No Gold Chocobo, that frustration's for when I do the PS4 version Cloud/Tifa/Aeris, then Cloud/Tifa/Vincent when I had the choice. Vincent's Limits actually fucked me over a few times so I probably should've stopped using him, but his character design is cool I really dug Cid as a character and I might just use him more instead of one of the other two on the PS4 playthrough. Maybe Cait Sith too. Hard to replace Tifa though, her Limits building on each other was really fun (also giant anime boobs = you're in my squad automatically no matter what game it is :x )... I think it was PSOne Classic version but I'm using Custom Firmware so I'm not totally certain how close it is to the real thing. Would take a few seconds to detect the memory card and Disc 3 was chuggy in general whenever Mako green was on-screen. Don't think I noticed significant load times with anything else. Gonna replay FF9 on PSP at some point too because 100%ing it requires speedrunning the game for Steiner's Ultimate weapon and I kinda wanna play it it similarly to the way I did FF7 before trophy-hunting

The pre-rendered backgrounds, some of the sound effects, how they handled the comedic parts, the random mini-games - Surprised at how memorable the music was, I'd only played this game part-way through once like 10-15 years ago and I remember a lot of the tracks - Definitely one of the best Final Fantasy settings I've played. Guns, planet-destroying corporations and other '90s edgy shit - Was way more into the story this time. Back in the day I really dug the stuff with Shinra and thought the Sephiroth stuff bogged the game down because everything basically degenerated into "Let's just follow Sephiroth" (I still thought part of the post-Midgar stuff was bogged down by this) but I miss those over-complex-just-to-be-complex JRPG storylines and some of those plot twists got me WHOA-ing - Good cast of characters. Cid's my favourite, I even managed to start caring about Cait Sith and I wasn't expecting that to happen - Mostly liked the ease and customization of the Materia System, but I hate "All" Materia being necessary and limited - Fucking loved Limits - I hated how some of the bosses and some of the late-game harder monsters would basically one-shot a party member or smash your HP down to nothing before you have a chance to do anything, it's cheap, especially with old-school no save-points and no-fast-forwarding cut-scenes. - Super Nova is obnoxious as fuck - The mini-games didn't do that much for me. I recognize they're a solid addition to games like this in that era but these days they're just shallow, control badly, and are annoying to suddenly be thrust into if they have a one-time reward and you don't know how to play them or how they handle. - I didn't really side-quest at all, saving the 100% run for the PS4 port/Trophies

Took me 30 someodd hours all together. If this was cheaper, it'd be a really good game to check out for those on the fence about Xenoblade's playstyle, it's turbo-charged so you level up crazy fast and the party is restricted to 9 people (they're split up into teams of three, you control one team and the other two are handled by the AI), but probably not so good for getting a feel on Xenoblade 2's story since it's a prequel but also glosses over so much of the setting that the story probably doesn't make a lot of sense without the full game. Story-wise, it was mostly just there. It didn't tell us much that we didn't already know. There was cool cameos. The ending segment was really good and gave me a few feels. I would've ended the game at a different point to tie it into Xenoblade 2 more but that's just nitpicking. Had a good time, even with how expensive it was. I got the Season Pass version, just over $40, so not only did I get a 30 someodd hour game out of it, but extra quests and S-S-S-S-S-Swimsuit DLC necessitating another future playthrough of XB2, so it does actually feel worth it all things considered Got FF7 Remake shipping next week (or next-next week) so I'm trying to do a quick runthrough of OG FF7 on the PSP (no sidequests or things like that, just beating the game) so it's fresh.

Sonic still feels a little too slide-y, Super Sonic can be a boon or a curse, music's still awesome. Also quite hilariously earned 2 psnprofiles-grade Ultra Rare trophies from this game. For comparison's sake, of the 6 Metal Gear Solid games I 100%ed, I only earned three psnprofiles Ultra Rares

I hear people glowingly talk about how the game is about platforming and then it rewards you with speedier segments after you do them, but tbh I still find a lot of this game more frustrating than not. A lot of "GOTCHA" traps and pitfalls that you couldn't see coming, hitbox is a little too big or weirdly positioned. Green Hill Zone and Star Light Zone had it right, everything else is okay to annoying.

Side-ops are where all the fun is at, main missions and especially boss encounters sucked a lot of the fun out of the game. The story was starting to grow on me but then it wasted too much time before Konami cut them off (partly Kojima's fault too, so many main missions barely moved the story forward, shit like that should've been relegated to side-ops and the main story should've focused on important things only). My Peace Walker crew got a shitty deal in this game and I'm not happy with those story elements. Also, the ending... It's like a 9.5/10 video game but a 7/10 Metal Gear Solid game

I was the exact same way. I hated Ground Zeroes throughout the first day I played it. It clicked on the second day. It's a bad Metal Gear Solid game but otherwise a decently fun mash-up of MGS4 and Peace Walker and Far Cry.

