at the beginning (they crank the bullshit up, so no point in going in less than leveled up), and in the last level I used it to respawn after the first boss (easy to beat without getting hit/no point in doing it over and over) and then eventually on the last boss in general, who's bullshit personified and you're mostly not going to beat it without everything going your way. It was an okay game otherwise, nothing special as an action platformer and most of the annoying bits leading into the last two levels just require using the right special moves or learning the pattern.

    1) God of War (2018/Platinum/98ish%) 2) Marvel's Spider-Man GOTY Edition (Platinum/100%/100%ed DLC) 3) Spyro The Dragon Reignited (Platinum) 4) Assassin's Creed Liberation HD Remastered (Platinum) 5) Spyro Reignited 2: Ripto's Rage (Platinum/Only 100%) 6) Spyro Reignited 3: Year of the Dragon (Platinum/Only 80%) 7) Genshin Impact (100% Trophy List) 8 ) :nes: Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light (35ish hours) 9) Mario 3D World (380 Stars/All Normal Stamps/Mario Stamp) You have the beat every level 5 times to fully 100% the game, I don't have the patience to do it all right now, so I'm gonna hit up Bowser's Fury next and then maybe come back to this after. As usual for 3D Mario games, I was killed by the camera/misjudging perspective way more than I was by anything else. Game's pretty easy For the most part. This style was okay for a 3DS game but I think with hindsight it was a mistake to try to use it as a signature 3D Mario game for the Wii U. 3D Mario's gotta be an event and a magical feeling world or universe, this was pretty uninspired especially coming off of playing 3D All-Stars not that long ago. Almost controls like a dream, I swear the roll is designed to make you accidentally die all the time from pressing the dash button and jump button at the wrong time rather than being useful.

    1) God of War (2018/Platinum/98ish%) 2) Marvel's Spider-Man GOTY Edition (Platinum/100%/100%ed DLC) - 9/10 game that gets dragged down to 8.5/10 levels when you have to play stealth sections with side characters. - Web-slinging through New York was probably the best part of this game. Maybe the best free-flowing movement I've ever played in a video game. - Rocked Scarlet Spider in first playthrough, Future Foundation throughout the DLC and Spider-Man 2099 for the Ultimate New Game+ Replay - No Venom-costume = plz let's do Maximum Carnage and Symbiotes somewhere - I think the game over-relies on random crimes to pad out the 100% list. - Sony's DLC game is top-notch, all three were pretty cool and about what Spidey DLC should be - Though I will say the Olympus bases on Normal Mode in the DLC was harder than anything in the base game in ultimate mode, holy shit. Story I think the Arkham games (Asylum and City, haven't played the others yet) adapts its superhero material better but maybe I would've had a harder time choosing without the forced side-character stealth segments and more classic villain boss fights

An okay game for its release date. There is a lot of cheap hits from stuff you can't see off-screen until the last second. The worst thing is the finicky double-jump, which doesn't work half the time and when it does, doesn't let you ajdust in mid-air like modern double jumps do, and that is aggravating

I used save states on a few of set-ups for the these (like one where you have to light off a bomb and then screw attack multiple times while the bomb wall detonates itself) but I did manage to do them all eventually. Half the problem was just figuring out the proper controls, once I figured out that you just need to press forward on slopes to even yourself out and can press down to recharge it even while running flat, I managed to figure it out. Even managed to beat the last boss only losing two full health tanks eventually. This is also the first time I've gotten an ending in a Metroid with Samus taking off any pieces of her armour

Was a so-so game overall, really short and the controls were kinda stiff but the little combos you could do were cool. Solid for an early Genesis-era/pre-SNES release beat'em up. 24) Virtua Fighter 2 (100% Trophies) A mostly-easy trophy list but hooooo-leeee shit, that ratchets up in difficulty very quickly. I did not beat the Arcade Mode and was definitely intimidated by the size of the move list and really the idea of playing any more of it.

