Last night's Raw was pretty bad. Heyman's worst traits (bad '90s soap opera storylines) and some of Vince's recent worst traits. As soon as a match gets restarted, I skip the rest of it (though I did stick around for Ricochet vs the Guns n Gallows because I like those two guys a lot). Most of the time WWE does it, feels like they wasted my time on purpose presenting one thing only to flip around and present another, usually lesser thing (singles match I want to see turns into a 6-man tag or something). All these 2/3 fall matches (CMLL does them better so I can't even get into them from the novelty perspective because I see tons of them every week) and all the excuses to not have wrestling in commercials needs to go. Just stop having regular commercials/have regular commercials during set times like actual sports do, or go back to what it was before.

Conspiracy theory going around that Kawhi held off signing to sabotage the Lakers, they'd miss out on viable #3 free agent additions to play with Lebron and AD while waiting for him to make his decision, confident that he'd join a super-team to win and also they're the Lakers. Also sounded like the Raptors entertained the idea of trading for Paul George and Westbrook to get him to stay but they didn't have enough to make it work.

1. Lost Odyssey 2. Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD (Hero Mode) 3. Mega Man 11 (Normal Mode) 3a. Mega Man 11 (Superhero Mode) 4. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings [Dark Mode] 4a Easy Mode/Roche Path 5 Pokemon Sun 6. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD 7. Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga 8. Berserk and the Band of the Hawk 70% trophies. My first Musou game. It was pretty perfect for the source material, Berserk fits the style really well. It was extremely satisfying slicing of hordes of enemies with Guts, especially as his story upgrades came along. They told the story (or what I know of it, haven't read the manga) really well, included a lot more cutscenes and dialogue than I thought they would. I don't think I'd want to play more Musou games without a familiar property/the fanservice of that property involved. I do have One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 sitting around to play at some point, I'm hoping the trophies are a bit easier to finish off in that one. I completed the main story on Hard mode (which is fairly easy), beat the Endless Eclipse with Guts, did about 50% of "Desires" (mission packs) in Endless Eclipse with a few other characters and the "only" trophies I had left to do in the game involve grinding out Endless Eclipse with the other 7 characters. It's a 100 floor dungeon, if you die, back to the start or your most recent restart point (you earn one every 20 floors). Each floor has a mission, they're split up into packs of 5 missions (some of which come with three Stray War Demons, tough enemies, hanging around the map to pick up a collectible). You only get a single set of healing items (every 5 or 10 floors there's a chance at earning full health) and the enemies get progressively more active and have more HP (harder to grind down) and especially the bosses do too. It was relatively fun as Guts because his final upgrades let you transform and wreck shop, but most of the characters don't have a transformation so it significantly slows down the game and makes it harder to beat bosses especially in the later levels. It feels like something I could grind out eventually and maybe get lucky with the weaker characters, but it's just not as fun to play anyone who isn't Guts.

Night 1 Ospreay vs Archer (holy shit, Ospreay's gonna have an AJ Styles G1) and Tanahashi vs Okada are the must-watches. ZSJ/Sanada was wonderful for that style, but I don't think it plays well in front of Americans. Ibushi vs KENTA eventually got there, but I felt like Kenta was working sorta-heel in front of a crowd that didn't hate him and in front of a crowd who knew him as Hideo Itami and not KENTA. They didn't react to most of his big moves or spots

Masai probably in his office sighing right now because he didn't want to have to trade Siakam, someone else's first and second round picks and a personal appearance by Drake for Giannis. but you gotta do what you gotta do

Welp, Basketball in Canada had a good run. Back to wondering when we'll get the Stanley Cup back

Enen no Shouboutai/Fire Force was a little interesting. It's basically if your local firemen were a dungeons and dragons party. High-quality animation too. I'm not sure I'll stick with it but I'm at least gonna watch one or two more to see if the quality sticks

Dr Stone 1 The first ten minutes were awesome, the last ten were kinda boring but necessary to move the story forward.

Second Addition: Joshikousei no Mudazukai/The Wasteful Life of High School Girls
-
First addition to my list: Araburu Kisetsu no Otome-domo yo/O Maidens In Your Savage Season

Half the fun of AEW shows are actually watching the promo videos and shows, the other half is Jim Cornette's podcast reviewing the shows because even through his old-man viewpoint, a lot of what he says is pretty spot-on Edit: (Starts at about 00:35ish)

I like how they had that small moment where Jimba is shown rantingly teaching Casval all of his father's teachings and you know that's the basis that eventually led to him going Messiah-mode in Char's Counterattack. I think my favourite one was the first one, babby Char's eyes tell the whole story (and is an interesting contrast because he eventually covers them up with a mask)

I watched the first 10ish mins of it. I like the look and style but trying to keep the light anime sched

Eyyyy, Shane Strickland/Killshot from LUG was on this week's NXT
-
Apparently they're going edgier now to make sure teens don't get into AEW.

Garou is totally my fav character and the best part of the season
-
Probably Shingeki no Kyojin Season 3 - Part 2. So much crazy shit happened and we actually had Titans in it Probably is because this cour of JoJo Part 5 isn't over, and that shit's been intense, but the finale airs later in the Summer season so it might fall just short because of that (might fall short anyways, goddamn Shingeki was a ride)

YE. Nero's low-key making moves in the background

We ended up watching around 60 minutes (out of about 120ish without commercials) of it instead of the usual 15-20 we've been doing the last few months, so that's at least progress. Though I did give a lot of segments more of a shot than I normally would've specifically because of the creative regime change. I liked the promos, so-so on the storyline stuff, they really need to get rid of that fucking "No wrestling in commercials" shit, beginning of the show was classic Heyman but there's only so much of that stuff you can do, end of the show was sorta cool and sorta not

DVR'ing and probs gonna start in 2 hours just in case the show still sucks

That era of TNA won an Observer Award for best weekly show, so you weren't the only one

What match-ups are you most hyped for? Can't even list'em all. Nevermind the regular 4.5+ star candidates, every match that KENTA, Shingo and Moxley are involved in are going to be interesting as fuck. Shingo in particular is a guy who always has me fucking hyped by the end of his matches. Shingo vs Ishii might be a sneak Strong-Style King's Road classic. (Holy shit Jon Moxley is going to fight Naito) Who wins each block? Ibushi v Jay White. Flip a coin for who wins (I would pick Ibushi, Jay White's got time to round into more of the form they want him to be) Over/Under 12.5 murders witnessed at the hands of Suzuki? I wonder if they're going to run an injury angle with him, like he attacks Okada and causes him to miss a few matches/costs him a tournament in some way.