Was acks kind of surprised that there was even a PSNProfiles ultra rare trophy among these, it wasn't that difficult

The old-school ones don't play very well but they def still make it up with cool characters and blood and guts. I did play the reboot on 360 (and am going to again on PS3), that one played pretty good all around and had a really fun story (in a previous game, the world ended, so Raiden transports back in time and has to change the outcomes of the first three tournaments to figure out how to prevent it in the future, I guess the next two games after that re-do MK4 and then something else)

I think I liked the flow and setting of ZOE 1 more but some of the boss battles and major battles of ZOE 2 better.

I like the aesthetics and how fast the gameplay is. The bad voice acting and character looks sorta reminded me of older 3D Sanic games.

(Yeah, I'm almost certain I'll try for GZ's 100% and TPP's Platinum when it comes down to it and I'm just talking out of my ass. Revengeance may not be do-able just because my reflexes aren't that good)

    1) One Piece - Pirate Warriors 3 1a) Journey 2) Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty HD (Platinum) 3) Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater HD (Platinum) 4) Metal Gear Solid IV: Guns of the Patriots (Platinum) 5) Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD (Platinum) I popped the last 7 trophies just off of finishing one mission, that was fun. I still like the gameplay and set-up of Peace Walker more than all the other MGS games I've played so far (I fucking LOVE base building and mini-missions), but the grindiness of the game was wearing me down towards the end. There's way too many vehicle combat Side Ops (just over 40ish, not counting the main story, AI battles or Monster Hunter missions). Also this probably ended up being easier than it should've because I found a dude who needed the online trophies too and he helped me S-Rank the Monster Hunter Missions, AI Boss missions, and helped me beat the Tank level to acquire the Fulton Launcher while we were grinding those out. Never thought I'd have the skill/patience to Platinum the MGS games (acks not true, MGS3's Platinum is easy, I just never looked at it before I started playing it), proud of having these. I'm going to play Revengeance and TPP but I'm not sure I'm gonna end up trying to Platinum those ones. Revengeance seems more like a twitch action game and I'm not as good at those, and TPP seems more like a Far Cry game than a "true" MGS game, so I won't hold myself to the same standards that I started to with these four... probably

    1) One Piece - Pirate Warriors 3 1a) Journey 2) Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty HD (Platinum) 3) Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater HD (Platinum) 4) Metal Gear Solid IV: Guns of the Patriots (Platinum) Technically I beat it 8 times. Seven of those times were just easy but grind-y. The one difficult playthrough was pretty tough to get from place-to-place in the map, and parts of the Bike Chase were rough, but none of the boss fights were unfair like in MGS2. The MGS4 Platinum is slightly rarer than the MGS2 one, but I would say the MGS2 one is harder. Also unlike MGS2, even though it was a grind, I didn't get the feeling of "Fuck, I kinda hate this" by the end of it. Things I Liked Things I Didn't Like So Much

Taking the story out of it (which was half dumb-as-fuck and half great, Ocelot's the best ), if it wasn't for the EZ Gun, I wouldn't like playing this game at all. So many menus and extra steps to accomplish things that used to be simple, and CQC controls are so much more finicky.

Apparently MGS3's Platinum can be done in one playthrough on the easiest mode if you have a guide/know what you're doing. Platinum hunting in 2 is a bit ridiculous, but some of the trophies sound harder than they actually are.

I might hit up the HD Collection of that some day. I played the original on PC (arigato web) and dug the story, but never did really get into the Plasmids and RPG stuff in it. 1) One Piece - Pirate Warriors 3 1a) Journey Really I just popped the last two trophies I was missing (encounter 10 players and beat the majority of the game (just the last two levels) with another player. Otherwise I'm currently in VR Mission hell in MGS2, and if I somehow make it through that, there's extreme mode boss battles with collecting dog tags as Raiden that might also stop me in going for the Platinum Trophy

    1) One Piece - Pirate Warriors 3 Platinum'd. Modern anime games are pretty good for fans and the Dynasty Warriors system works perfectly with One Piece, like it did with Berserk. I mostly enjoyed it, grinding for the last trophy (which probably accounted for half of my total game time) to pop the Platinum got repetitive but that's what podcasts are for. I like that I have a Platinum Trophy for one of my favourite animes attached to my profile. It got a little weird in the last mission, it looks like they developed the game halfway through the arc going on at the time (it's prominently displayed on the cover) so the end took a not-so-interesting turn and wrapped things up quickly. I'm definitely interested in Pirate Warriors 4, as a decent amount of the early arcs and the villains from them in this game probably could've been jettisoned and other things focused on better. Also the Pirate Warriors 4 cover implies that the unfinished arc and the arc that occurred after that one since PW3 came out is fully represented, and that should be interesting as fuck.