I like the '80s look and it's fun when you're in beast form but stiff as hell and kinda cheap otherwise. It may just be the port, but it does feel like there's some input lag, that you pretty much have to know something is gonna come at you to properly time the button press. I abused the hell out of the save states to pop all the trophies (except the multiplayer trophy, gotta look for a boosting partner for that). 22) Daytonaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa USA (100% Trophies) Fun little game. Music, the bridge etc. Kinda wish I paid more attention to the arcade and/or Sega scenes back in the day so this could've been one of those "OMFG" moments at what the future of graphics was going to look like

I kind of liken it to something like Donkey Kong Country 3 or Assassin's Creed Revelations or the later NES Mega Man games where it's maybe too well-refined and people were over it by then, but I just loved how easy it felt to play compared to God of War III, and the puzzle solving got pretty clever too. Not as good of QTE set-pieces with Titans like in God of War 3, though. And yeah, the story and setting had overstayed its welcome, easily the weakest non-multiplayer part of the game. Speaking of 18) God of War III (Platinum) I had three trophies left, beating the Challenge of the Gods (easier than I thought it would be), beating the Labyrinth without dying and beating Titan Mode. I cheated for the last two, there was a glitch that gave you infinite health and all your weapons maxed out at the start of the game (still died a few times on the Labyrinth anyways). Would've hated trying to do this legit. Some of those battles seemed like quite a bit of bullshit heaped on you. Still would be my least favourite God of War if it wasn't for the second PSP game.

Though, one thing that always annoys me about street racing games is that the computer AI is tuned to make the right moves to quickly recover from any contact with anything whereas if you slightly nudge a street sign or a wall, you're liable to backflip your car right off a cliff. I popped all the available non-DLC single player trophies and hopefully I'll eventually find a boosting partner to pop the Platinum but if not it's fine, I'm over 50% trophies even counting the DLC (which I'm not going to get).

This game is usually lauded as one of the best DQ games so I was really interested to play it. I think the general concept and the villains were great, playing through multiple stages of the Main Character's life and working in tragedies they experienced was really good. I thought it didn't focus enough on the side characters, there was a lot more they could've done with them story-wise and I actually wanted to get to know them more because of how interesting the growing-up mechanic was. The Monster collecting mechanic was a good and bad point to me at the same time, it was fun collecting monsters and seeing what new attacks they'd learn but on the opposite end, it added a lot more grinding to the game because if you wanted to use something new, you had to train them up to a reasonable level before you could. Also on a personal level, I hate when games expect you to remember those things you couldn't access before and go "Oh yeah, I need to go there" and the second half of the game was very heavily based on this, so I hit up FAQs just to figure out where to go next more often than not. Really good game and would've really stood out on the SNES had I played it back then, it reminds me a lot of Final Fantasy IV.

    31) Metroid Zero Mission (6:03:09, 71%) Big fan of the cutscene additions, new side areas and additions. I find OG NES Metroid unplayable (and really, it felt unplayable once the SNES generation started, I used a FAQ and Save States the one time I did beat it) so something like this as an alternative is great. Jumping felt too finicky (always does for me in Metroid games) and still not a fan of the Missile firing and diagonal aiming controls but I guess there was only so much you could do on the GBA with only four buttons. Didn't bother with 100%ing once I found out that you had to do a lot of complex sparkshine jumping chains.

Kirby's Mass Attack with a very fitting Pikmin coat of paint. Also a little Yoshi's Island and sounded a little Donkey Kong Country. I prefer Pikmin this way as a puzzle platformer than as a strategy game, it removes the thinking element and is a chill play. Probably my favourite part is how they collect enlarged everyday objects and Olimar tries to guess what they are (like an Ink Pen is a "Peace Missile" and a Pawn chess piece is an "Unassuming Lighthouse") and they're amusing little write-ups. I hope more Pikmin games are made like this

    1) God of War (2018/Platinum/98ish%) 2) Marvel's Spider-Man GOTY Edition (Platinum/100%/100%ed DLC) 3) Spyro The Dragon Reignited (Platinum) 4) Assassin's Creed Liberation HD Remastered (Platinum) This came along with Assassin's Creed III's disk for some reason and I've never played it. Okay at best, some parts were not all that great. In a way kind of illustrates why the Vita was never going to be a successful thing (once Nintendo stole Monster Hunter). For lack of a better term, there's an uncanny valley with faux-AAA gaming where it's so close to the real thing but also missing just enough that you go "I can just go play the real thing instead" and it doesn't do bite-sized portable gaming particularly well enough to make up for it. This game would've been way more interesting as a full game or maybe an enhanced expansion of AC3. Moot point anyways since Portables merged with consoles anyways, but yeah.
